The man calling himself Patrice Boucher was seated in the business class of a Lufthansa Airbus sipping a glass of Bombay Safire gin.

They were minutes away from final approach into Vienna International Airport.

The rest he got on the flights, the first from Montreal to Dusseldorf, then from Dusseldorf to Vienna was needed. Once on the ground, the man called Patrice would have work to do.

The flight attendant who was working in business class was stunning. The German woman was blond had a body to die for. She seemed to focus on him and he felt like he would have to be careful. He intended to try to hook up with her. But, for Patrice Boucher, this was a work assignment.

This was a mission.

That was how Patrice thought of his assignments in his past life.

Patrice Boucher was not always called by that name. In his former life, the name he was born with was Kristopher Fowler.

He had been an American. In fact, he served honorably in the United States Army. He had served with the Special Forces in Afghanistan and Iraq. It was in Afghanistan that he met the man who would, in theory, erase Captain Kris Fowler, Special Forces and Combat Applications Group and create Patrice Boucher, President and CEO of Boucher Precision Tool and Die of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The man had arrived at the FOB, or Forward Operating Base in the Hindu Kush Mountains in Afghanistan. After speaking with the commanding officer, Captain Fowler was ordered to go on a termination operation with the Barrett 50 caliber sniper rifle and the man would be his spotter.

The man was clearly a spook.

Kris Fowler had argued vehemently against the op. He did not know this person or how good he would be as a spotter. He was overruled and he went on the mission.

It was lying in his hide with the spook that the man offered Kris the option to come on board with the agency.

They spent a great deal of time lying on the ground and the man was a good recruiter.

Kris shot the target dead at a range of just over 900 meters. He then agreed to go through the training.

Kris Fowler breezed through the training. His recruiter said that he was born for deep cover field work.

His first assignment was a termination assignment in Lebanon. He completed 2 more assignments which were collecting intelligence and now was on his way to Vienna for 1 more before he would get time off to visit family in Florida.

This mission looked to be an easy collection mission.

He was to find his target, a Korean physicist, who may be North Korean intelligence, who had a memory stick with vital information and diagrams for the enrichment of uranium to weapons grade. The Korean was attempting to sell the information to the highest bidder. Of course his potential customers were the shit bags of the planet. There was Al Qaida as well as the Iranian government and the fat fuck dictator in Venezuela. Fowler would not fail this mission. There was no way he was going to let these dirty fucks get that information.

He was directed to get the memory stick at any cost, so if the Korean had to be eliminated then so be it.

The flight landed at Vienna International.

Fowler had no carryon baggage and no checked luggage. The agency had an Imperial suite the Hotel Imperial in Vienna already prepared for him. It would have clothes as well as a safe with cash, passports, and weapons. All he had to do was get there.

As he exited the aircraft, the beautiful German woman moved in close to his ear and in French whispered, “I have 2 days in Vienna before I fly again. I would love to spend it with you. It will be worth it for you.” She kissed him lightly on the cheek.

Kris replied in French, “Here is my number.” He scribbled one of his cell numbers down on a cocktail napkin and handed it to her and moved his head close to her right ear. “I will be staying for 2 weeks attending my conference. I have a suite at the Hotel Imperial. You call me in about 5 hours. Then we can meet.” Kris gave a butterfly kiss to her neck, then looked up and smiled at her.

One of the drawbacks to deep cover work was that an operative was always looking to improve his cover. Having a beautiful German flight attendant as an accessory would cement his cover as a CEO looking to sell his company at a convention.

Not that wild, raw sex in a luxury suite in Vienna was bad or anything.

Kris cleared passport control at the D gates of Vienna International using his Canadian passport.

He had actually arrived a week in advance of the conference so that he could establish surveillance. He also wanted to see if any other intelligence operatives were arriving. Not that he could tell just by looking. But if he watched the arriving international passengers as they cleared passport control and then later on, see them again and again…well in the intelligence business there are no coincidences.

Kris bought a copy of Le Monde and found a seat at the Johann Strauss Café where he could watch all the passengers coming out of passport control, and ordered a latte.

Kris settled in.

He planned to watch for 3 hours, and then hire a limo for the trip into Vienna. He would check into his suite, shower, and change clothes then call the flight attendant.

Kris Fowler, AKA Patrice Boucher, actually loved his job.

Rei as 'Tae Kun'

Character Appearance: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_rMjEML5yj4w/TMY9t4IPiJI/AAAAAAAAACU/D1JS6X-E5C0/s1600/japanese+woman.jpg

She was already settled in the hotel room—correction, she was set up in a beautiful penthouse. Had she been here for pleasure, she would’ve enjoyed the room. But no, she was on business. Her rich Korean husband had business in Europe and she had come in his place. Tae Kun, they called her. She had met with the physicist just hours before, eating a light lunch with him. Tae could only hope that it helped to bring her a little closer to her prize.

“See you later,” she muttered, kicking off her shoes. “Yeah, I’ll see you! Five hundred feet away!” The black haired beauty fell back into the couch, her hands rubbing her temples. When her husband was away, she was in charge of his ‘multi-billion’ dollar import-export company. She managed the financial and maintained order with employees. Needless to say, she was very hands on. But not the way the old man had implied.

“Tae-chan,” a male voice sounded, “don’t break your cover because of one person.” He was slightly taller than her, with a bandage patch over his left eye. He had his arms crossed as he leaned against the wall, raising an eyebrow. She threw him a glare. Her black eyes, if possible, grew darker and she tossed a small coster at him. She shook her head once more. “Tae, understand, we have to win that bid.”

“I know,” she responded, remembering her unpleasant trip here. Stupid old men. “I already got him thinking of me. So, when the bids go, hopefully he’ll let me win. If someone else does, we know what we have to do.” They would, of course, steal it and run away into the night. And if anyone tried to send an arrest warrant for Tae Kun, they would find she did not exist. Ever. “Besides, getting away will be easy for me. the building is made to impress… which means a lot of ledges and space. Takashi-san is already getting the layout of all the levels.”

The man could only shake his head. Both knew if you wanted the job done quick, you get Aki. You wanted the job done right, you get her. She may take a little longer, but she never left a trace. In the Japanese underworld, she was known as the Invisible Demon. No one got near her, and no one saw her face. Then again, she always did like to have things a little dramatic.

“Now, get to the airport and wait for the last of our group. Remember, as a cover, it’s going to be your assistant.”

Tae nodded.

About forty minutes later, she was sitting at a small café, watching people go by. Her eyes could pick out the tourists, the business men and women, but once in a while, her eyes would catch those who were here for another than business or pleasure. She thanked the waiter for her coke. It wasn’t that she didn’t like coffee… she didn’t like airport coffee.

The young woman looked elegant, sitting up straight, her leg crossed over another. She was wearing heels that made her looked taller than usual. Her dress was black but had a thing, black cotton sweater over it. It made her look more like a dancer, than a business woman. It also made her look as though she was waiting for someone important.

A kindly old man stood next to her. “Are you waiting for anyone?” he inquired. She turned to smile back, knowing he wasn’t meaning anything rude. And that there was nothing behind it.

“Yes. I’m waiting for my friend. She had to go later because of some personal issues,” a huge smile was pasted on her face, her head tilting to the side. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a man. Well, he certain wasn’t Asian. In the back of her mind, small red flags went off. Shaking her head free, she leaned forward. “Do not worry about me. I am perfectly fine.”

The man nodded and left, leaning her alone with her drink. She leaned forward on her hand and closed her eyes. “Kokoro,” she muttered. “Don’t get followed again.” Tae took a small sip of her drink, ignoring the few cat calls and looks she got. She made her ‘wedding’ band shine in the light, by resting her head against her temple. Tae… how she hated that name.

Letting out a sigh, she realized she was slowly slipping out of character and back into Rei.

Tae Kun was the loving wife of Gwoon Kun.

Rei was a Japanese operative.

Kris Fowler had a very good position to watch the arriving international passengers. He had observed no one who stood out to him or made feel uncomfortable or increase his alert status.

Kris flicked his eyes from the news paper to the terminal passage way. Occasionally he sipped his latte while studying his surroundings.

During one his scans of the people in the café with him he picked up on the ravishing Asian woman seated near him.

She had long, shiny black hair, delicious toned legs, and pouty lips. She was dressed to impress, for sure.

Kris’ initial feeling was she was probably a trophy wife. Her wedding band was prominent on her hand. She may be waiting on someone, he thought.

Kris tried to focus on monitoring the incoming passengers but felt his scan being continually drawn to the mesmerizing, beautiful Asian woman. On one of his scans that caught her face he noticed her cheek bones.

Kris believed her to be Japanese.

Kris was then brought back to her when another man approached her. Kris could not hear the conversation but felt like the man was trying to pick her up. She sent him on his way. Nice try dude, Kris thought.

That was when Kris saw her rest her head on her hand.

She is bored…or what she was waiting on was boring…something had changed in her demeanor.

It was odd.

The whole point of what Kris was doing was observing patterns…and deviations in patterns.

Kris shook off the thoughts. The Asian woman was probably exactly what he first thought…probably.

Kris folded up his paper then preceded to the limo services. He hired a limo, a black Mercedes E-class.

He told the driver his destination, the Hotel Imperial, and they left the airport.

The driver got on the A-4 and proceeded north.

Once in Vienna proper, the driver took them in to the city center. As they drove along the Karl Luegar Ring, Kris saw the popular Volksgarten on his left. A light snow had dusted the park. The drive took them past the Imperial Palace and the Burggarten and the State opera house.

They arrived at the Hotel Imperial and Kris, posing as Patrice Boucher checked into his suite.

The room was immaculate.

Kris quickly changed into more relaxed clothes and checked the safe. He found his money, $10,000 in US dollars, and another 5,000 in Euros. He also had another passport. It was a French passport. There also was a silenced Beretta 92 FS and a Glock 22. There was an amount explosive that he could use if needed. Kris also pulled out the file on the target.

The target was Dr. Kyong Doo-Hwan. The intelligence was that he intended to auction off the information at some point during the coming conference. The intel also said the information was kept on a memory stick that was labeled “recipes”.

That would be no problem…if Kris could locate him and his room.

The thought of him actually bidding was ruled out by HQ. He was going to steal the information, or terminate the Korean and take the information.

The best place to try and acquire the target would be at the convention center. That would be his primary task tomorrow. But for now, he was content on calling the lovely, blonde flight attendant.

Rei stood up, smiling as she saw the person she was waiting for. Exiting the café, she hugged the taller female. “Koko-chan,” she greeted in Japanese, “I’m so happy you made it! How was your flight?” She released the girl and the two walked arm in arm, relaxed against each other. They skipped the baggage claim and walked over to the waiting black car that Rei had reserved for them. Their driver was a part of the operations.

“It was just great until this blonde air stewardess bumped into me and thought I didn’t understand French,” she replied, rolling her eyes. “I hate blondes.” Rei chuckled softly and moved in first, not caring to buckle herself up at the moment. “On another note, I got word from the head. No bidding. We have just three days to get it and come back home. He’s afraid other countries got wind of it.”

The other nodded. “I know, Koko,” she responded. “This is a very valueable piece of data. I plan on getting it and destroying it in front of Hideki-sama’s desk.” Her voice grew dark as she crossed her legs. Slowly, she took off the wedding band and handed to her female partner. “Hey, thanks for letting me borrow this. I know your husband must think you’re cheating.”

“Only with you,” Kokoro giggled and hugged her girl. “But you know, as far as I know, you never had a boyfriend. Not even before you had a spy. Why was that?”

“Boys are stupid, men are just plain annoying,” Rei snapped, not liking to talk about the subject. She did have a few boyfriends but, she had never moved on past first base. They had called her cold and distant, but really, she just wasn’t interested in having intimate relations. “Besides, it would just cause more drama then nessacery. If I do get one, he would have to understand I can’t be open about my work and allow me to disappear for days, weeks or even months without telling him.”

“I tell mine everything,” Koko said. “He doesn’t mind since he does trust me. I’m fanatically loyal to one person in relationships. And I expect them to be loyal to me.”

“He’s an octopus!”

“He is not.”

“He has no backbone.”

“No.”

“He’s completely spineless, Koko.”

“Not really.”

“When it’s you, yes he is.”
“My Tomoya-kun?”

After a moment, both girls laughed with each other. The car pulled up to their hotel, in which Rei got the penthouse. It was right across from Hotel Imperial. Rei walked around the car, and waited for her friend. Feeling slightly uncomfortable, she surveyed the area around her. Strange, red flags were flying in her head but she could see nor hear anything. It was then her friend pointed someone out.

“IT’S THE BITCH BLONDE!” she cried out in Hungarian. “Come on, just one hit! One hit!”

She shook her head and wrapped her arm around the girl’s shoulder and moved them into the hotel, away from the blonde.

“I’LL GET YOU ONE DAY, BLONDIE! JUST YOU WATCH! IT’LL BE LATE AT NIGHT AND YOU-“ Kokoro screamed out in French but stopped as Rei glared at her, along with the guards. The blonde just stopped to watch the two Asians before going toward the other hotel.
“Koko! Do you want to blow our cover?” she hissed in her ear. Both women went to the room in silence.

Tonight, they planned on casing the joint. Tonight, Rei would try to get into the doctor’s room and see if she could… get an ‘appointment’ tomorrow. After all, Tae Kun was a dutiful wife. What her ‘husband’ wanted, she got for him. Rei shook her head. “How are we supposed to case if it’s under lockdown?”

“Well, what do you think? Call the lonely doctor and say you want to take him out to dinner. Then the three of us will take care of the rest. Have fun, Tae Kun.”

Kris had changed into some relaxed clothing. He studied the picture of the target.

Kyong was a slight man, 63 years old. He only stayed at the finest hotels and the Humint, or human intelligence, said he had a taste for scotch whiskey and beautiful young women.

Well, Kris could provide the scotch.

Kris was doing a weapons function check when one of his cell phones rang. It was the German flight attendant.

Her name was Rebekka. Kris thought having her hanging around would help his cover. She said she would meet him at the Hotel Imperial in 30 minutes.

Kris squared himself away and went to the lobby.

At the desk, he asked the clerk if Dr Kyong had checked in. The clerk answered that no one by that name was registered and that they were not showing a reservation.

Kris then went to the courtesy phone and began calling all the hotels in the area.
He called 3 hotels with no luck. He finally decided to call the Zur Wiener Staatsoper, which was practically across the street from the Hotel Imperial.
The woman on the other end of the connection was most helpful and spoke very good French.

She said that he had checked in yesterday.

Kris left a message for the doctor to call Patrice Boucher and it was a matter of some importance concerning some services that the doctor might be interested in. Kris kept it vague intentionally. He then said, “You know, I might just go meet him in person, what room is he staying in?” She advised him that she could not give out that information but would gladly connect him to the doctor’s room phone. Kris thanked her and listened as the phone rang.

Then someone answered in Korean.

“Yes, this is Patrice Boucher calling for Dr. Kyong Doo-Hwan.” Kris knew from the intel reports that the doctor spoke English.

“This is he.”

“Doctor, it is so good to talk to you. I am the president of Boucher Tool and Die. My company specializes in the exact and precise cutting of nuclear reactors and centrifuges. I am calling to offer my companies services to you and any customers you may know. I believe that my company can assist you and any customers you may have in getting their nuclear energy programs started at a very low cost.”

“How did you get my name?” He was sounding agitated. Kris expected that coming from a man who was going to sell vital information to any criminal enterprise.

“Mr. Kim Dak-Ho, from the DPRK trade center, gave me your name. He thought you might be interested in my services.”

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Trade Center was an actual entity. The name was something that Kris had made up on the fly.

There was a long silence, then “Your company can manufacture the centrifuges to…say enrich uranium?” The doctor’s greedy mind was working, just as Kris suspected it would.

“Certainly, doctor. That could be arranged easily.”

The doctor’s interest was fully peaked now and they arranged to meet in 2 hours at Imperial restaurant at the Hotel Imperial. That worked out nicely for Kris. He could get laid then slide down and meet the target.

The plan was to get the doctor so interested in the possibilities of being able to offer the machine tooling along with the information on the memory stick that Kris would be at his side constantly. Kris then would be able to lift the memory stick at will and disappear.

As Kris was waiting at the front door for Rebekka, he saw a commotion across the street at the other hotel. 2 women were out front and one of them was clearly upset. It appeared she was upset at…the blond woman walking towards the Hotel Imperial. That had to be Rebekka.

Kris watched closely from the front door.

He thought his jaw dropped when the woman who was with the angry one turned and Kris saw her.

He had no doubt it was the beautiful Japanese woman from the airport café.

The 2 went into the Zur Wiener Staatsoper across the street. The same hotel as his target.

There were no coincidences in intel work.

But he just could not wrap his mind around this beautiful, young Asian woman as an operative.

He made plans to find out more about her later. For now, he would just watch and be careful. She might not look like an operative, but that look would make her extremely dangerous if she was.

Rebekka came in and kissed Kris on the mouth. Her tongue searching then finding his.

“Take me to your room, right now.” She hissed

Kris figured he had time so he led her back to his suite. Once inside the pair stripped out of their clothes and fell into the massive bed.

As he kissed the instep of her left foot, his erection hovering within an inch of her heated sex, Kris could not rid his mind of the image of the Japanese woman.

There were no coincidences, he thought again.

In their room, Rei was shouting at her friend. “WHAT IF YOU BLEW OUR COVER?! DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG AND HARD I WORKED FOR THAT INFOMRATION?!” she nearly went for the girl’s throat. But the biggest man in the room had to restrain her against himself. Rarely did the young operative loose her cool. But this was much too close a call. Had thought she felt eyes on her, but she didn’t know why. “Tomoya-kun, call the kind doctor then give him to me. I’m going to do some damage control.”

“But aren’t still a-“

“Koko, are you sure you tell your husband everything?” she threatened. For a moment, the women went silent as Tomoya started to dial, used to the girls ripping each other to shreds. Many wondered why he was single. One was distant and cold, the other was too crazy. He never found a middle. At least, not anymore.

The phone rang, he tossed over to Rei who easily caught and put it to her ear. “Good day, is this Kyong Doo-Hwan-sama?” she made her voice sound breathy. Most older men had trouble resisting. Not saying that they didn’t, but it was hard. Especially when she was sitting close to them, her hand dangerously close to a certain… part. “I’m calling on behalf of my husband who is, unfortunately, unable to be her e due to his business half way around the world.”

“I’m sorry, ma’am. He’s currently dealing with another phone call. But I could have him call you back?” the young male voice.

“Oh, if that would not be too much trouble!” she said happily. “It’s Tae Kun.” She gave him the hotel number and the room number. There was a pause on the other line.

“Wow, he’s becoming famous today! And lucky, by the sound of your voice!” the boy said, sounding jealous. Rei frowned at his, wondering why he was saying that. She looked over her shoulder and made a few signals, asking for a pen and pad.

“Whatever do you mean?”

“I mean, another dude called him… Pat… something. And he asked for him too. Also, you are on the same floor!” the boy said too much and must’ve realized this, before gasping. “Oh, please miss, don’t tell him!”

Rei rolled her eyes. “I won’t. But if you could have him call me back, I’m sure I’ll completely forget this matter.” She hung the phone looked down at her hand. “Well, well. Looks like he’s on the same floor as us. Why wasn’t that in the intel?!”

Everyone raised their hands in a surrending position. “We had no idea. I guess the bosses didn’t know either. So, what did the boy say?”

“That the doctor would call me back and that som-“

The phone rang once more. Rei answered it. She spoke quickly in Korean. “Hello, doctor, I am so glad you called me back,” she said happily, adding the cute effect on her giggle.

“How did you get-“

She cut him off. “My husband works in the dealings of international warfare. Unfortunately, he cannot be here for the next few weeks, and so I came in his place. But you see… I must leave in three days time. My aff-I have to smooth over some issues with our employees about their pay. Most of them have grandchildren and I want to make them happy.”

She purposefully slipped up.

“Oh, so you thought you could bid in his place?”

“No, sir… may I call you Kyong?”

“Of course.”

“Kyong, I must tell you the truth. It is not only my husband’s business that brings me to you, but I have always admired your work. Every time someone talks to you, my heart goes all a-flutter. I would love if I could meet my only one idol…” she trailed off, looking pale in the face, somewhat green and ready for a sick bag. She laid it on thick, but she just knew where too. She was a young woman, he was a disgusting lecher (in her opinion). She’d get it one way or another.

“… me?”

“Oh course. How about we meet face to face in the restaurant… let’s say… in two hours? I have so many questions to ask of you. And we could conduct business as well. I think I have just the thing for you… you won’t be able to resist it either.”

“In two hours then, Mrs.—”

“Oh, please, call me Tae. All my close, personal… affairs do. Until we meet,” she said and hung the phone up. Rei looked as though she would kill herself right there. “Why, why, why do I always do this?”

“You were built for sex,” Koko stated.

“But then again she never-“

“I’m getting ready. I want to get a good table where we can be alone. Lord knows what would happen if we were over heard. I want to get this done today, if possible. I’m missing my video games already,” she said and stood up, her hair framing her face. In two hours, she would be done. She needed help to choose out the perfect outfit. This… Patty dude could wait until later.

In two hours, she had no idea that hell would break loose.

Rebekka was on top.

She had both feet planted and was fucking Kris with force. Her blonde hair was flying around.

Then she threw her head back, her long hair hung to just above her ass.

“OHhhh Gott! Oh Gott! Das ich komme!”

Kris felt her orgasm spasm through her tight body. The feeling of her massive orgasm caused his own to boil up and he grabbed the back of her head and pulled her down to him. Their tongues met and he came with force, his cock sawing in and out.

Rebekka sagged against him then slid off to the side, panting heavily.

Kris checked his watch. He had 1 hour before meeting the target.

“Rebekka, come with me to my meeting. It should not take too long.” Kris went to the bathroom and started the shower.

Going back in the bedroom he saw her putting on her clothes.

“Are you not going with me?” Kris asked. He would have liked to have had her go to put on the role but she was not necessary.

“I am sorry. I really cannot. I should not have come here. I am married…and I don’t know what got into me.” Kris could see that she was upset.
“Alright. “ Kris moved close to her.
“I hope to meet you again, one day” He kissed her as she pulled away and ran for the door.

Well, no time to worry about that. He had a mission to accomplish.

After showering, Kris put on a Saville Row suit, with a bright red tie.

Then, on a whim, Kris decided to see what he could learn about the Japanese woman who he had seen earlier.

Donning his over coat he went outside into the cold, December night. The snow had started to fall again.

Once in the lobby of the Zur Wiener Staatsoper hotel, he looked around until he found the concierge stand.

He went to the concierge and asked, “Excuse me. I am looking for my friend. She is a beautiful Japanese woman. I missed her at the airport and I believe she said she was staying here. I was wondering if you could assist me.”

“Of course. What is your friends name?”
“Her name is Azumi Kato.”

Kris knew that was probably not her name. He made it up to keep the concierge talking.

“No, I am sorry. There is no one registered by that name here.”
“Oh…well I am certain I saw her come in here earlier. Perhaps she is here with a friend, could you tell me if there are other Asian women registered.”
“No, I am sorry but I can not disclose that information.”

Kris pulled out a 100 Euro bill and slipped it to the man. “Maybe you could look beyond the rules…just this once.”

The concierge smiled real big and began clicking on his computer

“The women you spoke of are staying in the penthouse on the top floor and the name of one of them is….Tae Kun.”

Kris smiled. “That is not my friend. Thank you for your help.”

That name was Korean. Kris was certain the woman he had seen was Japanese. A Japanese woman giving a Korean name was odd for sure. But not necessarily an indicator of another intelligence agency. But the fact she is staying in the same hotel, almost on the same floor as his target was sketchy to him. Maybe she was associated with Kyong?

Kris had walked back to the Hotel Imperial and found the restaurant. He spoke to the maitre de and advised him he was expecting a guest. Kris the asked for and got a 4 top table in a corner so he could see who came in the restaurant. Next, Kris ordered a 12 year old scotch that was to be brought to the table when Dr. Kyong arrived.

Sitting at the table sipping a Bombay Safire gin Kris could not get his mind off of the Asian woman.

Would the Japanese intelligence service know about Kyong and be trying to eliminate him?
No, if she was working she had to be Yakuza or some other criminal element.

Either way, it did not matter. He believed he would have the information in the next 72 hours and be out of Austria, no worries.

Kris saw more customers coming into the restaurant.

Good, he thought, let’s get this show on the road.

She had dressed with a low cut dress, but managed to make it look as though it was an accident. Koko helped with her makeup as Takashi gave her an earpiece. All five of them worked in silence. By the time she was ready, she really did look the part. Rei closed her eyes, steadying herself. She needed to remain calm and have the old cout touch her skin. “Well, if I die… I am so haunting you and generations after.”

“Deal. Now, go kick ass,” Koko said.

Rei moaned in pain but begrudgingly made her way to the elevators. “You owe me big. No, you know what? You clean the temple I’m rooming!” She muttered under her breath as the machine dinged and she stepped in. Her hair was piled on top of her head, allowing air to ventilate her neck. She closed her eyes, ignoring the music that was playing the background. Takashi would leave a message for Kyong, saying that his boss was in great need to see him. He would imply a worship of sorts. Oh, if she had to kiss the man, she’d get a terrorist to blow the pent house up!

Finally, the ground floor. Squaring her shoulders, Rei slipped into her character. Opening her eyes, Tae was back, the young, innocent but smart wife of a major business man. The young woman blended easily to the crowd, and she had to weave through them, before finally finding the restaurant. She looked at the host.

“Good afternoon, I have a reservation for two? Under the name of Kyong,” she said, smiling brightly. She reached into her purse and pulled out a picture. “This is my other party. Please, I beg of you, the moment he comes here, take him to my table immediately. There are some important matters that must be discussed.” Along with the picture, she slipped a good amount of money. The host smiled at her.

“Of course, madam. Your table is ready as you requested,” she said and led her toward the table in the far corner. In her line of sight was the man from the airport. She remembered some parts of his face, but in her mind, the flags were waving. This couldn’t be the Patty dude… could it? She smiled as she sat down, crossing her legs. Opening the menus, she pretended she was looking for some food.

‘C’mon Kyong,’ she thought. ‘I’m ready for you. Will you be arriving early or late?’ If he arrived on time, she’d be surprised. Tae took great strides to ignore the American sitting only a few tables away. She didn’t give him a chance to really look at her. After what seemed like forever, she heard the old man speak. Now, the question was, would he actually come to her?

A smile came to her face as he sat across from her. She put the menu on her lap, closing her eyes. Apparently she was supposed to start. “Dr. Kyong, I am so glad I could see you on such short notice,” she said, moving her hands to grip the chair. It was more for her sake than his. “You see, as I said on the phone, my husband is away and is unable to bid. And I am unable to stay longer than three days. I was wondering, if perhaps, I could get a copy of the data? I promise you, not only will we pay you handsomely, but we will be able to give you a twenty five percent return from the business my husband has already started.”

It would be a good deal. If her husband and the business was real. Luckily, her boss put up fake files.

“The offer seems to go to be true,” the doctor said, looking everywhere else but her eyes. “But why do you only want a copy?”

“Because, it would the best way to see you alone,” she smiled wickedly and winked. Instead, inner Rei was bashing her head against a wall, attempting to kill herself. “After all,” she moved her eyes down toward the floor, “I have ever so much admired you. You are much more of a man compared to my husband. While I do love him, he is never home.”

There was no wedding ring on either hand. She really was determined to get the data. Tae knew he wouldn’t give her the info, but to get into his room, she’d drug him and then search through his things. Or something like that. No way was she going to give herself up to that man! She allowed her hand to brush against his. “Unless,” she brought fake tears into her eyes, “you don’t like me like that.”

Oh, every shred of her dignity was falling away with this act. When she got home, she was going to murder several people in the most embarrassing manner for them!

Watching the entrance, Kris was actually not surprised to see the Japanese woman walk through the door.

She wore a low cut dress and Kris admired her legs, up to her ass. She was dressed to impress.

She sat at a table nearby, and then began to study the menu.

Why was she here, at the exact moment he was supposed to meet the target?

The working theory of, there are no coincidences in intel work, was proven the minute that Kris saw the target enter the restaurant, look around the room, then walk straight to the Asian woman. The woman worshipping Dr. Kyong did not even look for Kris. He saw her, then walked to straight to her and sat down.

She was in play.

She also was tying up the target.

There was no way the target had the memory card on him. Not if he was looking to get laid. The beautiful Japanese woman had him so busy trying to get between those gorgeous legs that the targets room was wide open.

Kris quietly got up. He left more than enough Euros on the table to cover everything and then exited the restaurant.

He crossed the street to the target’s hotel…and the Asian woman’s also, he needed to keep that in mind…and walked directly to the elevator.

In the elevator, Kris pulled a set of tools out of his overcoats inner pocket. They would help him pick the lock on the doors to the hotel room.
Next, Kris pulled his black leather gloves tight.

The elevator doors opened.

Using the information he had gotten earlier, he checked the numbers on the wall. Once oriented, he walked directly to Dr. Kyongs room. Looking around first, to insure no one was in the hall, Kris began working the locking mechanism with his tools.

It took only a minute, and then Kris heard the loud clicking of the lock disengaging.

Kris pulled his pistol out at the same instant he opened the door.
He slid into the room with no noise. He quietly closed the door and brought the pistol up. Kris began a quiet room to room sweep to insure that he was the only person in the room.
Assured he was alone in the targets room, Kris began looking around.

He checked the doctors lap top. The browser was Korean. Kris could not read it, but he knew when he was looking an email box. He took out his cell phone, snapped a picture of the list of emails.

He then began looking around the room for memory sticks.

He found the wall safe in the closet that was provided by the hotel.
It had a digital combination keypad. Kris had the device that would crack the safe, an electronic device, but it was in his room across the street.

Kris dug through the pockets of the clothing in the closet and found nothing. He next moved on to the bathroom.

Kris checked the toilet, lifting the top to the tank. Nothing. Next, he checked the towels and the cabinets. He found nothing.

Kris moved on to the kitchen. There was no food but there was an open bottle of scotch on the counter. Kris went through cabinets and the refrigerator. He found nothing. Kris was just starting to think that maybe the doctor did have the memory stick on him when he looked at the open bottle of scotch.

He looked closer then he saw it.

Suspended in the fluid was the memory card in vacuum sealed plastic wrap.

Kris picked up the bottle and studied it. The memory card was suspended in the middle of the fluid. To get it out Kris would have to pour the scotch out, which would be a dead giveaway. Damnit, he thought.

Well, he would have to take it and move sooner than he had wanted. He would have to improvise and adapt.

Just as Kris was going to pour the scotch out and take the memory card he heard the distinct sound of a key hitting the front door lock.

Moving like a ghost, Kris slid into an adjacent bedroom. It appeared that the doctor was not using it.

Kris closed the door until only a sliver of light was coming into the bedroom from outside.

Kris watched through the partially open door, waiting to see the doctor.

Rei had talked to the doctor, implying many things if she were allowed to just glimpse at the data. After what seemed like forever, he offered for her to come to his place and check it out. The innocent Tae Kun smiled and blushed before accepting. She noticed that the American wasn’t there anymore. Strange. Storing it the info for later, she could hear her partners laugh loudly. Oh, revenge would be very, very, very, very sweet.

“Tell me, my dear,” Kyong spoke as he escorted her to the door of his room, “why would your husband leave such a pretty thing like you by yourself?” She shivered as he touched her. She told herself it was just the wind and not him. Just. The. Wind. The door opened slowly.

“I want to help him as much as I can!” she said determinedly. “I want to prove to him how much I love him. So I’ll do anything, anything to make him see that!” She looked around. Some things looked touched. He motioned for her to sit on the couch on, so she did. Tae pulled her hair from her face, discreetly scanning the area around herself. If she were data, where would she hide? Not a computer—too common. The doctor was probably too smart for that. Her ‘company’ had sent him fake emails. She looked at the bathroom. Would it be behind a stall?

Over her shoulder, she saw him pour a drink. But what was more interesting than a the drink, was what was floating in it. A memory card! She mentally did a victory dance. She was so close, she could literally taste this. Reaching into her bag, she prepared the drug that would put him out.

“Are you thristy?”

“Yes, a little,” she admitted, looking into her lap. She heard him walking toward her, and putting a drink in her hand. She took a fake sip, not allowing the liquid to even go into her mouth. She could feel them go slightly numb. Ah, there was a drug in here. Leaning back, she smiled up at Kyong who held the stick in his fingers.

“You want this?”

“My husband does, yes,” she replied. ‘Come on, old man, get closer!’ She acted shy, forcing herself to blush. “I do not wish to be unfaithful to him.” She could hear the doctor chuckling and watched as he placed the stick in the center of the room, before coming back to her.

“Not even for your idol?” he asked, as he wrapped his arms around. It was then, Tae faded and Rei took over, quickly injecting him with the liquid.

“Not even for you old man. When you wake up again, Tae will only be a dream. And your stick will be gone,” she whispered into his ear, breaking hold. Rei was nothing, if practical. Putting on gloves, she took the glass she had in her hand and poured the remaining contents in a plant before putting it in her purse. “Night night.”

Her muscles tensed when she felt someone else in the room. Her eyes moved toward the stick. It was now or never. She couldn’t risk another country to get their hands on it. She started off at a run.

Kris could not see what was going on but he could hear the voices.

When it sounded like the doctor was making his move on the female, Kris moved silently back out into the hall. He got in a position where he could see.

Kris saw the doctor now holding the memory stick in his fingers. She had to be trying to get that from him.

Kris watched the woman take a sip of the drink.

The doctor moved closer to the stunningly beautiful object of his desire and put an arm around her.

Kris almost missed it.

The Japanese woman moved with such grace and fluidity he almost didn’t see her stick him with the hypodermic. Almost…

The doctor had a stunned look on his face for an instant then the drug took over and he slipped and fell to the floor. Kris did not know if he was alive or dead.

Kris broke his cover and moved silently up behind the woman.

Her movements were so subtle that even most trained observers would not have noticed.

But Kris did. It was what kept an operative alive.

She was eyeing the memory stick.

With explosive force she launched herself toward where the memory stick had fallen. Kris had anticipated that and moved to intercept her. He stepped in and shoulder blocked her, knocking her to the side.

With the reflexes of a cat, as she fell she launched a kick that struck Kris in the thigh causing him to buckle.

As he began to level his pistol to put a round through her skull, her left arm swung around and struck his wrist sending the pistol skittering across the floor.

Kris quickly recovered from the shock of the fight she was putting up and snaked his right arm around her extended left arm. He cinched it down tight, bending her left elbow the wrong way and then threw her back in the direction she came from.

Kris then moved for the memory stick. Before he reached it, her bare right foot landed squarely on the left side of his face. His ears now started ringing.

He dropped to his knees.

It was a feint and she moved closer. He fired his right fist into her stomach doubling her over. He stood and picked her up and threw her into the kitchen where she crashed into the stainless steel refrigerator.

He made a move for his pistol now, but she had recovered enough to throw a kitchen knife with deadly accuracy. It struck the table where his head would have been if he had not paused a heartbeat.

She closed the distance and delivered a vicious kick to his stomach, doubling him over.

What was supposed to be a simple snatch job had turned into one of the most vicious fights for his life he had ever been in…and by the look on her face, it was far from over.

She was pissed, as she fought with the man. Her body started to slowly bruise. She walked toward the man below her, her eyes flashing with fury. She raised her foot and kicked him once again in the stomach. Rei was suddenly brought down as he kicked her legs from under her. She used hand to throw the gun out of his reach. He then grabbed her wrist and twisted it the wrong way. She smiled.

Rei was double jointed.

“You son of a bitch,” she muttered, twisting around, causing him to release her. She took a step back, her fist up in a defensive stance. Closing her eyes for a moment, she tried to get her body to relax. Her ears began to pick up the sounds of his breath. Then, the race for the gun was on. He was a few feet a head of her, but she quickly closed the distance by jumping over the couch and sliding under the table. Realizing that her purse was closer, she twisted her body around, pulling out what appeared to be a matching glove.

Majority would think she was silly. But that glove contained a hidden blade. The blade was the length of her arm, from her elbow to her wrist. There was a small triggered that made it release itself at fast speeds.

The American had gotten the gun and aimed it at her. Taking the empty glass, she threw it at him, causing him to freeze for a moment as she moved in after him. It was then, she realized how short she was and used her body weight and momentum to topple him over. She sat over him, her wrist touching his jugular as his pistol as aimed at her temple. It was a stand off. They couldn’t make a move, they couldn’t say a sound. They just stared at each other. Her eyes showed her fury. She was a women who was used to getting the job down without a hitch.

She spoke first. “That is MY target,” she said, not looking her focus as blood dripped down her chin from inside of her mouth. She wanted to cough it out, but knew better. This was something she was not going to win if she showed a moment of weakness. Her body was slightly cut up, most likely from sliding under the table, forgetting that there had been broken glass. Luckily, none of it had decided to stay in her body.

The American didn’t say anything, as she had spoken Hungarian, so she spoke in English. “That is my target,” she said once more, her black eyes shining. She could go another round if needed, but she didn’t think she could go a third. Her body was somewhat curled over him, her eyes staring directly into his. “Take your American ass and get out of here!” She made her blade slowly come out, the tip barely breaking through his skin. “Even if you pull the trigger, there’s no chance you’ll survive the blade.

Her hand was placed on his chest to steady herself. It was hard playing hardass when you had trouble breathing.

The woman advanced and kicked him again in the stomach.

The movement put her in range again and Kris swept her legs out from under her. As she fell, she used her hand to toss the pistol out his reach again.

Kris grabbed her wrist and twisted it. He did not get the reaction that he was wanting.

Instead of screaming in pain, she smiled and said something in a language that was not Japanese…or Korean.

She twisted the opposite way and then was loose. The sexy Asian female had to be double jointed.

When he saw her close her eyes, Kris made a move for the pistol. She bolted but not for the pistol. Instead she slid under the table towards her purse. “Do what?” Kris thought. Getting your make up case may just cost you your life.

As Kris got the pistol and assumed a good firing stance he began the slow squeeze of the trigger that would send the round into her head and kill the beautiful woman, the woman threw the drink glass at him.

The move saved her life again. Damn, she is like a cat, Kris muttered.

She charged and knocked him on the ground. She landed on him, her wrist now touching the side of his throat as he brought the pistol up to her forehead, right between those seductive black eyes. Her eyes held absolute fury and hate.

She spoke in the language that Kris did not recognize. It had to be Eastern European because of the Slavic sounds.

In English she said, “That is MY target.” Then she said, ““Take your American ass and get out of here!”

Kris felt the tip of the hidden blade pierce his flesh and the warmth of his blood trickle down his neck.

Now Kris smiled. She was bluffing. She could not know he was American, so in French he said, “Je ne suis pas américain, je suis le Québec.”

Kris enjoyed the look on the beautiful young face.

In English he told her, “I am not American. I am from Quebec.”

The smile left his face as the full dimensions of the situation hit him.

She was correct; he probably would not survive if he pulled the trigger.

“Alright. We are in a lose-lose situation here. I don’t want to bleed out all over this immaculate hotel room and I don’t want to paint the ceiling with your brains. Maybe we can find a solution that does not involve us killing each other. But I would rather negotiate sitting at the table as opposed to laying on the floor.”

Kris had another problem.

It was that this tight bodied, sexy Japanese woman was sitting with her crotch on his. He felt the heat of her sex through his trousers.

Kris lowered the pistol and waited for her to remove the tempered steel blade from his throat.

“I am sure we can work this out.”

Rei raised her eyebrow. French? Really? Though it was a possible, Canada was still a part of North America. Hence, technically, she wouldn’t be wrong, just broad. “No. You get your ass out of here and let me get out of here with the Data,” she said, apparently still in fight mode. After a moment or two, she rolled off of him, and sat on the floor, bringing her knees to her chest. The blade had not left his neck.

Her eyes studied him, but there was nothing sexual about it. Oh yes, the young girl had a devious secret. She wouldn’t tell anyone though. After a moment, she pulled the blade back in and stood up on her own two feet. As she walked toward the purse, there was small droplets of blood. Clearly, her feet had been cut. Yet, she didn’t complain. Pulling out another needle, she went to the doctor and stuck it into his neck. While it wouldn’t kill him, it’d give the impression he went on a drunken rage. “We can discuss this in my room.”

She would be safe there. Surrounded by her own people. “I hope you won’t be bringing that blonde woman around,” Rei stated. She didn’t say any more on the subject as she looked down at her dress and sighed. It was her favorite one too. “Give me your shirt.” Without waiting for a response, she stripped herself of the clothing and broke one of the straps to her bra. Then she dialed hotel security. Before anyone answered, she looked over her shoulder. “Hurry up with shirt will you? And follow along.”

Oh, she was taking her anger out on Kyong, but they’d be able to leave with the disk no questions. Disguising her voice, she spoke. “I want to report a disturbance. You see, I was just about to go out when I heard a young woman scream for help. Luckily, a young man kicked open the door and found her . I think she was getting—yes, yes. Kyong. Thank you.”

Rei pointed at the door. “Well.. kick it in already.”

How lovely it was. Deciding not to wait, she yanked the shirt off of him and wore, before leaving the room entirely, taking the data with her. Kyong would be in jail just long enough for her to completely disappear. She stopped in front of her door, but heard noises. Noises she never wanted to hear. Oh dear, looked as though Koko had called her husband over. She put a hand on her face. Either that, or she was cheating again. Or they were watching something the company wouldn’t pay for. The spy really hated her team, sometimes.

Although, now she noticed it, she was surprised no one had decided to poke their head out at the racket. It was then, the girl in question, poked her head into the hall way. “Hey, Rei-sama,” the girl smiled. “Did ya get the Data?”

“In a manner… of speaking. I got found out. Another agent. He’ll be joining us. So, I’d like the rest of you to buzz off for a bit.”

“It’s only me here. Everyone else got hungry and decided to look for a nice sushi place,” Koko said and stretched her arms out. “Well, until then, see ya!” The Asian disappeared down the hall. Rei entered the room, finally alone.

Kris was in a way thankful when she rolled off of him.

Not that he didn’t like having a gorgeous woman sitting on him, crotch to crotch; it was just that moments earlier she had been trying to kill him so he needed to be careful with her.

She removed the blade from his neck.

She injected another hypodermic into the doctor’s neck. Then she said, “We can discuss this in my room.” While she was injecting him, Kris scooped up the memory stick and let it slide into his front pocket.

Kris did not like the idea of discussing the situation in her room. Mainly because he would not have control over what was happening.

She was on the phone with the police or hotel security now.

It took a minute for Kris to realize what she was up to when she demanded his shirt. When she started stripping down, Kris started to understand and took his suit coat off. He loosened then removed his tie.

He had unbuttoned the shirt and was in the process of removing it when she came over and removed it for him. He apparently he was not moving fast enough.

Standing in front of her, naked to the waist, he watched as she put on the Angelino, black pin stripe, dress shirt, covering her well toned body. It was a $200 shirt, and hung to mid thigh on her.

It was sexy.

Kris put on the suit coat over his naked torso, then went and found his overcoat and put that on. He stuck his pistol into the overcoat pocket, and then followed the Japanese woman.

They stopped in front of the door to her room and she seemed exasperated at the sounds coming from the room.

At that moment, Kris moved in close to the Japanese woman. The coats fell open and his chest and abs were pressed against her tight body. He felt her tense and move her wrist with the knife up towards his neck again. Her delicious eyes showed shock but certainly not fear.

Kris moved the fingers of his right hand over the left side of her face. His thumb grazed the pouty bottom lip that had been cut in their fight. He moved the finger tips along her face, and then ran his fingers into her shiny black hair. Very quickly he brought his fingers down to her left ear and removed the ear piece that was there.

“I already don’t like the idea of going into your room…with your team…I am already outgunned as it is.”

He showed the ear bud to her.

“I don’t want you getting some advice from some unseen person. You understand. You are a professional.”

The look of anger she flashed at him made her look even sexier.
Kris just chuckled softly.

The woman talked to another and eventually they entered the room.

Kris removed his overcoat. The suit coat remained on his shoulders, although it was open and exposed his chest and abs.

Kris watched as the woman began looking around. She started to appear desperate.

“Is this what you are looking for?” Kris held the data stick between the index finger and thumb of his left hand.

For an instant he saw hate in her eyes. It flashed hot, and then was quickly replaced with the innocent Asian beauty look. Kris was not buying it. The delicate Asian flower had come very close to killing him in 3 different, bloody, and painful ways.

“Save it. I am not buying the whole innocent routine anymore. You spin up your computer then we look at the information together.”

She went and booted the computer. When it was ready, Kris slid the memory card to her. Then he felt he had to add one more comment.

“If anyone comes in here, the first person to die will be you….” Kris said softly as he pulled his pistol out and held it down by his right leg.

She hated the American. She hated him, hated him, hated him, hated him! She did NOT enjoy the fact that he had the guile to actually touch her while she was standing there! And then to say that she got advice for a person! That nearly set her off the edge. She didn’t need advice! No, Rei was internally fuming, barely holding back her murderous rage. So as they were left alone in the room, she thought she had lost the disk. Till he showed it. Grabbing it, she went to the computer and allowed him to insert it. Then he threatened her once more. She turned to him, using his jacket to pull him down to her level.

“I cannot control the actions of my team,” she snapped, closing her eyes. “They are full grown adults who have minds of their own. But as they are looking for sushi, they will be gone for quite some time.” She closed her eyes before cupping his cheek. “Take your gun away from me.”She returned to the disk, her fingers typing away on the computer. Everything was in her home language. Frowned as she started to open the disk. This was… too easy.

As she finally cracked the access code, she stood up, causing the chair to fall to the floor. “That… little…” she didn’t finish as she turned to Kris. “You already took it, didn’t you?” She held herself back from actually punching him. “You already cleaned out the data!”She didn’t like liars. Not at all. In fact, they pissed her off. “You said we would talk about it, what are we going to talk about?!” she went off, more like ranting than anything else.

“I can’t believe it. I can’t believe I didn’t think of going in the moment I saw him. My god, the trouble I would’ve saved from dealing with a man like you!”She walked toward the middle of the room, pacing around. For some reason, the man got under her skin.* He really got completely under her skin. There was just something about him that made her want to scream. He may have been good looking, but as she really didn’t have much experience with the other sex (minus work), she wouldn’t know.

Rei was still wearing his shirt as she wrapped her arms around her self. “I am so going to be in deep shit,” she muttered in English. No doubt her boss would give her a nice long lecture.* She hated lectures. And it would be all because of the idiot in the room. She muttered some things in Hungarian. “All my hard work, for nothing. Do you not* know how much I scarificed?! My gaming time! I could have been playing my video games!” She switched to French. “And all because of you!”

She wasn’t thinking rationally.

[[Shot from exams... I hate exams.]]

WOW! She was mad.

He felt her pull him close to her. The warmth of her soft hands on his cheek felt really good to him.

“Take your gun away from me.” She said softly.

Kris put the gun in his overcoat pocket, but kept his hand on the grip.

She started banging away on the computer.
Then, suddenly, she bolted upright from the chair. It slid with force before falling over.
“You already took it, didn’t you?” She said, glaring at him with those beautiful eyes.

“What the fuck are you talking about?” Kris said
“You already cleaned out the data!” She was now really agitated.
“You said we would talk about it, what were we going to talk about?!” She was now pacing around.

She muttered to herself. When she said she was going to be in trouble, Kris thought that maybe, her life was now in danger from her boss for something.

“I don’t know what you are talking about. What is going on?” Kris moved to the computer.
When she started grumbling about her video game time, Kris had had enough.

“Listen, this fuckin thing is cutting into my game time also. I would much rather be playing Call of Duty then standing in this hotel room with the Japanese woman who just tried to kill me. So let’s stop being shitheads about this and solve the freakin problem…but oh, wait…I DON’T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS…YOU WANNA FILL ME IN!”

Kris looked at the screen. It was in character form, either Japanese or Chinese…some Asian language.

She moved beside him and said, “Someone has placed some dummy information on the stick. This stuff is so blatantly fake it has to be a joke. This information is like a science fiction novel. It refers to an ISU-SIM SSP05 hyper drive.” She said looking at Kris.

“So?” Kris said

The woman rolled her eyes, and then sighed heavily.

“That is a reference to the movie STAR WARS. It’s a part on the Millennium Falcon.” She said flatly.

Kris now stood up. The choices were that either the good Korean doctor was trying to shop bullshit to the buyers to make a quick buck or someone had already gotten the actual memory stick with the information and then replaced it with a fake. But who? Kris was certain the doctor was not trying to bullshit anyone. He loved money to much to risk any future sells by moving obvious crap. Besides, if he did that, someone would kill him.
Kris needed assistance. He wanted to look through the doctor’s room but with the police coming, that was not going to happen.
It was time for plan B.

He sat down at the computer and got online. After entering a web address he was on the Medieval Literature appreciation forum.

He signed in under the handle, Dangling participle.

He found a thread titled, Story/Plot line Assistance. He then wrote, “I am looking for a story written in Scandinavia during the medieval period. I think the plot was a doctor selling services against the order of the church. During the story, a villain came and took some magic potion from the doctor. I am trying to remember the name of the villain. Any help would be appreciated.” Kris posted the question, then sat back.

Somewhere at head quarters alarms were going off. The message told them everything they needed to know. From his sign in handle, they knew who was sending the message and what mission he was on. From reading the message, they knew that the memory stick was now in play and neither he nor the doctor had control over it. They were now checking computer databases and satellite imagery as well as taps on the video surveillance in the city of Vienna to get a lead for him. It was a matter of time now.

“Hey, I just put in an order for some help. We will hopefully know something real soon. I just thought of something, I don’t know your name. I am Patrice.”

He noticed the wounds on the bottom of her feet. He walked to the bathroom and got a wash cloth and put warm water on it. He then walked out where she sat.

Picking up her left foot he said, “You got some cuts there. Let’s get them cleaned up.”

He gently wiped at the cuts on the bottom of her foot.“You know, you have a pretty vicious kick.” Kris smiled up at her

He noticed the computer screen changed. He got up and went to the computer. There was a reply.

“I am familiar with the story you are talking about. The villain was a Persian called Arshan. He stole the potion and went to a town in what is now France, probably Paris. For a better synopsis you should look at the book, “The Great Authors of Medieval Literature”

So they believed that the Iranians had it and they wanted him to call the encrypted sat phone for the name. They did not want to give it out over the internet.

Kris jumped up and started to walk out. “Come on, we have to go. I need to get to my sat phone and make a call. It looks like we are going to Paris.” He said walking to the door.

She did not move.

“Listen, I am going after that memory stick. If you want to come, then let’s go. If not, I don’t care. I am offering you this chance.”

Kris paused at the door, waiting to see if the beautiful young Japanese woman was going with him.

“Come on, we have to go. I need to get to my sat phone and make a call. It looks like we are going to Paris.” He said walking to the door.

She did not move.

“Listen, I am going after that memory stick. If you want to come, then let’s go. If not, I don’t care. I am offering you this chance.”

Rei was ready within five minutes. She was fully dressed in a new outfit and had two bags waiting. She threw one of them at him. “No time. Our plane leaves in two hours. There’s some clothes—should fit you,” she said. “My Boss will pay for our tickets. Send your people to collect your things and have them shipped to this new address.” This was not the first time this situation this happened. To her, at least.

She was now dressed in a short black skirt, black combat boots, a white button up shirt with a black knee length coat. The young Japanese looked somehow different from the look she sported earlier. She would remind one of a young teen fresh out of high school. She also handed him back his two hundred dollar shirt. If her feet hurt, she made no comment as she walked down hall. In her bag, were supplies she needed to access the apartment. In that apartment was every single video game system known to man.

At least she’d be able to relax for a bit.

Standing in front of the elevator, she turned and tilted her head, looking Kris straight in the eyes. “Come on, I thought you wanted to go. But I can always go by myself,” she stated and closed her eyes, feeling a little dizzy. That kick to the head must’ve been worse than she thought. She rubbed her hand against the small bump.

As Rei heard the ding, she looked over her should, eyebrows raised. Letting out a sigh, she walked over to him, took his arm and dragged him along with her, not caring if he was protesting. She could always sic Koko on him. She was insane when her ‘ReiRei’ was sad.

“I’ll work with you—but only to an extent. I’ve been going after Kyong for a long time. My people have been watching him and because of that, I get first claim, American,” she stated, as she looked straight ahead. “Then you can make a copy, as obviously, you don’t trust me to make you one.” Probably a smart move too “But once the copy is made and I find out your government has decided to create it, I will kick your ass.”

She would’ve said kill, but just then the door opened.

“Ah, Tae Kun,” the older woman greeted, standing next to the girl. “How are you? I haven’t seen you in hours.”

“I’m sorry I missed tea time, Mrs. Gwoon, but I had… pressing matters,” she replied easily. She noticed that the woman looked between her and the American.

“Pressing, huh?”

“Not like that,” Rei said quickly. “He’s just a friend of a friend of a friend,” she stated, sending Kris a warning look to not mess this up. Unfortunately, she had a feeling that he’d be getting his revenge. And she had already stored her weapons away. He still had his gun.

The old woman missed nothing, but only smiled. Mrs. Gwoon was a retired match maker for Japan, China and Korea. At a hefty price, she would find your perfect mate. Clearly, these two were not such a pair. From what she gathered from the interactions, they both hated each other. "Oh, Tae," the woman said. "You must truly love your husband. I saw you with Dr. Kyong... were you the young woman-?"

"Of course not!"

When the woman left and came back in a new set of clothes, her appearance had changed completely.

She had done a really good job of altering her appearance for everyone else. But Kris knew that though she appeared as an innocent college student, she was deadly.

She threw a bag at him telling him to come on, that her boss was going to pick up the price of the tickets. That was nice, but it did not change anything.

Waiting for the elevator, she began explaining how she had worked for a long time on this target and she would get first claim.

Kris was in the process of telling her she could go to hell, and that he would let her make a copy and he would have the original…if they even found the original when the elevator dinged and the doors opened revealing the older woman.

As she was trying to explain away Kris’ presence beside her, Kris smiled and moved closer to her. He was almost touching her.

The older woman referred to her as “Tae”. Kris now had the feeling that was a cover name.

Kris snuggled closer to Tae, laughing hysterically on the inside.
When the elevator reached the ground floor Kris said, “You do what you want. I have to go to my room and make a call. I mean, if you want a clue as to where the data stick is. You can go ahead without me if you want. You can start from scratch with trying to locate the stick.”

Kris left the front of the hotel and crossed the street.

Tae waited then followed, her eyes flashing hatred.

Kris opened the door to his suite, and then stood aside showing her inside.

He went to the safe and entered the code. He pulled out the encrypted satellite phone and toggled a switch.

There was the sound of whirring then some clicks as the encryption came online.
Then a voice came on the line.

“Say your routing number.”
This was the code for him and his assignment. Head Quarters were expecting his call.
“This is an Alpha 2 Kilo priority, routing number, Echo, Lima, Hotel, 48205683, Golf, Tango.”

There was a 10 second pause, then “Authenticate Uniform Yankee”
Kris replied, “Juliet India”

The voice on the other end then said, “Did you read the in-flight magazine on the trip over?” This was a duress signal question. If Tae or anyone else were holding him at gun point he would have replied with “Yes, and I completed the crossword puzzle.”
But since he was not under duress his reply was, “No, I read a copy of the New York Times.”
“Standby.” The voice said.

Then the next voice was the director of field operations.

“What the fuck Kris?”
“I wish you assholes would have told me that there are at least 2 other players in this game. James Madison University or Kansas State was working the same target. And it looks like Iowa has the prize.” Every country with a decent intelligence apparatus was assigned an American college as a code name.

“How do you know this?”
“Because one of their players tried to kill me…3 fuckin times. But we have reached a cooperative solution…for now.”
“Are they there with you?”
“Yes…and she will be going with me…I think.”
“Can you get us some information?”

Tae was glaring at Kris.

“Not at this time. Tell me what you got.”
“Ok, an Iranian embassy attaché named Mansoor Maradi was picked up on the street level video cams entering the hotel where the target was late last evening, before you arrived. We had to go into the archives to find it but his face was 98.762% verified by the recognition software. That name is listed on the next Air France Flight leaving Vienna for Paris. We are prepping your flat on the Champs-Elysees. Are you using French passport number 30487205-6?”

“Yes, Stephane A’Bois”

“Ok, we believe he may be going to a hotel in Paris first, before going to the Iranian Embassy. He wants to make sure he isn’t followed. He will be staying on the 2nd floor of the Renaissance Paris Vendome. Also, he will have a body guard detail in the lobby as well as in the hallway, so I hope you don’t mind scaling the outside of the building.”

Kris did not like the idea of trying to scale the outside of the building. It had been a while since he had to do anything like that. Maybe he could figure something else out.

He rang off and switched passports. He took all the Euro in the safe, change clothes from a suit to a more relaxed look. A fleece sweater, some khaki pants, and trainers. He scooped up his leather jacket and placed his weapon back in the safe. The cleanup crew would be there shortly to sanitize the room.

To Tae, he said, “Ok, we can go now. After you....Oh yeah, I almost forgot...I know where the data stick is.”

Kris smiled real big as she shot her now famous death look at him.

Rei would have won the Nobel Peace prize for not killing the man right away. The fact she kept her mouth shut and didn’t kill him for the fourth time would’ve promoted her. She decided not to reply to the taunt but simply kicked him in the shins, taking advantage of her short stature. “And my boss wonders why I don’t like Americans,” she muttered under her breath as she pulled on one of her gloves. She could easily get by security.

Also, she had heard the scaling of walls. Kris didn’t seem to happy. For her, it was easy as pile. And while most agents would need rope or support of sort, she didn’t need anything. It was quite easy for her to leap from roof top to roof top. Many had made the references from Assassin’s Creed.

She didn’t mind.

“So tell me, is the attitude just that bad,” she started to say, “or are you just compensating for something?”

She quickly flagged down a taxi, throwing both of her bags into the trunk. Rei decided to sight in the back, feeling more comfortable. The cab driver, decided to strike up a conversation. “Kinda threw your bags in there,” he said. “Problems?”

“Just a jack ass,” she muttered, crossing her legs and leaning against the window. The would think she had trouble in love… an internal smirk came across her face. Hey, why not make Kris suffer for it? “He likes to treat me like…”

“Aw, you should leave him then,” the man replied. “Still, not my place to say anything.”

Rei smiled sweetly as Kris sat inside, obviously not happy to be sitting next to her. The cabbie had the front door’s lock unfortunately broken. She leaned into him. “This is him,” she smiled an all too sweet smile. “He does have his moments when he’s nice.” She sent him a silent message: I’m getting us a free ride.

“But you see, he finally proposed to me last night, only, he forgot my name,” she sighed softly. “Still, it is something to be expected. He decided to take me to Europe on a tour, just so I can’t say he doesn’t take me anywhere.”

She smiled even wider at his growl. Still, she leaned away from him. “Tell me, how are the cafés over there? I heard they had some very lovely coffee and crepes,” Rei said, actually giving a real smile. Perhaps she had some good memories in that country. “I heard they had such beautiful views…”

The taxi driver just shrugged as he didn't know what to say. "Well, I don't know, little lady, but I'd be careful that that bloke isn't snatched away by some pretty French girl," he said.

Rei shrugged. "Well, it probably won't be the first, nor the last. I trust him though, isn't that right, sweetie?" After that, she leaned against Kris and put her lips to his ear. "At least I can scale the Tower without strings." She did overhere some parts of the conversation. At that moment, her cell vibrated.

"Agent Rei," the voice was soft, but firm and hard. "Tell me, why did I get a call from the American Field Director?" She slightly winced.

"Because he's a jackass?"

"That too, but that is not what I am talking about," he replied. "Tell me, why did he ask if I would be okay in getting a copy of the data?"

"Because the both of them are a jackasses?" she responded in Japanese. "Look, the data was already taken. Clearly, they like Star Wars. We're heading over to their current location right now."

She looked over at Kris. "One of the jackasses is with me. Can I kill him once the mission is over?"

"Rei," the voice sounded sympathetic. "As much as I would love to tell you yes, my morals-"

She let out a short chuckle.

"-MY MORALS do not allow me to authorize such a thing. So no, you can't kill him, no brink of death... don't try me little lady. Or I'll tell them about that-"

"Yes sir," Rei responded and hung up, smiling at both men. "Fathers. Gotta love them."

The shock of pain from Tae’s kick to the shins made Kris inhale deeply through the nose…but he did not cry out.

She was spunky and cute as hell, but Kris was half a heart beat from firing a straight punch to her chest.

He elected not to.

Having changed his clothes, he and Asian woman went down to get a cab to the airport.

When she posed the question about his attitude, his response was matter of fact, “I am compensating for having to drag a Japanese agent all over Europe in an attempt to stop criminals and dictators from gaining the knowledge to create nuclear weapons.”

In the cab, Kris heard the conversation between “Tae” and the cabbie but was not really paying attention. He had more pressing issues to consider. Like how in the fuck was he going to scale the side of a building then bound roof top to roof top until he reached the hotel the new target was staying. Once locating the hotel, he would then have to scale down until he reached the correct window. He had to get in, located the memory stick, remove it and get out all without alerting the target or his security detail.

That was when she whispered that she could scale the building. Yeah…right…of course she could.

He was now seriously considering using plan B. Plan B involved walking into the hotel, killing the security personnel in the lobby, then going to the room and killing everyone up there and taking the memory stick. But that was not subtle enough.

It would involve the Paris Police and would increase the difficulty level by a magnitude of 10. They would need a new plan for exfiltrating the country. They would have serious…..WHOA.

He was thinking in the plural. He did not have to worry about the Japanese agent, for Christ sake. Yet, he was. He felt like he needed to get his head straight and get the gorgeous female out of his thoughts.

Kris turned and stared at her legs.

They arrived at the airport and cleared security. Kris had to smile and be impressed. “Tae” had got through security with those evil knife gloves on. She had to be using her good looks or something.

The flight to Paris took almost 2 hours.

Now using the cover of Stephane A’Bois, a professor at the University of Sorbonne, Kris cleared passport control easily.

Kris noticed that “Tae” was getting grilled by the customs officer. Well, not grilled as much as being hit on. The French officer was smiling and chatting away.
In French, Kris told the officer that she was his graduate assistant that they were needed at the university for a symposium, but that she was really nice and he could call her later on.

They took a cab to the flat. The agency had prepared the flat. In the safe were more Euro and 2 pistols and ammunition. Also, there were some radios with ear pieces and throat mikes. Kris also found a paper thin GPS tracking devise. It was a tiny oval.

A note with that devise said that he should use it to track the Japanese agent.

Kris now began to think about what she said about being able to scale the buildings. A plan began to form in his mind.

Kris pulled out a map and called her over.

He showed her where they were on the map and where the hotel the target was at. It was 7 blocks north of where they were. There were 2 small alley ways she would have to cross. The target was in a room with a window on the front side of the hotel. He was on the second floor. It was 3 stories above the street on the east side of the building.
Kris said he would proceed to the hotel on foot. He would enter the lobby and monitor the security detail there. “Tae” would scale the rooftops and enter the room through the window, secure the memory stick then exit the same way. If anything went bad Kris would cover her by creating a scene, or maybe just kill the Iranians. Either way, once they regrouped back at the flat, she would turn the memory stick over, the data would be copied and then she and Kris could part ways.

That was if everything went exactly as planned.

Without saying anything to her, he was also making plans to kill her and take the data stick if she tried to double cross him.

Kris could tell she did not like being dictated to, especially by him.

When she had changed into the clothing she would wear while scaling the buildings and they both put on the radios, ear pieces, and throat mikes, Kris said, “It’s a good plan. We will meet back here when you advise you have the data stick. Hell, I may even buy you dinner. Alright, let’s go, Kiddo.” With that Kris smacked her on the ass.

It was the only way he could think of for planting the tissue paper thin GPS tracking devise.

Rei had to go through security. The woman held her breath as she walked through the metal detector, releasing it slowly as it didn’t go off. She had to thank her Tomoya once she got back. He was a genius when it came to fooling the machines. Still, after a minute of waiting for her bag, she quickly caught up with Kris, not saying a word.

The flight was two, long, hellish hours. But luckily, she was able to sit in first class and the most comfortable seat ever. Kris was in another ailse, away from her. Rei didn’t mind that. But it was the fact she had to work with him and she didn’t trust him. Just as much as she didn’t trust a dog. Too damn loyal.

She stretched her arms up as she walked once more toward the customs, her bag slung on her back. She too, had another passport with the name Lukia Bellarose, a young reporter who was working on another degree. As she showed her password, the man decided to hit on her. She tried to hurry it up, giving him smiles and hints that she was in rather a hurry. “Please sir,” she said softly in French, “I am in rather a hurry. My boss needs me—“

Kris caught her off, nearly telling the man what she was going to say—minus the fact that she’d receive his call. He dragged her away, and pushed into the taxi cab, ignoring her growls of discontent. She sighed softly and looked out the window, taking in the scenery. A lazy smile came to her face, as she forced herself to take mental pictures. Why didn’t she decide to live here?

She followed him up to his flat, her hands behind her back as she looked around. Hmm, it was cleaner than she would’ve imagined. In the corner of her eye, she saw her scaling gear. So, apparently their two bosses decided to work together for now. She went to it, getting on her knees and slowly opened the case. There was the outfit she would be wearing going in, and another one going out. There was also some sleep gas, tear gas and some small throwing knives. She pulled out a small bag and quickly packed the second set of clothing in there, before the male noticed what she was doing. She put in the tear and sleep gas, careful not to activate them.

At the bottom was a small note in her home language.

“Rei,

Be nothing more than a shadow around this man. Do as he says and the moment you get the disk, destroy it. I rather no one get it. The runaway suit has been reinforced, as you requested. The throwing knives are at their peak and the chloroform clothe is ready for use.

Good luck.”

Although, had anyone else been reading it, it would look and sound more like a love letter. If Kris had decided to read it, if he could read Japanese, it would be more along the lines of how much they loved Rei and that once she got back if they could go out for coffee or to the arcade.

He called out for her and walked next to him, looking at the best route. It would require a lot of roof jumping but otherwise, “A piece of cake. That isn’t even that big of a challenge.” Well, she just said that to get a reaction. But in reality, it wouldn’t even make her sweat.

---

She had knee kicked him close the groin after that smack on the ass. She didn’t know there was a tracker planted on her. Her black body suit framed every single one of her curves and looked more like it was painted on, than anything else. Pulling herself through the window, she began to scale up the wall till she reached the roof and pulled herself to the top. She counted backwards, steadying herself before she took a few steps back wards and ran, throwing herself over the ledge and landing neatly on a near by roof.

Her body moved with the momentum, quickly gaining speed as her muscles remembered what to do. The wind seemed to move with her, making her look as though she was gliding, her feet barely touching the ground. As she threw herself against the hotel’s wall, her fingers clinged to the window sill above her, as her lungs started to cool down. Rei used her arms to heave herself up and scaled the wall until she found the right room. Too bad it she would have to jump to the right to actually get it. Growling at her miscalucation, she lightly swayed her body side to side before pushing off and reached her arms out.

Score!

She swung one of her legs over, and hoisted her body up, letting her pack fall into the hardwood floor. To her right she heard a voice gasped and noticed it was a girl. She easily dodged the pillows and straddled the young woman, on hand on her throat, the pack’s strap still wrapped around one of her arms. With her free hand she pulled out the chloroform clothe and replaced her hand with it. The woman attempted to fight the Japanese but lost as the chemicals did their job.

Rei stripped off her body suit and changed into another. The pants were form fitting but loose around her ankles somewhat. Her shirt was cotton thin but black. It wasn’t a ‘v’ neck, not that she didn’t look good in one. After several minutes of looking around for the disk, she realized that it was a trap. She moved to hide the body suit, her shoe unknowingly transferring the tracking device back onto her. Just as she reached out to jump from the window, an arm wrapped around her waist, and a hand clamped over her mouth.

All she knew was that it wasn’t the American, and it wasn’t someone who let her go free.

‘Shit.’

Kris had been around the young woman long enough to know that she was not going to just let him smack her tight little ass.

He sensed the knee before he saw the movement and was able to rotate his body before knee hit the danger area. It still hurt though.

The form fitting black body suit really displayed her athletic body. It was almost like she had another layer of skin. Her legs and arm muscles rippled through the cloth as Kris watched her climb out the window. Kris was really battling his own body trying to resist biological things that looking at the beautiful woman was causing.

Once she was out, he attempted to do a radio check with her but she did not reply.
“So, it’s going to go like that.” He thought.

Kris preformed a function check on the silenced pistol, and then tucked it in the small of his back. He pulled on a large fleece jacket and went out into the cold night air.
He walked the distance to the hotel and went into the lobby.

Kris spotted 4 men who were obviously Persian. They were spread out within the lobby and were trying hard to blend in.

It wasn’t working.

Kris rounded a corner and again tried to raise “Tae” on the radio. Still nothing.
Kris got on the elevator and went to one floor below the target room.
Just as Kris was about to get really angry the radio broke squelch in his ear. He thought he heard her voice say, “Shit”, and then nothing.

That could not be good.

Finding an empty champagne bottle outside a room door, Kris scooped it up and climbed the stairs to the next floor.

In the hall, he moved quickly yet silently then turned right. He saw the 2 guards outside the door.

Doing his best drunk impression Kris staggered down the hall. When he closed to the perfect distance, stammering in slurred French, Kris stopped. Both men turned to face him.

Acting like his back hurt, Kris dropped the bottle and rocked back continuing to speak in slurred French.

He gripped his pistol, a silenced Beretta 92 F, and then brought the gun out in a 2 hand grip. He fired, moved the weapon a hair to the right and fired again. Both rounds found the foreheads of the men and they dropped like a sack of potatoes.

In fact, the sound of the bodies hitting the floor was louder than the weapon firing.

Kris took a position to the left of the room door, paused then kicked the door in and then returned to the position next to the door. He waited exactly 4 seconds then moved quickly into the room.

Directly in front of him, on the wall opposite of the door, he saw a large man, Iranian, and he had “Tae” by the waist and off the ground. His other hand was covering her mouth.

That indicated 2 things to Kris. The Japanese woman who had been a total pain in his ass for the last few hours could not speak. That was kind of good. But more importantly, the bad guy did not have a weapon in his hands.

Kris looked at her in those exquisite brown eyes. A very faint, barely perceptible smile came on his lips, and then he shot the goon between the eyes, the round mushrooming then exploding the top of his skull.

“Hey, good work ninja assassin, how did you get hung up like that? Oh, and it looks like you have some of his brain matter in your hair, by the way.”

Kris then said, “Did you get the data stick by any chance?”

Rei glared at him, and had been using her legs to try to kick the other male off. He had muttered some rather disturbing things in her ear. Like how much ‘fun’ he was going to have extracting information from her. She was just about to use her knife when Kris came in—the smug bastard!—and killed the man.

“Hey, good work ninja assassin, how did you get hung up like that? Oh, and it looks like you have some of his brain matter in your hair, by the way.”

Rei flicked him off as she stood up, kicking the dead man in the groin. “I hope it hurts in hell you asshole!” she muttered. Then she turned to the other asshole in the room. “It was a set up. The girl distracted me-” she pointed toward the sleeping female “-have fun with her, but I didn’t hear or see anyone else in the room.” She frowned at this. Clearly, she wasn’t used to being surprised.

“Did you get the data stick by any chance?”

“It was a set up,” she replied, pulling out the disk. It did not look like the one they were previously after. “They knew we were following them. He probably made the switch off before we arrived here. But I can tell you we are going to head to Istanbul.” She grabbed her bag and sighed. It was then she felt something wrong. Something… was running down her back and it wasn’t brain matter. She felt a small ache and reached behind her, to pull her fingers forward.

Wha?

Oh, right, the chloroform. She let out a sigh of relief. Well, at least it was the diluted one. She shook her head before walking out the door, a rather angry look on her face. Oh, if she was Koko, she’d probably be looking for a one night stand. As this was Rei, she was just frustrated about how to release it. Noticing two dead bodies she looked over her shoulder. “That really was excessive. You could’ve just gone close and used their pressure- oh, right, you’re an American.”

She raised her arms up, which caused her shirt to rise several inches. She turned right and started to walk down the hall, knowing that time was of the essence. But still, they wouldn’t be able to go anywhere until their agencies got a lock on. She pulled out her cell, a smile on her face. She talked in Japanese once more.

“What is it Rei?”

“It was a decoy. All I know is that the disk is in Istanbul,” she said softly. “I don’t know who has it, or where in that city it is. I’ll need two new identies. One for me, and one for him.”

“Sure,” her boss said, already getting an idea. “I’ll just ask the American and see what he thinks, it may be our only chance.”

She hung up on the man and sighed. She really just needed to rest on a nice comfy bod- bed! Bed! She meant bed! Not the hot headed, sexy- bad Rei! She shook her head, shivering in disgust. The spy then waited for Kris to come and catch up with her, letting out a small sigh. Her black eyes were so focused on the floor, she missed the fact she wasn’t alone.

“What a pretty Asian you are,” one of them said the voice deep. Rei didn’t dare to raise her head. “I was wondering if you could settle a problem for us. You see, my friends claim they saw someone like you climbing up these walls.”

“I am sorry,” she said, still not looking up. “I’m afraid I do not climb up walls.”

The leader, clearly not taken in by her acting, slammed his fist close to her face. “Do not play games with me, Asian! The noises we heard were not that of the woman he was it. No, no doubt it was you,” he said, his other hand forcing her face up. “Ah, what a pretty face.”

She looked away, knowing that while she could take them all, she didn’t want the risk of nosy Parisians and tourists to stick their noses where it didn’t belong. So, she did the only thing she could do.

Wait for that bastard asshole of an American.

Kris moved through the hotel room trying to find the disk.
He searched the desk and in the bedroom. He found nothing. He searched the body of the dead man and found even less.

“Tae” said that it was a set up and the memory stick was gone

Damn it….

“Tae” was on the phone, probably with her handlers. She was speaking Japanese so Kris did not know what was said but he could tell she agitated. She could not find the memory stick either.

Kris continued to look around. He found the passport for the naked woman in the bed.

She was French and probably was just picked up by the Iranian and ended up here. Wrong place…wrong time.

“Is she dead?” Kris asked. He got no reply because “Tae” had left the room. Kris was actually impressed with how she could move around in total silence.

Kris straightened himself and went out into the hall way, dragged the bodies of the first 2 men he had shot were dragged into the room then he closed the door behind him.
Kris walked down the hall and turned left trying to get to the elevator.

Ilya Demidov had tried to prevent Kris’ first termination assignment in Beirut. He was a low level FSB agent who was not very smart and probably should not have been in the field. Kris had easily maneuvered around him and was able to terminate that target and Demidov had been trying to get Kris back ever since.

The man could hold a grudge.

Now, the Russian, and 2 of his toadies had “Tae” jammed up against the wall.

Kris wanted to scream. The Russians were now onto this memory stick. This was not good, no matter how stupid Ilya Demidov was. How are these agencies learning about this?

“Hello Ilya. Are you enjoying December in Paris?” Kris said as he slid closer to the group.

“Tae” was against the wall, Ilya was in front of her and his toadies were standing to her left and right.

“Ahhh, Agent Kris Fowler. Why are the Americans working with the Japanese on this?” there was a long pause, then “I want the memory stick.” Ilya said in English.

“She is not working with me Ilya. She has nothing to do with this.” Kris said softly

“We are sure we saw her jumping to the roof of this place then scaling down to the room. You know, as well as I do the Japanese do not want the North Koreans to get more improved nuclear weapons. They have more of an interest than you Americans do. But as it turns out, I am here now and I want the memory stick.”

“Ilya, you have it wrong. The Japanese may want to the information but they aren’t working with us or anyone else.”

“Then who is the beautiful, young Japanese lady?”

“Ilya, you know that I always hire hookers for my cover. I hired this prostitute to act as my escort. She has nothing to do with this. Let her go.”

“I see…she is a prostitute. Well, tell me, my old nemesis, how is she in bed? Does she moan like the Japanese girls in the movies do? Tell me Kris, does she squirm and rake her nails on your back as she cums? Tell me Kris, how good of a fuck is she? Her life depends on your answer.” Ilya pulled her close to him.

Kris knew he would only kill Ilya if he pulled his weapon. The other 2 would surely kill him.

“Tae” had assumed the submissive Asian role and cast her eyes down and away.
This was a really bad situation.

“Ilya just let her go. She has nothing to do with this. Just let her go.”

Ilya Demidov laughed and said, “Kris, I bet she is a thorough bred when you fuck her, am I right?”

Kris thought that there was only 1 way out of this predicament and it doesn’t end well for him and “Tae”. Just as he was preparing for the final shootout Kris saw what possibly, was an out.

Kris saw the loop of string over “Tae’s” right middle finger. She was still wearing those evil gloves.

“Ilya, she is a fantastic kisser. She has a hot little tongue that does amazing things…you should kiss her. It is amazing and you will NEVER forget her kiss.”

Kris saw her beautiful brown eyes glance up at him. He could not tell if she was mad.
Kris made a motion as though he was checking the time on his wrist watch, praying she clued in.

It was their only hope.
