Trump indicted in documents case

That sums up Karen Lake really. Trump is playing chess at a checkers game - and you just know she didn't know what she's writing.

If the game is checkers...and you try playing using chess rules...you lose the game of checkers. This is the problem with Republicans...they want the goalposts to keep moving.

This 'documents' indictment has been dragging along for a while, so I thought I'd remind myself of some of the excuses that Trump has used so far. This is only a short list of what I can remember; there will be more out there.

They were planted by the horrible corrupt commies at the FBI and that means they’re mine.

I declassified them by the power of hindsight.

The movers picked them up along with the trash by mistake.

They are privileged by my former employment.

They are privileged because I want my attorney to see them.

I want them for a book that someone else might write for me.

I think previous Presidents may have done the same.

They are only press clippings since I declassified the contingency war plans.

The Presidential Records Act doesn’t apply to the President.

The librarians in the National Archives are corrupt by telling people what I stole.

The Flori-duh judge is already trying to maneuver some shit in Trump's favor. Problem is, she's not smart enough to pull this off without exposing herself. She even screws up basic judicial duties.

Will be interesting to see how Jack plays his cards...

property mngr and nauta back in court tomorrow
Carlos De Oliveira, the property manager, is scheduled to be arraigned in Fort Pierce before a magistrate judge on charges including conspiracy to obstruct justice in the case brought by special counsel Jack Smith. De Oliveira made an initial appearance in court late last month but didn't enter a plea because he hadn't yet found a Florida-based attorney to represent him, as is required under court rules.

The property manager of Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate and an aide to the former president are due back in federal court in Florida to face charges in the case accusing Trump of illegally hoarding classified documents at his club.
Walt Nauta, a Trump aide, is expected to enter a plea for a second time in the case — this time on a new indictment with additional charges recently handed down. Nauta pleaded not guilty last month after the case was first brought in June.

The former president was also scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on the new indictment, which includes allegations that Trump schemed with De Oliveira and Nauta to try to delete Mar-a-Lago security footage sought by investigators.

But Trump filed court papers last week saying that he is not guilty of the charges and waived his right to appear at the hearing.
The indictment includes new counts of obstruction and willful retention of national defense information.

Trump is now asking his Judge Aileen Cannon to re-establish (declare) Mar a Lardo as a secure location for classified documents, so that he can read again what it was that he denied having in the first place.

Why does he want to read them? He never read a briefing paper longer than a golf score card, so the chance of him sitting down and poring over the military proposals for random wars or new nuclear submarines is zero. He must have sold them already to a foreign power and now they are pressing for delivery.

I personally hope Trump falls eventually, but I keep waiting for the day. Glad Kari’s day came already, may we never need to confirm the decision.
