After Mad Friday is probably a good idea. There seem to be very few these days who stick to the traditional St Nicholas' Day (6 Dec) to Twelfth Night (6 Jan).

Over here we take the tree in around the 23rd of December. 😅

I grew up with decorating the tree on the 24nd, and that no one got to see it all decorated, with presents underneath and the candles lit before the evening - after the dinner - when we were going to dance around it singing julesange.🎄🎁🎶🕯️
- Aaaaand then we all sat around the tree, opening our presents, one at a time, snacking and lots of hygge.

To me it is weird that you guys have taken it in already! 🙈

Here in the USA people start decorating earlier every year. To me Christmas has lost it's meaning because it is so over commercialized. I like your tradition a lot better!!

European traditions sometimes have extra presents on St Nicholas' Eve and the main exchange on Christmas Eve. Here it (used to be / is) the decorations up on St Nicholas' Day and the presents on Christmas Day.
