Toy Suggestions, Please...

I've never used dildos/vibrators before...

I figured I'd get a thread started for suggestions! Want to start out right! ;)

Toys!! A wonderful topic. I happen to love the small bullets. They're more then efficient for me... I also have one of the knockoff Rabbits (mine is a dolphin, a lovely blue dolphin). ;)

Lit has an online toy store. Amazon too. I'll post a few links.

Also there is a thread here that should be bumped - even if only for the sheer fun of it - here it is.

Being that I'm not a woman, I can't really offer any advice on what toys you should get.

But I have seen kits that can be purchased to mold and make a dildo in your house. Maybe drop a subtle hint about it next time he's back in the states, that way you will have a "part" of him close to home.

The Hitachi Magic Wand with attachments...the "Gold Standard" of vibes, a true multi-tasker (clitoral, g-spot, insertion, anal, alone, during sex, etc.), a great massager, quality, value...basically the best product EVER, IMO. Best deal here

Rabbit Pearl/Rabbit Habit...get one that has a separate controller on a chord (for ease of use, and more fun with your man) that takes 3 'C' batteries. I'm on my second one, though the first lasted for 4 years of heavy use, have bought them for girlfriends (they've bought them for others), and it's just a great toy. I buy them brand new on eBay for about $20 including shipping (Cate mentioned Seakap...they have an eBay store and items, but are a little overpriced on some things), and have no idea why people would pay so much ($40-100) when the exact same thing so inexpensive on eBay. You can find the Mature Audiences section under 'Everything Else' from the 'Browse Categories' page. There's an adult login and age verification, but it's free, and completely worth the few minutes to get the great deals. Ebay is a super place to pick up a bunch of things to try without draining your bank account....it's how we started with toys and narrowed down what we liked.

Another very popular electric vibe is the Wahl 7-in-1 "massager." It's quiet, there's a great attachment for clit stim and another for men, provides a different sensation, and is usually available on Amazon.com for the bargain price of $9.99. Plus, if you need other things for a total of $25, you get free shipping. You may see the Conair knock-off at somewhere like Walmart, but it's not the same...it heats up and is rediculously weak, so don't be fooled.

I agree with Cate on the eggs/bullets. They even have little bunnies and other jelly shapes you can slip over them to make it into the clit-stimulating part of the Rabbit, like THIS. Not all bullets are created equal though...the one on that page is one of the good ones, and Babeland is a great resource, though pretty pricey for shopping.

I'm with the other ladies here. I have a LOT of toys, but if I was going to start over again the Hitachi, egg/bullet, pocket rocket, and rabbit would be at the top of my list. In terms of adaptability, ease of use, and cost they are all good choices. I have an adult store that I get the egss at cheap. I always buy at least 5 of them for about $6 each. They aren't very durable, but at that cost they are almost disposable.

Glass is great

First time poster here, but had to reply to this. If you aren't looking for a vibrating toy, and are willing to spend a bit of money, I'd go for a glass toy. I was a little confused by it myself until I actually felt one out of the display case, they can get hot or cold and the non porus surface is so slippery. Your local store should have some of them, I like the look of the ones made by Phallix because they have a few shapes and sizes and decorations on them. Mine cost about 90 bucks and was worth every penny, I plan on going back and buying another when I have a little more cashflow going on. Being glass, I was worried that it might break, but it's solid medical grade pyrex and I don't see how (barring super rough treatment or being dropped on cement) it can break. They are also dishwasher safe, which cracked me up, but made sense, they get completely sterilized in there and even if you "hand wash" them, they are a pleasure to clean.

I've owned a couple of dildos/vibrators. My current toy is a hot pink seven inch 2" round strawberry scented vibrator that I got online. It is too big (wide) for me but it has a pretty good vibrating action. It has a suction cup base for use in the shower but the suction cup doesn't (he he) suck.

My favorite toy was a six inch 1 1/2 in round dildo that was great for penetration action but alas I moved in with my folks for a short while and that was the first thing to go when I had to sort through my possessions. *sigh*

Strawberry scented??? Where in the world do they come up with these things? I just can't imagine how someone would think of scenting a sex toy, and then go on to think that might be a selling point.

Then again, maybe I'm just a freak who has never thought of smelling sex toys, and too much of a purist to want a scratch-and-sniff vibe on or in the girly bits. :D

Thanks for the giggle, Indigo. I'm sure it was a great choice, I'm just often cracked up by the "features" they come up with. We have a vibe that has a tiny lightbulb on the tip inside that gets brighter as the speed increases. I can't figure that one out either.

Hey, they scent toilet paper for Pete's sake. Who's gonna smell that?

get yourself a Wabbit. Clit stumulator and dildo. Heavenly combination :D

Try a twix candy bar.. it can be a dildo one second and a treat afterwards. That's what I do.

LOL

I know what you mean about scenting odd things. However, I was hoping to avoid that horrible latex smell that all new vibrators seem to have. Didn't work. It was like strawberry scented latex. :p

Your comment gave me a flashback I thought I would share with you. When I was in grad school I had a bartending job. I had found a pocket rocket that had a flashlight on one end. I carried it in my pocket to use as a flash light to look inside the beer cases. A co-worker saw it one night and asked, "Is that what I think it is?" I replied, that if she thought it was a vibe that it was. I never saw anyone blush so brightly in my entire life.

If anyone is interested in a good source for glass/pyrex dildos here's a very good one.

I particularly like the ones that you can leave out on the coffee table as "Object de art." Some of their stuff is pretty pricey but they are usually the higher quality, more unusual items.

i've harbored an obsession with king sized snickers bars for this reason for quite some time, lol... always wanted to write an erotic story about candy.

I'm curious...are you using the candy bars wrapped, or unwrapped? If they're unwrapped, aren't you concerned about giving yourself infections?

I see that four of her seven posts are about Twix Bars. Either she has a fetish or she's chosen an odd way to be a troll.

One thing not mentioned that I noticed when purchasing a vibrator is the location of the vibrating unit and the spot where it has the greatest effectiveness. I had one where the "sweet spot" was near the base which to me was virtually useless. I don't use the vibrator so much for penetration as I do for clitoral stimulation. I found a pretty realistic latex one where the greatest intensity of the vibrations was right at the tip...ideal. This one came from bettersex.com

I would like to experiment with one of the glass dildos and try warming it up. They are pretty pricey though.

I have to admit, this is the first time I've seen someone mention a "sweet spot" on a vibrator. I learn something every day here. :)

I think it's the Manny Ramirez autographed model... :D

Now if only I could apply this knowledge to my golf game.

Sorry for the mini-hijack, but I just wanted to announce that I'm also a toy newbie who's anxiously awaiting some things that I ordered on Friday. :)

Omg, tell us what you get and how you like it (if you can spare a moment :D )! I'm on my second vibe in the last 2 years. The first one sounds like a cement mixer which takes some of the mood away. The newest one runs on 2-AA batteries and seems to go forever.

I don't even remember--isn't that terrible? I ordered some vibes and dildoes from Amazon. The vibes were pretty basic; the dildoes were bigger than my husband (per his request). Even if they don't last long, they were cheap.

So I noticed that, on Amazon, there were prices for either new or used items, though I didn't click on "see used items." Is that for real? Because I'm sure as hell not gonna buy a dildo that might have been up someone's ass.

When I have to buy used, I'll stick to books, thanks.
