I'm feeling excited because I'm getting books!! I know, joy!!

1. The Mummy by Anne Rice (hopefully)
2. The DaVinci Code (almost definite)
3. Stone of Tears
4. Pride of Prejudice (I've read it a zillion times but don't have own copy--it's weird)

The last I'm getting if I've got enough money. Have to get some books for brother too.

hi all. seen ur pics boobyprize very nice. never reaqd anne rice books but seen the films. let me no what its like

not a fan of football prefer motorsports. hope england do well mind. be good for the country.

Didn't get any books wanted to. Instead got His Dark Materials trilogy. I personally really like Anne Rice, though her books are really strictly a matter of taste. My favourites are Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned. I've seen Interview with the Vampire and I really like it. I've heard that the movie version of Queen of the Damned is awful though, and I haven't seen that.

I'm not a huge football fan but I sorta understand the off-side rule and I quite like watching it. One of my best friends is a footie-nut and spends a ton of money buying all the magazines (we call it 'porn' because that's the section it's near). I know a bit about football, but not tons. I saw a teeny bit of the Russia/Spain match today. However, decided to go watch this Chinese miniseries that I've got on DVD again. It's a sort of historical Romeo 'n' Juliet story. Only the Romeo is the effing EMPEROR and the Juliet is the last surviving member of the previous dynasty. I originally watched it because a bunch of people called my mother and told her that I looked like the person playing the lead female (I do--kinda--same smile, same face-shape, but that's it). It's a really good old piece of melodrama with a really, really convoluted plot and the most open ending ever.

However, you know they don't get together because in history Emperor Kanxi never married some princess of the previous dynasty. So.. what happens in reality? She goes and probably never sees him again.

Mope.

sounds an intresting film. i like manga . love the sci fi ones . ghost in the shell and metroplas are my faves. love reading horror books and terry pratchett.

I have Exit to Eden, but to be honest I was pretty dissapointed.

Much prefer Nancy Friday's books which of course are a compilation of real fantasies, I like it better knowing that someone has actually submitted the fantasies.

Hello

Hi Wanderer

Welcome here (I don't think you been here before have you?)

Post any time!!!

I have Exit to Eden, but to be honest I was pretty dissapointed.

I haven't read any of Anne Rice's erotica. Asides from this site, I haven't bought anything raunchy other than smutty historical romances (have serious weakness for them).

It's pretty interesting, but it's a mini-series, not a film. A 120-episode miniseries (1-hour long episodes). More like an epic miniseries really! It was very successful in Taiwan and it was aired on the Phoenix Chinese channel here.

I ADORE manga, but living in England, it's kinda restricted. Generally I stick to shoujo because that's what my friends read and we can swap books and stuff. My favourite is Paradise Kiss and something which has yet to be translated into English--Detective Conan. I like reading fantasy too. Rice is my only venture into Horror really and I don't find her books scary at all. Just remembered; I've read a fair amount of Christopher Pike too. My favourite fantasy authors are JKRowling and Terry Goodkind. I've never read Terry Pratchett; I'm starting this summer.

Marsipanne mentioned manga being somewhat restricted. Being (myself) a not-at-all-frequent tourist to the UK, I'm not familiar with what's on sale and what's not in bookstores and video shops. Not that I'd try buying any to take home through customs in any case (c.f.: John Ashcroft), but I'm curious what the laws are like.

Oh, and if you're conducting a poll on living British authors, I'd rank Pratchett, Rowling, A.S. Byatt, and Lynne Truss at or near the top, in four very different genres; sadly, Douglas Adams is no longer among the living.....

Actually you're dead right :rose:

This site is the best place for all the free raunchy stories you need, and to be honest they're much better than the ones on sell anyway, noone ever needs to buy anything else ever...

I like Hentai, is that the erotic form of Manga  never really sure about these things

As for non-erotic authors - Iain Banks (fiction) / Iain M Banks (sci-fi) is my favourite

I would recommend the earlier novels, I found he got a little stale after the 7th book or so. I think MORT is my favourite - his characterisation of death is first class - but the first witches book (3 witches ?? not sure of the name) is also very good.

Hello all:kiss: :)

.......yep, Pratchett (Mort is also my favorite), Rowling, James Herbert (early stuff like Rats, Lair, domain, Fluke, there's more but I can't remember) and the late J R R Tolkien:kiss: :rose:
