The Wandering Mistress (closed - dangerousdarkeyes)
Northern California... Set sometime in the distant future....
It was a dark hallway. Lit only by the faint moonlight weaving through the open portions of windows, scattered scarcely across the hallway. James wasn't scared. He always felt fear was a useless emotion. But he was anxious. There was a certain air this evening in Roulen Chateau. It was at that moment James heard a knock on the door.
James wasn't used to visitors-- residing in the mountains in California, he enjoyed his rural environment. But, he couldn't say that he wasn't pleasantly surprised at the slender woman now standing before him-- she was gorgeous, he thought. Flowing black hair, striking green eyes. The contours of her body brought him familiar longings. But still, he couldn't help but wonder, why was this woman at his door?
"Can I come in?" she said, trembling a little from the cold night air. "I got in a fight with my husband while we were driving down the road. I've been wandering ever since."
"Yes, of course," said James. Although he wanted to be welcoming, and she was attractive, in the back of his mind he was always a little wary at letting in strangers...
