So why are there recognition panels in the Visitor Center honoring two Black soldiers when there are no panels recognizing the service of men of other races among the more than 8,300 U.S. soldiers buried there? These panels were installed in 2024 under a Biden-era DEI initiative. Recognition of those who served and died in World War II should be based solely on sacrifice and service, not race. Elevating racial identity as a qualifying criterion does not honor equality; it undermines it by selectively valorizing some sacrifices over others. Every man buried there earned remembrance in the same way: by giving his life in service to the country.

There are many dipshit, racist Americans, most from the MAGA cult that don't even know African Americans served in WWII. So telling their history is a good thing.
