Anyone else catch the two new episodes last Sunday? Whatdya think?

I think I REALLY miss that show.

CTV teased us with the entire series (so far) during the olympics with the promise of airing it regularly later in the fall......Bastards!! they never did. I may actually have to buy a dish so I can satisfy what quickly became an addiction.

Nitelight

Not for nuttin but...... shaddup!

When the good folks at The Witness Protection Program gave youse your new identity, youse was supposed t' start speakin' like ya was from Minnesotahhh.

Bada Big baby!

Thank all the gods that be, the boys are back!

Yep Laurel, finally got my mafioso fix and it looks like things have picked up where they left off. Man I love that show.....

Doncha just love the picture of Tony stumbling down the driveway barefoot with his robe hanging open?

LOL! That's second only to the scene with Tony driving around singing, "I'm a fool to do your dirty work, oh yeah..."

lol Oh yeah, cracked me up!
It's almost hard to hate Toney.....watching it again right now for the 3rd or 4th time.....damn I love that show.

That's what's so brilliant about the show...there are no saints, and there are no villains. You CAN'T hate Tony or Carmela or any of them, but you can't totally like them either. They're REAL characters, with real pain and real feelings. These new episodes were fucking brilliant. Top notch. It's so well shot and acted that it's like watching a movie every week. I'm so stoked on the new season!

Hey Laurel...

How YOUUU doin???

p.s. I love the series. I truly identify with Tony, except my mother would have never tried to have me killed. She wants me alive to torture me, bless her heart.

LOL! I think that's more typically parental - keep the kids alive to abuse. lol.

Exactly Laurel! When Carmela stopped the funeral to say that Livia was a horrible woman, I admired her. And when Patsy pees in the pool, you feel empathy for him....
What a great show!

I was ROLLING when Carmela started going off about Livia. That was a classic moment! That should teach Tony's sister to mind her own business. I can't believe she's back on the show. She's nothing but trouble. My neck hairs stood on end when she threatened Livia's housekeeper at the funeral.

I am glad to see everyone here enjoying this season. Much of the media attacked it for being boring. I guess too much of a build up by the press that there was no way the show good live up to the hype.

The first episode was priceless, with the Feds going to all that trouble putting the tap in the basement and getting diddly-squat. "Something just went down!" and it turns out the only thing brewing in the Soprano household is the water heater.

Mmmmnnnn.... it's gonna be another great season, I can tell!

I love the Sapranos the only thing I did not like and that is because it has happened to me is when Tony told the black kid he did not want him seeing his daughter. As an African American man living in a predominantly white area I have had this conversation with few fathers and let me tell ya mobster, banker, truck driver, welfare reciept all fathers have the air of intensity when it comes to me dating thier daughters. Over the years I learned to block it out and basically stop giving a damn but for a few second that brought up some tough memories for me.

BTW: Is it me or does anyone else have a huge crush on Tony's daughter Meadow. My just saying her name....whew is it getting hot in here.

For me that was my favorite scene. I try to be honest with my children about their relatives and I loved that she said it.

Great show. I caught it on reruns after the first season and haven't missed an episode since. The scene that Tony's sister orchestrated (against his wishes) was almost excruciating to watch - right up until Carmela took the air out of the balloon with her speech.

God, I wish someone would whack that bitch! ;)

So far my favorite Sopranos scene is when Janice is asking Tony what happened to Richie (when she shoots him at the dinner table is another great scene) and he says that they buried him on a hill with trees ...yada yada yada... and she tears up and says really? lol Oh man, she still worried about him after shooting him at the dinner table! God I love this show and the complexity and multi levels!

Phoenix, you gotta stop being so.....

sensitive. Tony wasn't angry because Meadow's b/f was Black. It was because he was Black and Jewish.

I can recall the antisemetic comments when I was a young law student dating one of Grosse Pointe's finest females. The family thought I was Italian, believe it or not.The mother and father shit when they found out that I was Jewish. By that time I had already had sex with their lovely daughter in almost every room of their lovely mansion, and the rest is history.

Was I pissed? Yes. Did I tell the folks to "Fuck off"? Yes. Did I let it bother me? Only long enough to have sex with several other good Catholic girls.

It only goes to prove that fear is everywhere. Only time and education will calm the fears that foster hatred and bigotry. End of story.

p.s. I am not proud of my past behavior because I was just as bigoted towards them as they were towards me.

What I meant is I was not offended because he said it because I have had the same conversation with my of my former g/f's parents and have almost every racist analogy know to man from some of these people. However I still winced when I heard it because it brought back some bad memories.

Me sensitive? Was I the same guy who also admitted to fantizing about having wild sex with Meadow Saprano during class. WOOPs I did not admit that before did I? Damn. I guess I am just SOL now lol.

Youse guys is probably gonna laugh at me..

...but did Tony ever fool around with his psychiatrist last season? I remember that they were in a car together in one episode, but I didn't see the whole thing- maybe somebody can fill me in.

I dig her, I wish she'd get busy with somebody...maybe not Tony though, I don't need to see his fat ass.

BTW, on that note, have you all noticed that whenever Tony is getting a quick piece of ass, he always has t-shirt on, and almost always his bathrobe?

Kind of adds a sweet air of inconsequentiality to the act, don'tcha think?

:D

I love a man who can not only spell inconsequentiality but manage to use it in a sentence. Talk about your brainiacs...

I had to look it up after I posted it, to make sure it was a real word

Scary sci-fi music playing - wooo-ooo eee-ooo

"He has the intellect of a hundred men...a victim of a horrible genetic mutation, or possibly a massive dose of radiation. Why he's, he...he's a BRAINIAC!"

:)

Did everyone see Big Pussy's reflection in the mirror on the back of the closet door when Tony opened it at his home after the funeral?
