The Wanderer's Quest

Feng

"Well I don't know who or what you are but i do know what i feel" I say as I stand up."I do not belive in gods but you intrigue me. If you are so powerful why don't you just go do the deed in the north. Or maybe is it the fact the your afraid or do you just want to see people like us get hurt for your amusment. Whatever the case if the world is in trouble then by all meens I will help out as much as I can" I take my sword and put it back it's holder and then put my cloak back on.

Lyskall

Lyskall laughed at Feng's words, banging his beetle in his humour. The great steed made a strange noise and jolted, instantly silencing Lyskall as he grabbed on for safety.
"Bloody touchy beasts..." he whispered under his breath, before turning to the half-orc. "I am definately a God. Believe it or not. But as for why I won't do it myself: Section 4:35 of the Book of Divine Interventions, volume 1, chapter 3. And I can't tell you what that is because of Section 3:13 of the Book of Mortals, Volume 53, Chapter 37. Oh, I can imagine how confused you are. Suffice to say, I'm not allowed to do it."

"Will you stop with the book already!?!" Zylo was silent until then "Are all your Gods like this Lyskall?

Lyskall

Lyskall chuckled, looking across at Zylo.
"So, the quiet one speaks, hmmm? First of all, those Books hold together your entire planet, so just be quiet about them, ok? And, no, not all the Gods are like me, most of them are taller..." the rest of that sentence turned into an inaudible mumble.

John

"Stop with the talking already. If we are going to save the world, then I advise to ignore this pain in the ass on the beetle and keep moving."

A littel hasty arn't you Feng?" Zylo looked over to Yanmi, who was silent for the trime being "You alright Boy?"

"Something about this guy doesn't feel right your fox knows it too. Besides I really have never trusted in gods that's why I am in such a rush to leave"

Lyskall

Lyskall laughed again, before suddenly sitting bolt upright, his ears twitching and his eyes staring blankly forwards. After a moment of this, he shook his head, as if returning to the real world.
"Well, now I've done it. The other gods are pissed off. Now they're gonna beat me up, and tease me. Oh, you stupid mortals with your questions, always getting me in trouble..."
And then, in the blink of an eye, Lyskall and his steed were gone.

"st-stupid!?! Oh now you done it! Hey come back here ya chicken!" Zylo was extreamly pissed of by the remarks Lyskall made "I hope they beat you to a pulp you jerk!" He looked over to Feng "Now I know why you don't like gods!"

Linden

He stared at the two new companions with a look of horror. He may not be the brightest in the world, but even he didn't argue with Gods. So, the Gods weren't going to save the world themselves, it made sense to him. What would the world be if the Gods did everything for them?

And here they are, getting all upset and mocking the Gods. What little the Gods did for people was a lot, and here they go badmouthing them?

"You know, no one ever asked you to help the world. Or to act like asses while doing so. If you have such a problem with the messenger, then why not ignore the message and go about your lives, as fulfilling as I'm sure they are, wandering around in places of death."

Zeslakk

Zeslakk shot angry glances at the two new companions.
"I agree with Linden. Either forget your quarrels with the Gods and come with us, or turn away now. Your faith may be all that will get you through this quest, if you choose to follow it."
A shadow of malevolence settled in his minds as he remembered Lyskall calling Phoenix a false god.
"The Gods act very different to us humans, and, whilst they may not act entirely to your liking, they know much more than you shall ever know, and they know how their actions will impact the land."
His lecture done, Zeslakk stretched his neck. "In any case, we must hurry North."

Feng

"I will come with you based on the sole fact the the wold is in danger. It has been a long time since I have every belived in any higher powers."
I tke my cloak and tie it up." If we are going to go north we should leave now"

Linden

He rolled his eyes as one of the tagalongs said they didn't beleive in Gods, after having just seen by one. But, if they wanted to come along, it was their business. After all, they had to live on this world as well.

He let his mind wander, the horse following the others as he lost himself in the past. He stared off into space as his mind went in the one path it always did when he wasn't thinking about the present. The future was far too complex for him to think about, so he slid back into the welcoming folds of the past.

Altalus

Altalus stood on the side amused by the spectacle of Lyskall on a giant beetle. He was so tired. So tired of the half-answers that Lyskall was giving. So tired of being forced into being a plaything for the Gods. His horse looked more tired than he was, but he forced it into a canter, in the opposite direction of where the group was heading. He did not look back, as he knew that the arguments with the new members of the group, would cover his departure.

From now onwards, Altalus vowed to remain true to only himself. Neither Gods nor men would convince him otherwise. And if the world was destroyed because he did not help, then so be it. He longed for the long sleep that death entailed. Then he would not be tired anymore.

The trek back through the dead zone was uneventful. Altalus had no idea where he was heading. And it did not matter. At his expense, the Gods had mocked his entire life. Maybe, if he traveled far enough, he would find a place where there were no Gods or men. Then that place would be paradise. Renewed by this thought, he spurred his horse onwards, stopping only to rest himself and his horse.

Is there such a place? Altalus thought so, and so there must be…

The End.

Zylo sighed and lowered his head, he had way too many rival battles with way too many people, he didn't want another grudge, even if.... "Alright, the next time we see the pip sqeek, I'll apologize to him. The only God I want to have a grudge with is Azure!" Zylo started to waolk behind Yami who was still a littel pissed off about something

Zeslakk

He had been so involved with his thoughts, that, when Zeslakk looked around, he was surprised to see that Altalus was not among them. He glanced over his shoulder to see the man heading the other way. Zeslakk frowned.
He had not even said goodbye, Zeslakk thought. But if that is what he wanted, then Zeslakk was in no position to deny him that.
The monk was just worried that without Altalus, would they still be able to succeed in their mission? Or had they lost a vital piece of the puzzle?
