The Republicans have got what they asked for

Except the part where Obama was a good president. It's more like if he hadn't shown up at such a bad time he could have accomplished a great deal instead of having to play clean up.

You mean by letting more of his ubercorp buddies write policy like he did with all of his 'hallmark' legislation???

ACA....written by insurance/pharma companies.

Farmers Assurance? Monsanto protection.

Fighting for working class? Bails out billionaires while millions lose homes.

The guy is a Wall St. goon point blank. Bought and owned by the .01% bigger than shit.

We'd build it back twice as corrupt and with half the stops in place given half a chance.

Well with Trump or Clinton in office that's a sure bet.

That's two. LeaderS, plural. I would imagine if asked the new Phillipines leader would have some kind words for him.

Two or more would be plural and one is singular.

My wife and daughter are from the Phillipines and listen to Duterte whenever he speaks. Apparently they have never heard him mention either Trump or Hillary.

Everything has come back, to bite them in the arse.

Mr. HWMNBN, King of the pile of garbage.

Hear him crow! Be Afraid! Be Very Afraid!

(I am afraid of Mr. HWMNBN, and he is feeding Republican nightmares with things that are not facts.)

More crowing-

72% of people think the country is moving in the wrong direction.

72% of people think the country is moving in the wrong direction.

Those numbers are misleading however. The fact that 72% of people don't want goose for dinner doesn't mean they agree on what we SHOULD have for dinner.

The economy is in a stall....I don't care what the numbers may look like, I know from beating the streets what businesses are dealing with and what they think about the future. We have gone too far Left in this country, too PC, too overboard with special interest and boutique issues...

Hillary or Trump won't really present ideas, why should they? First, i dont think Trump has any, but if he did and put it out there, it would just get crushed in the media...

That doesn't mean we should stick with goose just to piss the 72% off.

The economy is the greatest ever, you just hate Obama because he's black!!

Nah the media wouldn't crush him, they've already tried and failed.

Tump is going to lose for 2 reasons.

1) Johnson is going to take votes from Trump but very very few if any from Clinton.

2) all the not Trump fan conservatives are going to just stay home while (D)'s flex lemming power and elect Hillary.

Actually, I kind of like Obama....I like that he is anti war, opened Cuba, and a champion for gay rights. I just wish we had a booming economy....

Kinda?

KINDA??

PROFESS YOUR LOVE OF THE GREAT LEADER OR YOU HATE HIM BECAUSE HE'S BLACK!!

To some extent it kinda does. I mean a assuming you could make anybody happy that 72% is 36% people who think we should go full blown socialism and 36% who think we should shrink the government to where it can be drown in a bathtub and we aren't doing EITHER of those things because the other half has veto power.

Ahh yes ride the status quo until it shits the bed when that's totally unnecessary for any reason other than control freak asshole humans.

Well it doesn't have to be goose if everyone would just pull the control freak sticks out of their ass's.

It's not about the "status quo" it's about people not agreeing on what is fucked up so that 72% is terribly misleading. There is a reason why 72% think the country is going in the wrong direction but Obama is still polling in the high 40's low 50's. These two things shouldn't be possible. If the country is going the wrong direction in the opinions of 72% of the population no more than 30% or so should approve of the man at the helm!

I disagree.....because pretty much nobody is happy with congress. Which coincides with the major dislike of how the country is being run.

POTUS's approval ratings if anything are the wonkiest of the bunch.

I mean Obama did damn near everything Bush did but bigger and more butt fuckey except invading countries and the (D)'s absolutely fucking adore him for it. From the PATRIOT act to kissing Wall St's ass everything that made bush so fucking horrible makes Obama great.

Clinton...even a bunch of Sanders fans are suddenly acting like Clinton is the fucking second coming of Christ. The public's idolizing of POTUS is weird because no matter who it is, how scummy they are or what fucked up shit they do...their team is 100. And as soon as the other team does the SAME fucked up shit their person JUST DID they cry foul and scream about injustice!!

LOL....so god damn stupid, I hope China and Russia come over here and fuck out shit right up. We deserve it for being a bunch of retarded fucking weaklings.

Fact is, the Republicans didn't ask for Donald Trump, he won out over a bunch of no-names and jokers that will NEVER win the Presidency, no matter if the Dem's didnt even have a candiate.....in 4 years, assuming Hillary wins, I would hope that someone, with a decent record of service, the ability to convey a message of hope and a message of a "having a plan", would take this country by storm.... there just has to be someone like that paying attention to this.

Now we are going to get an extension of Obama's 1.5% GDP slow growth, more regulation, attention to those boutique issues like transgender bathrooms, gay rights, and free tuition. Hiking the min wage means nothing without a job!

One thing I hope Hillary continues is deporting illegal immigrants the way Obama has done and vetting the ones she lets into the country

According to Max Boot, Republicans capable of comprehending the complexities and complications of political decisions, masqueraded as average men.

They killed admiration for highly educated people, in order to win elections.

A man, proud of his ignorance, oblivious of complications, and blind to complexity, has won.

gsgs comment-

Is this election year, another form of masquerade ?

What if none of the sub cultures of the Republican party, or none of the men who control the GOP, have any concern or alarm about an "unapologetic ignoramus" becoming president ?

The right-wing legislative lobbying group ALEC has been losing corporate members at a remarkable pace since 2012, due in part to its support of measures attacking clean energy, workers rights and voting rights.

That makes the appearance of AARP on the list of sponsors of ALEC’s 2016 annual meeting last month all the more curious. As the Center for Media and Democracy, a long-term ALEC nemesis, revealed last week, “AARP isn’t exactly hiding its new financial relationship with ALEC.”

The Koch-affiliated ALEC — the name stands for the American Legislative Exchange Council — operates by offering model legislative packages to its members, who typically are conservative Republican state legislators. They introduce the bills at home, allowing their legislative concepts to metastasize into statehouses across the country.

July 29, 2016

Mike Pence addressed the national gathering of the controversial American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) on Friday in Indianapolis, telling the group, "I was for ALEC before it was cool!"

Thousands of state legislators from across the country pay into the conservative group, meeting among one another with corporations that also pay to attend. ALEC serves as a conduit for creating model legislation that its member legislators take back to introduce in their respective home states.

Over the years, the Koch network has contributed large amounts of money to Governor Pence, who has pursued a legislative agenda straight out of the Koch-ALEC playbook. In terms of individual donations, David Koch's $300,000 makes him the third largest donor, and Senior Vice President of AFP and General Counsel of Koch Industries Mark Holden's $202,500 makes him the sixth.

And Pence is scheduled to be a "featured guest" at the Koch network's semiannual donor retreat to be held at a resort in Colorado July 30-August 1, 2016

GOP Platform Riddled with Koch/ALEC Policies

The Kochsperts must have had a hand in the creation of the RNC Platform, because the list of American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC)-approved policies in the platform is stunning. The Kochs have been among the biggest backers of ALEC and the member organizations, think tanks, and advocacy groups that aid ALEC for decades. Here are some of the Koch-ALEC policies and priorities reflected in the platform

Elections

Jobs and Finance

Transportation and Infrastructure

Courts and Criminal Justice Reform

Environment

Federal Budget and Constitution

• Hamstringing Congress in future recessions and crises by adding a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution

• Cutting social safety net programs like Medicare and Medicaid by turning them into block grant programs

• Establish federal term limits by amending the U.S. Constitution

• Privatize the VA medical system

Education

• Reducing oversight of homeschooling

• Privatizing schools through voucher and charter school programs

• Replace federal student aid for college with private "investment"
