It's been a long time since I've witnessed so many downed trees. No major flooding around us, but much heavy rain and damaging winds. I miss the foul weather now that it's gone, but like I said am enjoying the sunshine.

In Galveston Texas in 1925 a hurricane of a similar intensity to Katrina hit and due to the fact that foirecasting then wasn't as good as it is today approximately 5000 people died, compared to what Katrina has done in a similar type of area, that was a real disaster.

Progress does have its uses after all.
