Good day Soli, how have things held up after Katrina's visit?
It's been a long time since I've witnessed so many downed trees. :D No major flooding around us, but much heavy rain and damaging winds. I miss the foul weather now that it's gone, but like I said am enjoying the sunshine.

Hello from Yorkshire :D

Hello IS, welcome to the Directory except that this is not the directory as such, this is the alternate thread set up so we can chat to each other whilst Page 3000 on the Directory is being used to make some congratulatory comments on as threads rarely reach as many as 3000 pages and we wanted it to be special.

Please feel free to have your say in there, the link is on a lot of peoples sigs and we will all be going back there soon I am sure.

The Directory is the oldest and most popular UK thread on Lit and we, the regulars are proud of that fact. There are a bunch of really nice people posting here and I'm, sure you'll fit in just fine if you decide to become one of the regulars, we hope you do.

I t is sad Emes yes but, to get things in perspective,

In Galveston Texas in 1925 a hurricane of a similar intensity to Katrina hit and due to the fact that foirecasting then wasn't as good as it is today approximately 5000 people died, compared to what Katrina has done in a similar type of area, that was a real disaster.

Progress does have its uses after all.

Good afternoon to you Emes and to all who are in.

His concerto in C minor by J.S.Bach can't hold a candle to Patricks!! :D ;)

*makes note to look for it later on the net....NOT!*

By my reckoning (which is suspect at the best of times) we need just one more visitor to complete page 3000.

Despite a couple of hiccoughs I think it has been a worthwhile excercise, thanks to all who have taken part and to all who have been inconvenienced by being forced to use this thread!

Hope we dont have to wait too long! As much as its been fun here, its been a bit like being on holiday....it gets to a point that you want to get back to 'normal'
.
