If he is sentenced and it's carried out, I'll feel some relief believing that our system can overcome political power and wealth when carried out.

Merchan needs to sentence Trump so the case can go to the appellate court and then be officially acquitted. Merchan could be refusing to sentence Trump because dragging this bullshit on and on provides cover from the appellate court which will embarrass the crap out of him.
