Europe is under no illusions at all about what the USA would do about any conflict in Europe. The USA would stay out of it for as long as possible making as much money as possible selling arms. In WWI the USA's first armed involvement was delayed until 3.5 years into a 4 year war. In WWII UK fought mostly alone for 2.5 years and saw off any invasion threat. Henry Ford like many others was still making a buck; he last sold war materiel to Hitler in December 1943. Eventually The Red army ensured the downfall of Hitler, At the Battles of Kursk in July/August 1943 there was more men and more armour in conflict than in all the rest of the battles of the entire war put together. The Western front after D day was important, but US troops were still a minority even in that theatre. Then Hollywood got hold of the narrative and re-wrote history.

America has always been an uncertain ally of Europe and she should continue to be so. The USA should only protect its own interests and stay away if possible. Its great victories have been not in winning the great wars but in winning the subsequent peace which it unquestionably has done, both economically and politically.

I understand you want to believe that moderates aren't confused while also calming everything is a spectrum and everything is totally overlapped and compatible.

But the reality is some political views are antithetical to one another, you can't combine them, you can't overlap them, it's probably a binary choice but sometimes it's multiple choice, either way you still have to pick one in the end. Being able to have your cake and eat it too is rare and the excemption, not the norm.
