THE WATERCOOLER

I would never do that to you. Ever. In fact, I'm trying to gouge my eyes out as we speak. :(
Yeah, in hindsight, after reading the summary of the novels, I might understand why. Orginally I saw the :( as a smilie orginally. XD

So have you read any good books lately?

Full of cold

Was sent home from work early on Tuesday with aching joints etc.

Having had the flu twice in 34 years I felt I was going to get it for a third time

Fortunately turned out to be a devilish cold but still at home, physically recovered it seems but maybe still full of lethargy, no zest.

Good news is that I am using the time to explore writer's resources :)

I like it

Lady Cibelle,

I'm a newbie and am thrilled that there is a space where people can get to now each other.

LadyCibelle, I'm terribly sorry to hear about your daughter. I have kids too and it's vital that you always inform yourself independently of the doctors. They're only human and may not even think of things if it wasn't given much weight in their training.

How I am: I've just fed my kids and am looking out the window, wishing the sun would shine.

That editor told me to send my story through PM!!!!!!!!! I didn't understand why

I am just so incredibly happy right now I can hardly stand it! My very first writer recieved a H rating on his story! And the reviews...oh lordy the gloryous glowing reviews!!
Sigh...it's awesome!

Sick this morning with either allergies or sinus mess. Incredibly sucky news seeing as it's going to be 80 finally this weekend. All I wanna do is crawl back into bed, but nnnoooooo. I gotta get by butt up and go to school. Since when was being an adult supposed to suck???

Does anyone heard of a book or series that is like this?

If so do you remember the name?

If you don't get an answer, I'd suggest you ask here.

interesting discussion.

I'll recount a bit of a marketing class I once took:

Y'all know how on canned goods there's usually a picture, tomatoes, beans, etc... that kind of reflects the contents of a can or bottle of stuff? that's all for illiterate or semi-literate people. Gerber had a problem selling lil jars of baby food in Africa. it seems the people there didn't want to buy jars of baby

That's actually a fairly old urban legend.

Just a very quick, stupid question I hope one of you could answer. This is the sentence me and my friend are debating:

"“You gotta tell me when this show is on again, it’s fun.”

He's saying it should 'its' instead of 'it's' and the Word grammar check agrees with him. While I think it should be 'it's' because it can easily be "it is fun" or "it was fun." Sorry for the dumb question.

The "it's" is correct here. The punctuation isn't, which may be what is making the grammar check report incorrectly. There should be either a semicolon or a period after "again," not a comma.

Also, it's not "me and my friend" debating. It's "my friend and I." Others go first in this construction, and you wouldn't say "me am debating," would you? You'd say "I am debating." Both issues here are common problems with colloquial "American speak."

Thank you very much. :)

Kicking the fire back to life!

Love this idea! I'm having a pretty good day, but then I almost always do. You see I have bipolar disorder and was diagnosed 6 years ago but have lived with it since I was a young child. I thank god every day for the meds that keep me stable so I can work and care for my family. The side effects are a bit of a bummer but when your spouse comes up to you and says "I like you better now" you know there's a big personality change.

So yeah, I'm having a great day, and I'm glad the people I'm editing for are getting such a good response on their stories.

I have a sis who's biploar.

Shakes.

I'm AS.

Just saying.

My little girl has a thyroid disorder that she was born with, shes been seen and treated by the same specialist for 2 years. I can't stand him and he acts like I'm not even in the room and won't answer my questions. But when my brother goes with me for moral support he'll talk to him about any questions or concerns he has  . I wish there were another specialist in our area but theres not. So right now I am angry and frustrated and at a loss as to what I can do to make things better for her.

And here you thought I was gone for good uh :emoticon:

After many months of up and down health-wise, a few visit at the hospital, a couple of overnight stay, and now I've just been sent home after a month-long hospital stay.

I've had a few times where I thought that my "regulars/friends" writer would give up on me because I was unreliable. I didn't lose my cushy:cool:, well paid:eek: job at co-moderating with Lynn, and I didn't lose my "regulars/friends" writer, I didn't even lose a single white hair.

But seriously? I'm just happy to be back for now. There's no guarantee that I'll never go back to hospital, but today is a great day.

I got to sleep in my own bed, seeing my kids being MY kids, see the husband still be the big pile of mush that he is. Sigh and know that I'm safe and where I belong.

Do editors actually say" I got something to say?"

What is wrong with starting a thread about anything? If you don't like it, don't want it, don't reply. Duh! If no one wants it, it will disappear.

well, I hope that finally someone might help me editing my story. I requested help weeks ago, and nobody applied for the job; no answer to the post nor any PMs in the inbox.

Football highjacked

Yes, you are learning that soccer is about as exciting as watching the grass grow, while the NFL is where its at.

The Pro-bowl game is being played on Sunday, that's why I'll be in a rush to get back in town. The most exciting athelete in the world will be playing. :D

Football has been high-jacked with one rule change after another. It's no longer just a fun game but a gigantic business that really does not care about the well being of its players.

Post your mood in here is it ?

220px-Gurney-1984.jpg

I'm reminded of what Gurney Halleck said to Paul Atreides in DUNE, "Mood's a thing for cattle and loveplay."

And - perhaps it is. Can't say I've seen too many moody cattle recently, but yes - love, love is definitely the fuel of moods - and all the emotions tied with them.

Interest, curiosity, attraction, lust, arousal, desire, admiration, gratitude, elation.

And yet one person can stand between two, the iron nail if you will, and with sparks flying, truly divide their perfection asunder.

Anger, rage, frustration, shame, hatred, belligerence, vengeance.

Who, me ? I always bring popcorn to such affairs.
