Shopping! Which I normally hate, since nothing ever fits me. But I found like three outfits today. And lingerie! New underwear makes me happy. Also sushi. Also smore cupcakes.

I'm actually impressed with how much the ice bucket challenge has helped raise money and awareness for the ALS. So far (or last I heard) it's about 22 million.

Oh definitely, it is impressive, and for a charity that means a lot to me . . . Just not so psyched about doing it now of all times when it feels more like November! (Seriously having to wear jeans and a hoodie and a dressing gown with the heating on in the house in August is just disgraceful)

I'm a pacifist. I'm an animal lover. Usually, I'm not bothered by spiders. But while sitting at work tonight, listening to the audiobook of Cujo, I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. I am alone in the building from 5.30pm so imagine my surprise when I think I see something well after 9pm.
It's brown and it's skittering across the floor at that kind of hideous speed only tiny things can manage that seems so fast when in fact it isn't really that fast at all.
It looked like that spider out of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire when Moody performs the Unforgiveable Curses. The body was huge, brown and absolutely visible, even from across the room. And when I leapt out of my chair at the sight of the thing, it froze, and I imagined it was looking at me. Seeing eight of me and probably not being worried by me at all, even though I bet you any money it could smell my fear.
If spiders can smell.
Anyway. It lurked off into the back room and scuttled under the hoover, then darted into the corner. I pulled the Hoover out, pulled out the chair, and there the bitch sat, looking at me without a care in the world while I cringed at it, my torch in hand (because obviously the light in that room just happened to not be working in my hour of need). It had big fat legs and just sat there, moving it's front two. I mean, it was so fucking big I could see it's pincers moving.
I hit it with a rolled up magazine and it did nothing. I bet the fucker just smiled at me.
I bet it stopped smiling when the sledgehammer came down on it's head.
Asshole.
Things that made me smile today: The feeling of relief every time I checked that room every ten minutes for the rest of my shift to verify the fact the bitch was still curled up and dead under the sledgehammer.
