Today's Democrat meme - "Doctors are selfish quacks"

The AMA works like a union to influence the number of new doctors coming in at the bottom. Medical Licensure in the United States is generally a function of the states whose boards are dominated by members of the AMA who list "approved' schools, "approved" hospitals.

Goddamn fucking standards!

Lead by example, then. Or do what Ish said. Why should I, a taxpayer, be responsible for correcting your faults?

Primarily because you're already responsible for it. Even if you'd argue for abolishing all government subsidization of medical care, the taxpayer is already on the hook and the political reality is that it always will be.

In other words, if physicians are going to accept government dollars, why shouldn't they be accountable to government and the taxpayer?

...And only Government can fix them.

Doctors Taking Tonsils Out For Money Instead Of Diagnosing It As Allergies

What if you catch a disease from an illegal immigrant working at McDonalds?

What if there's a pandemic?

The desperation is getting comical. Please keep it up.

Who said that?

the waiting rooms are packed with Jose', Manuel, Maria, and dozens more who " don' speaka dee language..." leaving staff scurrying about looking for translators and finding medical forms in Spanish...

MmmMmm.. that's some tasting fucking racism right there..

The last time I was in a hospital (a few weeks ago) the ER waiting room was jammed to the gills with white people.. And Hispanic doctors. You act as if only minorities are uninsured and using emergency rooms for primary care.

You really are a disgusting piece of shit.

For all of the "I don't want the government between me and my doctor" whining I've yet to hear anyone screaming about the insurance company being between you and your doctor now.

Your insurance company decides which treatments they will cover, which medications they will pay for (or force you to pay most of the cost for), and which diagnostic tests they feel that you should get. Then outright refuse to cover something they deem a "pre-existing condition", which by the way, can be just about anything they don't want to pay for.

Do they also set the prices the Hospital charges......

Do they also set the prices the Hospital charges......

Indirectly, because hospitals and doctors have to carry insurance too. For when a patient sues them because they didn't diagnose a condition (likely because the test was refused by the patient's own insurance).

But part of the reason hospital prices are so high is because you (we) are already paying for the health care of uninsured people indirectly through higher pricing.

Millions upon millions of illegals. Run them back over the border, not kiss their ass.

The 2007 census results found that 47 million people in the US are uninsured (likely many more now). less than half that number (if you take the high end estimates) are illegal. They are not the sole cause, nor even the largest cause, of the health care issues.

Sorry, you can't blame it all on the brown people.

So the answer is to make the existing problem a thousand times worse by doing the same thing a thousand times over?

Nope, that's insanity - doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Insanity? How is this different from anything else the government pays for? (i.e. standards are established by which we can determine if we're getting our money's worth.)

Would you have us hand doctors blank checks?

(I'll give you a hint. We kind of do already. Part of the reason healthcare costs are out of control is that in healthcare markets, doctors function essentially as both suppliers and consumers.)

Less than half, only 20 million putting a drain on the system huh.

Most professions are self-regulating the same way. Seems to work well enough.

Have any of you mental midgets read Adam Smith?

Here's a BIG part of the problem. In 1982 there were 32,000 applicants to the nations medical schools and 16,567 were matriculated. In 2008 there were 43,000 applicants to the nations medical schools and 17,759 were matriculated. For a 33% increase in applicants, there was a corresponding increase of 6% in the number of graduates.

Who controls the number of wannabe doctors admitted to medical schools?

Ishmael

Yes. He was obviously wrong. We prefer the German model where all things flow from the government and the people understand how to follow direction.

Education is another one of the altruistic collectivist rights.
Like Healthcare...
Chedder...

Wait 'till Doctors have to pay for their education on a teacher's or cop's salary. We know government pays in dick.

The meme continues...

Insurance companies are evil, they live to fuck you.

White cops are stupid racists...

Europe is our paragon. We've BEEN there.
