The Temple Of Desire

Summer

One of the guys, huh? Okay, she could handle that.

"I'm sure you'll figure out how..."

Glancing around, she saw literally mountains of gear, but none of the owners.

"Where is everybody?"

Putting on a mocking voice, with a somewhat motherly undertone, she teased him,

"Oh Samir, you disappoint me. You haven't gone and let them get eaten by cannibals ALREADY, have you?"

OOC: Lyssa's there, she's just being snotty. She's decent at it. 'Sides, you guys look like you're having fun and I'm willing to pause until the prof gets us under way.

*HE grinned broadly*
Nawww...I dont usually let people get eaten....usually....

*he chuckled quietly at his own joke, and leaned back*

I think the professors at the Map Office, Ahhhh theres Misses 'I-am-so-smart-that-I-have-a-stick-up-the-stick-up-my-ass'

*he Bellowed laughter and pointed over to her*

I think thats just about it....The prof might have the guide with him....otherwise....Heh.

Summer

She glanced in the direction of the woman he was referring to. You could barely see her beyond the backpacks, chests, crates, and cardboard boxes. With only five people she wondered what the hell they needed all that...that...junk for. This was the smallest expedition she had worked with...gotta love the family-like atmosphere, she thought sarcastically to herself.

"That makes us the best of the best of the best then, huh? Or at least the only ones stupid enough to give up our precious vacation time to take a leisurely stroll through danger-ridden jungle searching for something none of us have been informed about."

"Best of the best more likely...Of course, If this goes well, I might get that Position on Delta Force I've been drooling over scince Desert Storm.."

*he grinned broadly over at her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders*

Ahhh dont worry. I've got a gut feeling we're gonna find somthing on this...and my gut hasnt lied to me yet!

*he beamed at her*

Summer

She let him rest his arm on her shoulders, half a head shorter than him she supposed she was the perfect size. And anyway she knew it was one of those *buddy-buddy* male bonding rituals that always seemed rather pointless and laughable to women.

"Well, I'm not sayin' I'd like to make this town my permanent home...but hell, it's gotta bar, how bad can it be? I'm curious to see happenin' the nightlife scene is in this place..."

Leading him over to the roughly hewn wooden building, she ducked her head as he raised the makeshift curtain over the door, and stepped from the brutal sun outside to the stiflingly still air inside.

*He chuckled and walked in with her*
I've been here longer than you....trust me, there IS no night life here...Well unless you count one Ex-Navy Seal a nightlife..

*he grinned and winked broadly at her*

Can I buy ya a drink or somthin? It's on me..

*he winked again at her in that same, friendly way*

"Lets see...no wine list on the tables...so I'll make the assuption its beer, beer, or more beer. You don't want to know whats in that stuff --- I made the mistake of asking a local once."

She grinned at this, and glanced over to where the professor and 2 rugged looking guys were tossing back bottles of it, grimicing and making faces, but swallowing just the same.

"Hope you don't mind if I take a rain check."

Same here. I prefer a Solid Brandy, but I guess I'll have to wait till We get back for it..

*he looked somber* The one trip I forget to bring my canteen on and I want it the most!

*he crossed his arms and huffed*
Well If we cant get a drink, maybe we can go off and figure out what else we could do together..

*he grinned slowly at her*

Summer

"Well if there's anything better than drinking, its..."

She paused to let him determine his own answer to the rhetorical question.

"...exploring."

Smiling, she figured that wasn't precisely what he had in mind. Not far from here were the Ki' Falls, a set of waterfalls and tropical pools named after the native's Great Earth Spirit. Needless to say, it was definitely perfect swimming weather. Grabbing his hand in hers, she pulled him back out the door, waving to the Professor who had ignored them the entire time, being in what looked like a council session with his two advisors.

"Follow me, I want to show you a place the captain of my chartered plane told me about. But you mustn't breath a word about it to anyone else...it's supposed to remain a secret place...and the Yamoca'n Zinato Yaya {3 Evil Spirits} will getcha if you don't watch your back..."

"Getting drunk?"

*he grins at her awanser*

"Oh! Exploring is fun too!"

*he grinned at her, and soon found himself being hauled away*

"Whoa! Okay okay! I wont tell anyone, gotcha. *he winked broadly at her and allowed himself to be led by here* Where are we going anyway??""

Summer

Summer licked her lips, almost out of habit, as she squinted up at him against the late afternoon sky sitting low on the horizon.

"Oh, I'm gonna take you places where the defining lines between fiction and reality melt away...places your conscious mind never dared to consider...and where your subconscious have seldom brushed on."

She smiled at his slightly confused face.

"Ki' Falls, if you must know. The best swimming, fishing, and skinny dippin’ spot this side of the Amazon."

*he chuckled openly, he shook his head helplessly...Oy, She had a certian flair for the Dramatic...ah well, That made her that much more attractive, he grinned broadly at her and followed her as quick as his feet would take him*

Okay, Okay...Yeesh. Well If it is that good then what are we walking for!?!

*He grinned imperiously at her*

Summer

She could have stood there all day staring at his open grin, but he prodded her verbally before she had a chance to sink deeper into her day dreams.

The sun faded its way through the branches, their shadows skipping to keep ahead of them. She found the well-traveled path quite easily, and made a slightly overdone bow.

"This way, Monsieur."
