That response indicates that you have given the ramifications of this even less consideration than the House did. If Tik Tok is banned it is a precedent for banning every single article that contains any Chinese made control system. The obvious candidate for the next banning will be Chinese built cars, then the banning of every car maker which includes Chinese components ie. the entire US auto industry. Will Apple iphones and other smart phones be banned because they are mostly built in China. The problem is real, but simple minded arrogant bullying by the US Congress is no solution.

At some point the US has to make a decision whether to sit down with the Chinese and work out these problems or continue the flag waving and tub thumping. Interesting to see AOC and MTG in agreement though: must tell us something!

And is our Korean washing machine spying on us when it tells us what it has done? Agricultural equipment and trucks have included satellite guidance systems largely built overseas for years. Maybe on January 6 2025 we will see Combine Harvesters advancing on Congress.

My favorite part was when that young man highlighted how the FAR right AND the FAR left are cool with Russia or China controlling America through misinformation / disinformation propagated on platforms like Tik Tok, because "America sucks anyway", yet they are completely oblivious to the fact that part of their EXTREME disillusionment with America has been influenced / fomented by Russian and Chinese bad actors whose entire purpose is to generate that kind of EXTREME disillusionment.
