local writer's groups

How about local writers’ co-ops?

I imagine that there are two kinds of Literotica visitors: readers and writers. And that the writers fall into two categories too: pervy folk who just love to write about smut (nowt wrong with that of course!) and people who would really, really like to get published in a printed medium and (perhaps) even write some non-erotica some day.

If I’m right, I wonder if the “writers” couldn’t benefit from setting up writers’ groups or even co-operatives. The aim would be to help each other write (mutual proof reading, litcrit, etc.) and help each other find publishers or literary agents.

Obviously, people nervous of their anonymity might like to set this up via anonymous e-mail in the first place; e.g. create a sobriquet on hotmail. We could also look at each other’s stories on this site first perhaps.

Let me know what you think. I’m in London. Let others know your location so that they can suggest local groups: Edinburgh area, NE England, or whatever...

Cheers, Evelyn.

PS Meeting over (or in) a pub might make it more interesting.

stuff

Two little boys are caught by a policeman. One’s been drinking battery acid, the other’s been eating fireworks. So he charges one and lets the other one off.

More respect for the great, late Tommy.

Thanks Pops

Monarchy or Republic?

Ok, lets see if we can start a debate.

Whats everyones opinion on the monarchy?

Is it a good thing? or should the royal family finish?

Lets hear your views.....Its over to you! :D

I say scrap it. Doesn't seem to me like they do much anyway.

I forgot to mention in my first post here that what I'm looking for is an older woman ( I'm 19 so it shouldn't be difficult ) to exchange e-mails and possible phone calls with.

Right then, how is everyone today?

mmm, personally im an ardent royalist, i see them as figureheads of the nation but thats just me, im not going to knock anyone for disagreeing with me, afterall were all members here of a site that promotes free speech about a subject far touchier (to some people) - sex, well erotica anyway.

Don't care about the Monachy they can stay or go for all I care,
Just stop giving money from the people to them and don't expect me to bow to any of them if I ever met them :D

Hi everyone,

Hope you having a great day, mine could have been much better but thats a long story which I can't be bothered to tell, lol

The monarchy is essentially just a figurehead. They may be an expensive figurehead but the monarchy retains very little real power and any law that requires the Queen's rubber stamp of approval is just a fomality. As such i can't see why we shouldn't have a monarchy. The power is in the hands of elected officials while the monarchy is there to act as a rallying banner in the case of any national events.

....just like that.

GAH!!!

I just remembered my dream from last night.. really, really strange. I was in an old aeroplane, and going to some sort of camp, where you stayed in old hotels. And Orlando Bloom was sitting next to me on the old aeroplane. Bizarre..

Recently read two books. One is VERY good--Daughter of the Empire. But one thing: you will NOT want to marry Mara. She is simply too intelligent and manipulative. Clever, clever heroine.

I think the monarchy should be made smaller, and fund itself, after all, they've got plenty of land etc to generate an income. They are good for the tourism industry, but i wouldn't want them to have any real power.

Seems Marsipanne has a thing for Orlando Bloom! ;)

Are you always reading Marsipanne, it takes me weeks to finish a book!

Afternoon everyone how are we today?, it looks like it going to be a nice day for a change.
Pengy- it seems marsipanne has a thing for a lot of people:D , she also does have a voracious appetite for reading, not to mention writing as well.
