Pick Out A Few BDSM Stories To Read
Why not simply pick a few BDSM stories to read, sampling from among a few authors, to get a feel for the genre and the different styles. Then work some ideas around your characters and their personalities.
BDSM is not simply one thing - it is many and it incorporates a lot of what is sexy in other categories, too. So find a scenario or vignette that you want to bring to life and try to make it real. And it isn't all about pain or hurting someone or degrading them, either. The best stories are as much about the emotions and desires and passion as they are about someone commanding another.
The important thing is to make the characters "real" instead of pasteboard imitations. Decide on your story idea before you construct the domination/submisison theme around it.
And then simply write it. After all, what's the worst that can happen?
