just the way every president of the United States of America should be storing state secret documents... not.The revised affidavit, which was first reported by POLITICO’s Kyle Cheney, also described how the door to the storage room was “painted gold” and is reachable by several wooden stairs.
In addition, investigators found other boxes intermingled with the ones containing classified documents, including several which held “merchandise such as challenge coins, garment bags, memorabilia from Mar-a-Lago such as photograph frames, and other décor items.”

And as I understand it, the President doesn't have the authority to declassify nuclear secrets. That authority is vested in the Department of Energy by the authority of Congress. The DoE can provide redacted versions to the President if he needs them to do his job, but he's not authorized to see the originals.Side issue: more than once in recent days I've heard TV commentators say only the president can declassify documents. That's not true. They can be declassified by whoever classified them in the first place. There's a procedure for that. Beyond that, all government offices have committees of employees charged with reviewing and declassifying documents.

Trump wants to delay the trial for years. But if he’s innocent and wants his boxes back, why?
The reason for the proposed delay?https://www.politico.com/news/2023/07/11/trump-classified-documents-trial-date-2024-00105565
Trump wants to delay the trial for years. But if he’s innocent and wants his boxes back, why?
And that’s why it’s so very important that he never gets a whiff of the presidency again.he wants to play it out till he wins (he's demanding to win) the nomination and then presidency, after which he'll unilaterally pardon himself or have people put into the DOJ to abruptly end any ongoing investigations into his corruption
The August date was moved to December at the DOJ’s request. The Trump team is now pushing to delay until after the election. Butters is probably right about the Trump team’s strategy. If he wins the presidency all bets are off.I can't see the trial happening in August; everyone involved including the jury will have to be vetted first. But Trump's lawyers asked for this early date and when it was granted they asked for an indefinite continuance. They are a bunch of complete idiots who shouldn't be standing up in traffic court.
