The real answer, always

Just had some lower back-neuro-implant surgery last week, which got infected..
Oh, and my right wrist, which I thought was just injured in November, I just got told today that I am the lucky owner of a fancy diagnose: "Kienböck's disease".

But, I do love the weather and went for a 5 km walk in the city today. 😅

Your turn:

How's you? 😁

Ouch. I hope the infection clears up and isn't too painful. And I hope your wrist is OK. I just googled Kienböcks Disease. Sounds nasty

Nice to get out and walk though!

I have to toughen it out and keep the implant until Thursday, then get it all removed.. get treated and cleared, just so I can do the operation all over again.
(I am on several different kinds of antibiotics right now, my poor body is feeling a bit knackered 😆)

Sucks? Of course, but it is easy to smile - the surgery worked, it did what it we had hoped it would do.
I just need to stay strong for the last duration of the test period, then I can get the whole thing done in 3-6 months time, depending on how well I heal.

Yeah, the Kienböck's disease.. it is not especially pleasant, but it is still stage one, so that is a really good thing!

I love walking! And when it is windy and frosty outside, it just feels like your head is getting cleared and you cannot help but smile! 🤩

@Cat love the positive attitude and hope all is on the up from here on for you

Thank you! But honestly.. it is easy: the surgery is going to make my life sooooo much better!!
That does not mean that I am not annoyed about the infection, of course it is frustrating.

But I get the best treatment, I can go, and I do go, to the hospital almost daily to get checked up upon.
I do not have to sell the forest house or deal with any insurance.

I am literally getting a piece of my life back that I thought I had lost.
We were not even sure how well I would respond to the neuro surgery, but my gosh. I feel lucky.

My wrist, I mean - it is still the same pain I had yesterday, nothing has changed, only that the condition now got a fancy name and I know what to do!
Now I can actually prevent it from getting worse too fast.

That is pretty good!

There is always a silver lining, and yeah.. I am an insufferable optimistic realist. 😆
