The UK is laughing, tonight

How bad is the fallout from Emersongate?

Fox News, a bastion of distortion and outright deception, had to issue an extremely rare complete retraction of Emerson's lies.

Emerson has been subsequently "banned for life" from Fox News.

Anyway, it can't be true because Muslims are against dancing, and, as everybody knows, way down South, in Birmingham, I mean South, in Alabam', there's an old place where people go to dance the . . . wait . . .

I did not see the show in question, but it is the usual policy of networks to issue a disclaimer to the effect that the opinions expressed by guests - and these were opinions - are their own and not those of etc. etc. etc.

I wonder if those Sunday morning talk shows issued a retraction for all of Susan Rice's lies.

" I got into a tweet fight with the French ambassador who denied that there are any such things as no-go zones, except on the French official website it says there are and it actually has a map of them…."

[A]nd in Britain, it's not just no-go zones, there are actual cities like Birmingham that are totally Muslim where non-Muslims just simply don't go in. And parts of London, there are actually Muslim religious police that actually beat and actually wound seriously anyone who doesn't dress according to Muslim, religious Muslim attire.
- Steven Emerson

Sounds like he's purporting to report actual facts, not opinions.

What lies?

You know as well as I do, the lies about Benghazi. Military experts in the field had described to Obama the military precision of the attack, and the attackers were armed with things like mortars and machine guns and RPG's. It was obvious to everybody this was a well-planned attack, not just been part of a demonstration. Even so, Rice claimed they were or that the administration believed they were.

It was NOT an honest mistake on her part.

What you said is true, and that normally is the case. In Fox News' case here, though, the lies were so deliberate and so outlandish, that Fox News credibility (what little they had) was taking a serious beating, to the point where they had to put additional distance between themselves and the liar emerson.

I wonder if those Sunday morning talk shows issued a retraction for all of Susan Rice's lies.

No need to. Susan Rice told the truth as she knew it when it happened. As additional details came out, the Obama administration shared them. You're Monday Morning Quarterbacking.

Susan Rice did not lie, but she wasn't told all the facts either.

You, on the other had, lie even when you do know the facts.

Even though Emerson was speaking as if he were presenting facts, it was still just opinion.

I will concede that Susan Rice might have been ignorant of any of the details of the attack, and may have just been parroting what she was told to say, but that does not make them not lies. All the concerned government officials, from debriefings they had received and the videotape of the attack and everything else that was known by them, had to know the true nature of the attack. Lies were passed on by Susan Rice, even though she may not have known they were lies.

Of course I lie. I'm a writer of fiction. What's your excuse?

If there was an actual lie, it should be an easy matter to quote it.

I've never seen anyone quote a statement by Susan Rice that was a lie. Will you be the first? Doubt it.

Even though it's been beyond a moot point with all the continuous waste-of-taxpayer-money witch hunts going belly up, Boxey's gonna go hard in the paint for them revised narratives, straight to the grave.

That's holding on to convictions for ya! :D

Susan Rice would be the U.S. Secretary of State today if it weren't for all of the lies she went out and told about Benghazi. Granted, she was only repeating the lies that the White House TOLD her to tell, but it still cost her that job!

And now John Kerry's out there making a mockery of it. That guy is showing all of us why he lost the presidency in 2004. He was clearly unfit for the job.

Maybe you can come up with a direct quote, since Boxlicker failed.

Did you miss it, phrodeau?

On the Sunday morning following the Benghazi attacks, then-U.N. ambassador Susan Rice went on FIVE different Sunday morning talk shows to blame the Benghazi violence that murdered our ambassador to Libya on an obscure you-tube video, despite the fact that it was a planned Al Qaeda assault that had nothing whatsoever to do with that video!

The problem is, President Obama had just been bragging a week earlier about Al Qaeda being "on the run" at the Democratic Party's national convention, and so to admit that they were still a threat would have made this president appear foolish on the eve of a national election --- and so they told her to lie instead!

President Obama had earlier yanked all U.S. troops out of Iraq so that he could then brag about the Iraq War being over, thus paving the way for ISIS to occupy huge parts of that country.

Nothing has worked out for this scandal-plagued president since his re-election! He's Richard Nixon without any of Nixon's foreign policy successes.

Just one, in text, with quote marks around it, provably false. Is it impossible or not?
