Things that made you smile today.

Finally being able to buy my new concealed carry gun! I've looked for one of these for a long, LONG time and finally found it. Ironically, it was within an hour after receiving the stock watch notice from Gallery of Guns, and then going immediately to their website to order it, only to find that in 7 minutes from the time I got their alert, their entire stock was gone! So in disgust, I went on my lunch break and stopped by a local store to ask about one. Surprise! They had one, but hadn't received the invoice from the manufacturer yet. So I snagged it, demanding they hold it for me until they got their paperwork fixed. That was Friday, today I got to bring it home. :)

no.. she doesnt love her guns at all...

not even a little bit.

Some things are just so fascinating to watch. People. yes. odd, enlightening... fascinating.

They make me smile.

People...

Close ones. ones on the edge, set apart. ones within, allowed, almost proven.
Those that align themselves with false pretense and those that are amazingly honest.

Motive-less... no. But bone deep bare about what, who, how, even if they don't know why.

Time to see if I can get through the rest of this and have more reasons to smile.

Having a customer call in to work and give a very heartfelt thank you for changing her day around!

Comments on the article? I didn't read them as there's a nasty tendency for them to get mindlessly, well, nasty.

Yeah, I'll just say that goes from the talking about the meaning of "radical" and feminist to talks about rape.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by "talks about rape", but that is the entire point of the article.
(again, I've only skimmed the comments...but they are discussing rape culture, which really is the whole reason for the prank in the first place)

That's basically it. I was more talking people arguing about definitions of radical. Regardless, it was interesting to read, thanks for the link.

Good for them.
Honestly, the vast majority of the time if someone posts anything implying that, y'know, rape is bad, and feminism good...you get comments like "Yeah, well thats cause you are ugly and can't even get raped".
(though the site might have moderators keeping that out).
Speaking out on the internet, as a woman, draws abuse, threats, and from time to time, real world danger.

People think that because they're fairly anonymous, behind a keyboard and a monitor, it's okay for them to say the stupid bullshit that forms in their addled mind.

It's a problem that's shown up some in the skeptical/atheist community right now that people are trying to get rid of, but it's proving a little difficult. People don't seem to understand why it's not okay to harass women at conferences and follow them onto elevators to proposition them after they've said they don't want that.

And it's always a strange question of what to do.. stand up to them and let them know it's not okay, or not feed the trolls, and I don't really know what the right answer is. But it's ridiculous that it's nearly 2013 and this is still the shit people have to deal with.

Pretty much, yup.

I've never heard the N-word dropped anywhere else as many times as I have on XBox Live. Kids get a mic in front of their mouth and think they have to use it like a comma.
Yeah. Played COD on xbox live.
I got off after 30 minutes. I wanted to choke someone.
