TIME IS A BLESSING

Many times we fail to see
the blessings in our lives...
we're so caught up in "living"
we forget to realize,

that all our days are numbered
and each moment is a loan...
we can't relive it's contents
and the outcome is unknown.

Only God can grant us
one minute or the next...
it's ours to live it wisely
and ours to do our best.

Remember to be thankful
for the gift of time today...
and when this day is over,
no regrets will come our way.

*good Saturday morning all*

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you
And share with its beauty
On the days you're feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own
A place to find serenity
A place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles
I would toss them into the sea
But all these things I'm finding
Are impossible for me.

http://www.smiles2send.com/imgs/page_imgs/afa/bird_rainbow_md_wht.gif

I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair
But let me be what I know best
A friend who's always there.

:)

Hi everyone! hope you are all having a good week. Happy Hump Day! I got this in email and thought that ya'll might enjoy it.

Put the Glass Down
A lecturer was giving a lecture to his student on stress management. He raised a glass of water and asked the audience, "How heavy do you think this glass of water is?"
The students' answers ranged from 20g to 500gm.
"It does not matter on the absolute weight. It depends on how long you hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, it is OK.
If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you will have to call an ambulance.
It is the exact same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."
"If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, we will not be able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly heavier."
"What you have to do is to put the glass down, rest for a while before holding it up again."
We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can be refreshed and are able to carry on.
So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it back home. You can pick it up tomorrow.
Whatever burdens you are having now on your shoulders, let it down for a moment if you can.
Pick it up again later when you have rested... Rest and relax. Life is short, enjoy it!!

simple and to the point

I like your style
I like your class
But most of all i like your ass

Here's a small story that happened this morning...went salmon fishing on the river with my nephew and we each caught one. There is an older lady who lives up the road a bit from me--she lost her husband about 18 months ago and struggles to make ends meet. Well, to make a long story short--I came home, cleaned the fish and sliced some of it into steaks/fillets, I put about 8 pounds of steaks into freezer bags (plus some smoked salmon that I'd done last week) and walked up to her door. She answered the door and when I presented her with the fish--she started crying, which made me tear up, too. She wanted to pay me, but I wouldn't hear of it--I was simply sharing my bounty with someone who might not be able to afford it as a luxury. My final words to her as I walked away, were that her smile and enjoyment would be more than enough payment for me. I have a very satisfied glow inside...just knowing that sharing without expecting anything in return is one of the ultimate 'fuzzy feelings.'

Awww how sweet, see I KNEW that you had a nice side! ;) That was very kind of you. You are always thinking of others. (((((((AA)))))))) love you!

AA that's so cool and any returns I hope will be tripled for you

Now a question... I just obtained some salmon steaks and have no idea as how to prepare them. Everyone says grill grill grill ..... but with it raining and still just to nasty outside here to break the grill out, any suggestions or a favorite recipe?

Woody--this is one of my favorites. It's easy, Has very few ingredients, is done in the oven, and the fish comes out moist and flaky/tasty every time. Although the recipe is for a fillet, it works equally as well with steaks.

1 whole salmon fillet
1 lemon
1/4 cup mayonnaise
Salt & pepper to taste
1 onion, sliced
Splash of white wine (Optional)

Spray 13 x 9 baking dish with Pam or similar non-stick oil. Put fillet in pan, skin side down. Salt and pepper lightly. Spread mayonnaise over fillet, salt and pepper. Place onion slices on top and squeeze fresh lemon over top. (Optional--Pour some white wine in the bottom of the pan.) Cover with a tent of aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees F for approximately 20 minutes or until salmon flakes.

Subject: Bless Your Heart

Subject: Bless Yer Hearts-This is Sooooooooooo True!!!

Someone once noted that a Southerner can get away with the most
awful kind of insult just as long as it's prefaced with the words, "Bless her heart" or "Bless his heart." As in, "Bless his heart, if they put his brain on the head of a pin, it'd roll around like a BB on a six lane highway."
Or, "Bless her heart, she's so bucktoothed, she could eat an
apple through a picket fence." There are also the sneakier ones: "You know, it's amazing that even though she had that baby 7 months after they were married, bless her heart, it weighed 10 pounds."
As long as the heart is sufficiently blessed, the insult can't
be all that bad. I was thinking about this the other day when a friend was telling about her new Transplanted Northern friend who was upset
because her toddler is just beginning to talk and he has a Southern accent. My friend, who is very kind and, bless her heart, cannot do a thing about those thighs of hers, was justifiably miffed about this. After all, this woman had CHOSEN to move to the South a couple of years ago. Can you believe it? “said her friend.”A child of mine is going to be "taaaallllkkin liiiike thiiiissss.."

Now, don't get me wrong. Some of my dearest friends are from
The North, bless their hearts. I welcome their perspective, their
Friendships and their recipes for authentic Northern Italian food. I've even gotten past their endless complaints that you can't find good bread down here. And the heathens, bless their hearts, don't like cornbread!
We've already lost too much. I was raised to say "swanee," not
swear, but you hardly ever hear anyone say that anymore, I swanee you
don't.

And I've caught myself thinking twice before saying something
Is "right much," "right close," or "right good" because non-natives think this is right funny indeed. I have a friend from Bawston who thinks it's hilarious when I say I've got to "carry" my daughter to the doctor or "cut off "the light.. She also gets a giggle every time I am "fixin'" to do something. And, bless their hearts, they don't even know where "over yonder" is or what "I reckon" means!

My personal favorite was my aunt, saying, "Bless her heart, she
can't help being ugly, but she could've stayed home."

Southern girls know bad manners when they see them:

1. Drinking straight out of a can.
2. Not sending thank you notes.
3. Velvet after February.
4. White shoes before Easter or after Labor Day.

Southern girls always say:
1. "Yes, ma'am."
2. "Yes, sir."

Southern girls have a distinct way with fond expressions:

1. "Y'all come back! now ya heaah,"
2. "Well, bless your heart."
3. "Drop by when you can."
4. "How's your mother?"
5. "Love your hair."

Southern girls know their three R's!:
1. Rich
2. Richer
3. Richest

Southern girls know everybody's first name:

1. Honey
2. Darlin'
3. Sugah

Southern girls know the movies that speak to their hearts:
1. "Gone With the Wind"
2. "Fried Green Tomatoes"
3. "Driving Miss Daisy"
4. "Steel Magnolias"

Southern girls know their cities dripping with Southern charm:
1. Hotlanta or Adlanna = (Atlanta as outsiders say)
2. Richmon
3. Challston
4. S'vannah
5. Birminham
6. Nawlins'
7. OH! And that city in Alabama? It's pronounced MUNTGUMRY!

Southern girls know the three deadly sins:

1. Bad hair
2. Bad manners
3. Bad blind dates
G.R.I.T.S. = Girls Raised in The South!

Now you run along, Sugah, and send this to someone else Raised
In The South, i.e., Southern Belles, or ANY females aspiring to be
GRITS. Even the northern ones, "Bless Their Hearts".

That reminds me-I have a rubber stamp that says "Just because
Your children were born in the South does not make them Southerners.
After all, if a cat had kittens in the oven, that wouldn't make them biscuits."
Bless Yer Hearts
