The Strength of the Resistance Grows!

Unlike at Benghazi, nobody was murdered over this. It really isn't much of a scandal.

Well, we can always talk about Trump being off tweeting about his daughter's clothing line at Nordstroms while his first raid against Mideast terrorists was getting an American killed in a botched operation in Yemen that the Obama administration had passed on as too risky--and that has caused Yemen to ditch cooperation with the United States. How about we talk about the Trump gang's first-month performance. :D

If we talked about the Benghazi business we'd have to get back to Congress' underfunding of requested security enhancements in U.S. embassies abroad--and maybe about some of Trump's campaign rhetoric about Hillary being in bed asleep, in the middle of the night, when it began. I guess she should have been off tweeting about family business.

It is not clear whether he broke the law or not, but only because the Fed's haven't released the transcripts of the phone calls. I'm sure that the feds know what was said to the Russian Ambassador verbatim. The NSA can pull up the transcripts if they want to. Congress could require the NSA turn over the transcripts to the Intell Commty. But they won't because then they would have to press charges or be branded as co-conspirators in a coverup.

The real scandal would be if Flynn assured the Russians that Trump has authorized him to pass the word on lifting the sanctions if they helped get Trump elected.

The Repuglicans never addressed the root cause of the Benghazi thing because they didn't address the facts that a.) Hillary was conned by the Frogs and the Italians to talk Obama into bombing Libya because the French and Italians wanted the oil and didn't want to pay retail for it, and don't have the wherewithal to get past Libyan Air Defenses. b.) the CIA was running guns from the Libyan stockpiles to Syria for a black op to destabilize Assad to help the Gulf states fuck with Russia's oil and gas markets in Europe and c.) the Republican Congress had cut the security budget of the State Dept.

The Rethuglicans were too stupid to ignore the "it was a movie" ploy and address the root causes because to do so would have implicated them in the dumb ass cluster fuck of the Libyan fiasco.

So you see Box the Republican view of the world is flawed by their own limited view of Hillary is the Devil! But they never delved into why she was doing her devilry, they can't see past their own propaganda. Dumb shits that they are.:)

So you are saying the GOP views Hillary much as the Dems view Trump.

As for the lie about the movie, I don't believe anybody believed that. What were the root causes of Benghazi? Personally, I think they were the stupidity of having the ambassador in such a dangerous place and the lack of security for him. If it was a matter of funds, the state dept. has a budget and they decide how to spend the available, and if they chose to stint on security, that was Hillary's bungling.

Well he has to take some of the blame. He was told that it was a dangerous place and He chose to risk his life on the loyalty of his Libyan security detail, who bugged out on him. His American security detail put too much faith in their pop gun Car-4's when they should have had a couple of 50 cal MGs on the top of the building to repel vehicular assaults. But maybe no one thought about the fact that local security was not very reliable and the CIA back up was too out gunned to get to the compound.

I very much doubt that Hillary had anything to do with the security setup. she was just the Cheerleader in DC after all. I put most of the responsibility on the CIA for this, and the Marine Corp's who has responsibility for Embassy security. Oh and general American Hubris for prancing around in foreign lands as if Americans were bullet proof.

‘Stop that BS’: Joe Scarborough hammers Republicans for refusing to investigate Flynn and Trump

Joe Scarborough might be the host of “Morning Joe,” but as a former Republican House member, he can provide insight into the inner workings of Congress. Wednesday he was at a loss to understand why Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and other members of Congress were denouncing investigations into Gen. Michael Flynn and President Donald Trump and their repeated communications with Russia before the inauguration.

“It is an issue of competence,” Scarborough said. “It’s also up to the Republicans on Capitol Hill to get to the bottom of this and to begin investigating. And how disheartening it was to see several people on the hill and some editorial writers say this isn’t about the Russian connections.”

“They don’t think lying is wrong, they don’t think riffing and just breaking out the rules is wrong, because we are not seeing anybody being held accountable for this,” co-host Mika Brzezinski noted.

Will the "Fourth Estate" force Congress to "Do it's Job?" Has our Government gotten so corrupt that lawlessness in high places is condoned? Does anyone care any more?

US senator: Launch probe of inappropriate Trump campaign, Russia contacts

Congress should launch a bipartisan investigation if there were any inappropriate contacts between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russian officials, fellow Republican U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham told Fox News on Wednesday.

“If there were contacts between Russian officials and Trump campaign operatives that was inappropriate, then it would be time for the Congress to form a joint select commission to get to the bottom of all things Russia and Trump,” Graham said. The New York Times has reported that members of Trump’s presidential campaign had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials before the election.

They don’t care!’: ‘The View’ blows up as Joy Behar says GOP ‘sell their souls’ to cover for Trump

Things got feisty on ABC’s The View on Wednesday after co-host Joy Behar insisted that Republicans will “sell their souls” to cover up for Trump as long as he signs their proposed tax cuts.

During a discussion of President Donald Trump’s alleged ties to the Russian government, Behar ripped the Republican Party for supposedly being unwilling to investigate the Trump campaign’s reported regular contacts with Russian intelligence officials throughout 2016.

“The Republican Party is not stepping up the way they should,” she said. “They will sell their soul down the river — sell democracy down the river — so that the rich can get tax cuts.”

Co-host Jedediah Bila quickly interjected and pointed out that several Republicans — including GOP Sens. Mitch McConnell, Richard Burr, and Roy Blunt — had all expressed a desire to have a full investigation into Trump’s ties to Russia.

Oh shit!, the 'SS' (Silly Senators) have turned on the Trumenfurer!

Donald Trump Must Go |

He Must Go
He does not believe in democracy.
He believes “Republican congressman are only obligated to represent Republican constituents.”

He must go because not only do his actions simplify the task of known terrorist organizations, but in many cases his actions also qualify as a form of emotional terrorism,” Olbermann said.

“He must go because he burns with seeming hatred towards people of color.”

“He must go because he has chosen to make his job not about serving the people of this nation, but about hearing applause and about being re-elected.”

“He must go because he called the media the ‘enemy of the people’ … and he must go because his next ‘enemy of the people’ could be you.”

We can haz totalitarian ?

Rule #1: Believe the autocrat

Back in the 1930s, The New York Times assured its readers that Hitler’s anti-Semitism was all posture. More recently, the same newspaper made a telling choice between two statements made by Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov following a police crackdown on protesters in Moscow: “The police acted mildly—I would have liked them to act more harshly” rather than those protesters’ “liver should have been spread all over the pavement.” Perhaps the journalists could not believe their ears. But they should—both in the Russian case, and in the American one. For all the admiration Trump has expressed for Putin, the two men are very different; if anything, there is even more reason to listen to everything Trump has said.

Trump has no political establishment into which to fold himself following the campaign, and therefore no reason to shed his campaign rhetoric.

On the contrary: it is now the establishment that is rushing to accommodate him—from the president, who met with him at the White House on Thursday, to the leaders of the Republican Party, who are discarding their long-held scruples to embrace his radical positions.

FEBRUARY 25, 2017

From the CPAC podium on Friday, the president denied that he had claimed the news media writ large to be the people’s enemy; rather, it’s the “fake news” media who are.

The president never called CNN out by name in his speech; he left that to the audience. The game went like this: “Generally speaking, I can tell you the network,” Trump said, complaining of bad polls from a particular TV news operation. “Somebody said a poll came out,” he continued. “I say, ‘What network is it?’ And they’ll say, ‘A certain — let’s not mention names, right? Shall we?’”

Cue the audience. Loud, random shouts from the voices of young people roared through the room. “CNN!” they shouted. The president smirked and paced the stage.

Fake News!

The appropriation of the term by Trump and his supporters to discredit mainstream media is one of the great rhetorical heists of all time.

"...and it was everywhere at CPAC. Numerous speakers used the term throughout the conference; the conference agenda offered these breakout sessions: “Fake Climate News Camouflaging an Anti-Capitalist Agenda — and What President Trump Plans to Do About It,” and one simply called “Fake News.”
