The thread was a massive help for me and I had a very special "support buddy" too. As Perdita said, having individuals, and even a group supporting and encouraging you, helps no end.

There's loads of tips in that thread. The best one I can give you right now? In the beginning, take it one hour at a time. Then one day at a time, and so on. Also, drink water, especially after you eat something. I think it was Lew that told me that one. As he said, a lot of the craving to smoke comes from taste (wanting to smoke after eating, etc), eliminate that with water.

Hi Goldie,

If you can, get hold of some really strong French or Czech cigarettes. They didn't just make me not want to smoke again - they made me physically sick.
