The Queernesss Thread

Want to add me to your project? I id as a transmasculine woman. My job will be 'standing by and applauding every panel' and occasionally dotting an i or crossing a t.

Lol, I'll think about it. :p

I think one of the reasons I'm so frustrated with this is in part due to the fact that contributors actually get paid, and get the books at wholesale to sell on their own and make a profit from. And this is amazing for trans* women-- but all the nonbinary publications currently out there have circulations in the dozens, or just barely in the 3 digits if they're lucky. Nobody gets compensated for their work, and pricing zines (they're all zines) so a profit can be made is highly frowned upon.

So I just hope that eventually, maybe sooner rather than later, nonbinary creators will get to make money from their work, get to move thousands of books, and get to have their identity be part of the package.

Shrug.

I recently told him that PIV isn't my thing, I don't think. Something about it is uncomfortable to me, painful and unrewarding in a not-fun way. It didn't always used to be this way, so it might be my medication. I'm not changing that, though-- I like the no libido thing. It might be that I enjoy things and get bored with them after a while, like what happened with masturbation for me.

The interesting part is that it prompted him to question how much he cared about PIV too, which seemed to weird him out when he thought about it more. "I'm supposed to want to put my dick into everything". I dunno. I'm guessing that must be a weird realization for a typical guy to come about having.

Why are LGBT+ people so fucking racist?

Like seriously. I'm talking with some people on a forum about some fringe concept and I'm all "idk about ths, seems to really not understand anything about POC experiences" and they're all "ok I'd be interested to read more about that". So I find something written by a black woman that criticizes the hell out of sex positivity (making a ton of points that I personally agree with), and I feel like a lot of it could be used to also criticize this other concept, so I post it. I literally get "wow, she's really mad and also completely wrong about sex positivity so even though I'm white I'm just gonna not trust her on the race thing too".

Aside from gay white men constantly miming racist caricatures of black women, I'd say yeah. :\

I just found out that one of my WoW friends, who is a cis male, and gay, says REALLY racist/homophobic things to my guildmembers while I'm away.

How do you have "the talk" with a gay man and tell him not to be a bigot?! You'd think he'd get enough of that shit to not do it to other people!

Holy shit I'm getting a hysterectomy this year, and my insurance is going to cover it.

So I think I found out a way I can safely and legally get something sort of close to the genital nullification procedure that I'd ideally want: colpocleisis. It's a relatively simple procedure that closes the majority of the vaginal opening, making penetration impossible without seriously injuring the person. It's done sometimes with old people who have suffered from pelvic prolapse.

Well guess what else encourages pelvic prolapse like whoa? Complete hysterectomies. The cervix is a sort of lid that keeps everything from oozing out in the years after surgery, and risking prolapse was the #1 reason I'd previously settled on a partial hysto. The idea of having my organs fall out was just as bad as the idea of getting pregnant, so grumble grumble I guess I'll keep the cervix and deal with pap smears for the rest of my life.

Not necessary anymore if I can have this done! And also ahhhhh I'd get to kill two birds with one stone by closing up the vaginal opening, too!

Unfortunately, I don't know if I'd be able to find a doctor that would let me have this done as a "preemptive" measure, or if I'd actually have to encourage prolapse somehow so I could get it done as a "fix".

Either way, wow this opens up a whole new world of possibilities for me, and also has my mind spinning as to the kind of kinky intimacy I'd be having without the use of genitals...!

*confused* how does HAVING the genitalia prevent kinky intimacy without them? Are you referring to kinky intimacy BECAUSE of the lack?

I'm a little confused as to how a hyst causes prolapse? I had my hyst done because of uterine, cystocele and rectocele prolapse. I had my cervix removed.

I would greatly encourage more research before considering getting your vaginal opening closed up. It does not prevent prolapse, it just prevents the organs from prolapsing out side of the body. Prolapse of the bladder or rectum into the vaginal area would not be prevented and it it occurs and your vaginal opening is sewed up it will be very uncomfortable. The rectum prolapsing into the vaginal area (not to be confused with rectal prolapse) can make evacuating stool nearly impossible. The way to fix it is usually through the vagina.

Sorry to be a downer

Reading the short wikipedia description, it's not just sewing the vaginal opening shut.

I note that its time for an update on the entry on FTM surgery, btwWho do I know that sould do that? ...

Having the kind of kinky sex I want because of the desired lack is what I meant :V

Vaginal vault prolapse is much more likely to develop if the cervix is removed, and about 10% of AFABs who've had complete hystos will eventually have this happen.

If it's a procedure that western doctors perform currently, and if it's in the surgical toolkit for dealing with prolapse, then I highly doubt that it's likely to not actually fix the resulting complications of the prolapse.

As far as I understand it, pretty much any surgery that's going to fix or prevent this sort of prolapse is going to need to maintain the integrity and placement of the vaginal canal, so I don't see how this would be any different. And that's not to mention that vaginectomies/colpectomies are procedures that are performed in cases of cancer treatment and FTM GRS, and I personally haven't heard of anything in the way of bladder/rectal complications (besides complications from messing with the urethra itself) from trans men who've had bottom surgery.

Here's a step-by-step description of the procedure for those interested: http://******/1nqWVmV
