It's nice to see that you're still around, hon. Just had my first day of classes, but that's always just intro stuff. Was raped by the textbook annex. Books shouldn't cost over $500. Had marching band rehersal in the rain, so that was fun. How's your summer been?

A z-room is exactly that. I dorm in the shape of a z. Two sections of room connected with a little passthrough thingy. It's better than my little corner room last year. I actually have a futon now! Yay!

I have had a week of classes and already I am tired of stuff. I need a nice vacation. Mind you I have been working my ass off a month before classes actually started in order to get things ready for freshman so I am still blown away from that. Glad your classes are going well though.

Well I'm SUPER happy for you that you're living in a place you like! Congrats and all.

I know what you mean about the textbooks. Those bastards. The book for my one-semester-long art history class alone last year cost $130 ... and if that's not enough to send my broke ass straight into cardiac arrest, I was a WEEK late picking the book up ... and by then they "didn't have any record of my book being purchased." Well, yeah, that's because I got the credit card slip. Lame. It was honestly one of the most frustrating days EVER trying to get it all straightened out. Which it never did. It's awful to say this, and I'll be over it in twenty-two seconds anyway, but it made me see how some people might think a shooting rampage would help the situation.

My summer ... *sigh* ... talk about drama, drama, drama. Almost got mugged. I'd had a really shitty day, though, so the guy definitely did not pick a time in which I felt I could acquiesce to his demands gracefully. So when he grabs me and says, "Give me your fucking purse," I replied with a rather emphatic HELL NO. I get shoved up against the car, smacked around a little bit, and verbally abused, and finally I just got so pissed that I raked the side of his neck with my little claws. He kinda shrieked and started spurting blood, and after I started screaming, he took off. Who knew my nail obsession would ever pay off? What a day, huh?

My roommate from college also managed to total my car two weekends ago. Very traumatic for me - who likes to tally up the number of cars they've totaled and be forced to use two hands? Long story, but I'll skip to the happy ending ... check this puppy out - my new car. *sigh* God, I'm so in love with it. So other than all of that ... I just worked, slept, and drank, lol.

My summer was...well...I'm not sure if I even had a summer. I worked from 8 in the morning till 4:30 in the afternoon 5 days a week. Only got to see my high school friends a few times because I was too tired after work and too lazy on the weekends. I did get to see my friend who's in California now. We went to dinner and bowling (yeah, we're cool). I do wish I could have had just one week to goof off and sleep in. I went to band camp 3 days after my last day of work. Oh well.

That sucks about getting mugged! I do have to admit that I laughed out loud at the fact that you were having a bad day to begin with and the 'hell no' part. I wouldn't expect anything less.

Actually, the mugging didn't suck that badly. I'm a little bitty thing, and he was a BIG guy, but instead of being afraid - like I SHOULD have been - I was just really pissed that I was being inconvenienced like that! LoL They still haven't actually caught him as far as I know, but I'll tell you what ... I left some fearsome gashes in the side of his neck - definitely scar-worthy. I hope he remembers me every time he sees the scars, for the rest of his life. And in my opinion, THAT is punishment enough. How great is it that when he sees them he'll have to remember being a huge burly mugger and getting his ass kicked (somewhat) by someone that wouldn't even constitute HALF of him. LoL Loser.

Yeah, now that you mention it, actually, it IS kinda my style to get pissed and refuse to hand over my purse just because I had a shitty day. Well, hell, that certainly made me smile. How precocious am I? LoL

I think I may be rambling at this point.

But YOU, madam ... I have questions for you. What classes are you taking? Did you get the schedule you had in mind? And I know you JUST started classes, but what do you think so far?

I have to admit that I HATED school - it was probably mainly because of that whole INCIDENT about withdrawing, though. However, I must ALSO confess that I really wish I was going back this fall. Not necessarily to the same school ... just in general, taking classes and all.

I'm so glad you're BACK! Someone's around here besides me lol!

Well, my schedule went all over the place for a while, but it's calmed down a bit now. I'm taking Organic Chem honors and Physics on Mon-Wed-Fri, and Abnormal Psych and Calc on Tue-Thurs. I have marching band every day. I'm going to try to take a psych honors seminar on Mondays. Right now I have time between classes and band rehersal, but starting next week I'm going to be so busy since I'm going to try to work at the cluster office in my dorm and I also have to put in 6 hours a week at the band office. I was going to take a Spanish grammar class too, but I decided that 21 credits was a bit much. 18 is much better.

I saw this thread doing really well in June and even July...what happened? I was all sad then that I wasn't able to post much. I think they left because I was coming back.

Ooh - I think I know what it is, or at least I have a theory. When you and I both left, things kinda crashed and burned around here. If you look back ... I'd have to say that we've certainly posted the most on this thread.
