Methinks I'll go for the happy ending.
That's funny. I had the same thought. Was she so saddened over reading it that she cried herself to sleep. Did she write it and then get lost in a dreamland and fell asleep. Is it from a lover whom she cherishes so much that she keeps it close to her until she fell asleep.

i think it has been left for her to find after she wakes. she dreams of that part of her soul written in letters....when she opens her eyes there are new words. she doesn't know how they were left, but she knows he has been there.....
