Today I Love...

Yes.

I suppose I should specify that I only knew the first part.
Pity. And I had the scene so well pictured in my head and everything.

Finally being asked to have a story used for an anthology.

Amsterdam.

Flying.

My cat, although she just decided to eat my sock.

Strawberries, cycling through the British countryside on a warm sunny evening, sitting in a field full of cows and smoking a joint, singing the words to Beautiful South songs as I cycle back, watching lesbian romance movies in bed. Life is sweet. :rose:

"watching lesbian romance movies"

Any particular favorites? I finally got around to watching "Tipping the Velvet" (read the book) -- very nice.

Tipping the Velvet, If These Walls Could Talk 2, Better than Chocolate, Aimee & Jaguar, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe, Antonia's Line.

Geez! I'm building up quite a telltale collection!

* Mental note to turn some of the spines to face the wall * ;)

If you haven't seen them, "Go Fish" and "Gaudi Afternoon" are wonderful.

A film that I saw at a festival (not available, I think as yet) was "Entwined"

I'll give you the the blurb on it:

Entwined is a romantic and clandestine love story set in scenic Miami. Among the cast of characters is a group of sultry, young, urban professional Miami lesbians. The film's focal point lands on the blooming attraction between Cuban/American grad student Elena (Veronica Sanchez) and her film professor, the graceful and cultivated blonde Julia (Kim Ostrenko). As is the case with most furtive love affairs, the slow disintegration of their respective long-term relationships soon follow. Complicating matters are the existing domestic duties, pets, child-rearing and past intimacies for both couples. Elena has been coping with her jealous, suspicious and volatile Latina cop steady while Julia has been living with a woman she no longer loves. Eventually the two decide that they must tell the partners about their transgressions'. What ensues are the truthful realities of lesbian life, with all the conflict that occurs when new passions compete with established intimacies. The first rate soundtrack features Ani DiFranco, k.d. lang, Sophie B. Hawkins, Willy Chirino, Cachao, Lissette, Albita and Lionfish.

If you ever have to chance to catch it, do!

Today I love my husband. Not that that's unusual. But, he did the sweetest thing that made me cry. He leaves for work before I wake every day. This morning, when I woke, there was a note on my bedroom door that said, "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL." I went to the bathroom, smiling to myself, and there was another note on the bathroom mirror that said, "YOU ARE WONDERFUL." I was getting very teary-eyed and I walked into the study to sit down and see what was going on on Lit today, and there was a note on the computer screen that said, "YOU ARE INTELLIGENT."

I thought I had found them all. But, a few hours later, I went to the kitchen to get some milk and when I opened the fridge, I found another note that said, "I LOVE YOU."

*sigh* He's the best.

Thanks for the movies, Sophia :rose:

Applebiter, your husband sounds wonderful.

Today my loves are:
whizzing on a bike through forests
sitting high up on the coast, having a picnic
a certain woman in Cardiff, who's lighting me up from the inside

How is it that I knew that and other people didn't?
Thats what I was thinking. :D

today I registered my daughter for preschool and I love that.
I also got big cookie mushy kisses from my son
and I had a diet dr. pepper. Life is good I love it all.

Today I love my wife.
I love the fact that I don't care about the absence of additional feedback over the weekend.
I love being alive.
I love that I'm going to work and the only downside to that today is that I have to leave my girl sleeping and being in pain and pregnant at the same time instead of staying here with her like I want to.

Scratch that one. I don't love that. I hate the hell out of leaving her for a few hours....
