Some context for Trump's pathetic bacon rant:

• Bacon is a commodity item. It rises and falls based on supply and demand. 'Free market' and all that.
• Bqcon has spiked in price three times in the past twelve years, once during the Obama administration, once during the Trump administration and once during the Biden administration.
• Trump began railing about bacon prices in his stump grievances speech when the price spiked in late 2022.
• I like to eat bacon and eggs, and I remember this period when bacon jumped from about $5.20 a pound to $7.50 a pound seemingly overnight.
• You know what I did personally? I stopped buying bacon temporarily.
• Prices eventually fell back to historical norms and I began buying bacon again.
• Meanwhile, Trump continues to rail against bacon prices as if they are still astronomically high (historically speaking).
• Somehow he has managed (in his head) to equate bacon prices with windmill power production.
• I seriously doubt Trump knows what the current price of bacon is, he, like Rightguide, simply wants to complain.
• Bacon is currently about $6.25 per pound. I picked some up two days ago for $5 per pound.
