Mornin’, treacle.Oh, and morning
Too close to the light pollution capital of London. Wouldn't see it from here. Unless there's a black out...
Damned, Trump is everywhere! Was one of the things I really noticed when I moved out to the sticks! No more orange glow (as it was then)
Shhh, everybody! @Fufumberuk is here! This thread seems to have picked up.... It went very quiet for a time.
I love this!Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.
- Albert Einstein.
The quote that fitted my day the best, just.. Do not stand still.. Keep moving forward.
Hope everyone have had a wonderful day!
Tomorrow is Friday.. that is kinda awesome.

my bicycle has a rusted chain
WD40, and it is as good as new!![]()
i went to some bike races at the weekend and the air was thick with the smell of WD40
When the air becomes sticky with the aerosols... But, humid air like we have right now, it is the death of a good bike.
they were racing through sand, so jetwash and WD40 were the order of the day.
Ugh.... That made me wince!! Poor bikes!!
Oh please, lots and lots of jetwash with WD40.
good job i didn't mention about racing along the tideline of the sea to get traction in the firmer sand.
oops
I have said this before… you are most resourceful… and the person I want by my side in the zombie apocalypse! This is funny.. and, I may have both standing on the shelf right beside the entrance door.. You know, just in case.![]()
... Blimey?!! But... Oh no... First you made me wince, now full-blown shivering!!
They did not?! Sand.. salt.. ugh... Just, on so many levels.. My bicycle heart is bleeding!!
Ugh.. what a nightmare! Those bikes are going to need soooooo much TLC afterwards!!
They have a jetwash in the pit area and every team has one in the "paddock". It was good to watch and slightly worrying as the tide came in over part of the course, but it did mean they could run to the firm sand and ride along (not allowed to actually go into the water, but they certainly got their tyres wet) to be quicker.
the bikes were thoroughly cleaned after - and during if the rider came in to change.
When you describe it like that, it does make me curious.. biking in the loose sand is nothing but a nightmare.
And it sounds as if the riders were really pushing themselves.. and their poor bikes!
Still, what a different kind of race! Very fascinating.
it was the European Cyclocross champs, but the Belgians and Dutch often race in sand on 'cross races - or mud. or both!
