I've always been interested in reading erotica, for the arousal factor. I came here when I had written some stories that I wanted to publish. See below for why I stayed.

I've always liked to discuss and analyze ideas, and I can confidently say that I've never been in a group that is so satisfactory for that purpose, and I've been in some pretty intellectually impressive environments. Why is AH so full of people willing to discuss almost anything, and really intelligently? I don't remember ever starting a thread that didn't get at least a few interesting replies.

Does it have something to do with interest in erotica? Or is it just dumb luck?

Well, the whole community doesn't necessarily agree. I've posted one or two threads inquiring into the use of "naughty" as applied to sex. But, fundamentally, it is very freeing to be able to talk about anything related to sex, it does push the "honesty" button.

Yes, but also unlike-minded people. Part of the fun is seeing into other minds and personalities, those that you wouldn't ordinarily know anything about.

Unlike the majority of the people who post in the AH, I'm a poet and so grateful to be accepted by everyone with all my (word) quirks. I look forward to exchanging more ideas and insights in 2026.
