Thinkings, feelings and...doings ~ 2013

I'm sorry but I couldn't resist laughing at this. Hopefully you didn't hurt yourself or the other guy too much.

 Worry not, nothing was harmed apart from my dignity. Although I could feel his glare from across the room the whole session, and I fear he is plotting his vengeance right now. This is why I don't exercise.

sighs heavily

The weather is really good today and the temperature just perfect for me to whip out my lappy and get to work. Making more progress than the last few couple of days.

Thinking- I haven't been here in over a year. Wowza!
Feeling- I miss some people that I used to hang out with here.
Doing- Leaving a hello with xoxoxo's for them. They know who they are.

stalks in, looking flustered and dragging a clearly overfilled suitcase behind her

I hate packing!!!!

I mean, I love why I'm doing it.
But I still hate it.

kicks the suitcase

Stupid packing.

hugs, gratefully

I'm ecstatic! It's just the realisation of just how much we've bought during the trip - mainly for mini witches, it must be said - and trying to get it packed ready to ship!!

But we're nearly there now.

Well, glad you're nearly done! Have you managed much writing or have you been too busy having loads and loads and loads of fun (I'm sure)?

Also thinking: Why does Etsy have to be so expensive? :( I am saddened by the shipping costs.

While there has actually been some fun, in amongst the homicidal urges ;) I've not managed to write a word since landing in the UK

heavy sigh

Need to do some serious sock pulling up next week if I've any chance of reaching my NaNo target in time. Not to mention wanting to get something done for the challenge...and posts...

more sighing

You must live somewhere far away. I haven't had any problem with the costs unless it is something particularly heavy. They are just standard US shipping costs.

You must live somewhere far away.

Sorry to butt in - I'm sure you are lovely, but that is such an American comment! Everywhere is far away from somewhere...Did you mean, you must not live in the US? Because that's true of 95% of the world.

I take offense to that comment. I didn't ask you to correct me. Please do not do it again.

The thing about corrections is that one tends not to ask for them. If one spots a mistake one's self one is likely to correct it one's self. But I meant no harm by it, and wish you well. It's just that those of us who don't live in USA! USA! USA! sometimes get a little tired of the America/Everywhere else in the whole world dichotomy.

(Oh - it's 'take offence at', not 'to'. Unless you meant to write 'a fence', which would be charmingly surreal in a Lewis Carroll sort of way.) :)

Back on topic:

Thinking: I should be going to bed ready for a busy day.
Feeling: Excited about the thunderstorm I was promised by the charming man at the BBC Weather Centre mere hours go.
Doing: Not nearly enough.

Don't make generalized statements about people you know nothing about. You don't know me, and the way you phrased your statement was offensive to me. Especially, as I am getting the feeling you think Americans are arrogant and self-centered based on the way you talk about them. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all.

I am fairly certain that Etsy was created in the United States. I cannot prove this to be true because I cannot find a source, but I will also make a wild guess that most of the vendors on the site are in the United States based on my own experience. This means anyone outside of that region will probably have to pay a lot for goods sent to them. Now this could be switched around just as easily. It's all a matter of how much transportation is needed for your package to reach you.

It would seem that the "standard US shipping" part would negate the need for her to further specify that she's talking about the US.

The shot her grammar was wholly unnecessary, and you know it.
