Gambit

::He was still entangled in a battle with one of the Sentenals, but he had managed to take an arm from its body. Soon though he would have to take it out ofr risk getting surrounded.

He looked around and saw that the girls were playing one upmanship with their sentenals. He couldnt help but laugh at them. His mind off of the Sentenal before him allowed the Sentenal to score a good blow that knocked him fifty yards and slammed him into a fer pieces of equipment.

Wincing and spitting up blood, he attempted to regain his footing, and being injured he merely empties his coat of all playing cards, charging each one before hurling them in a barrage at the three sentenals he could see in his line of sight.::

Sentinel

The last three Sentinels to come away from the wall scanned the room. They could see that some of the other Sentinels were in need of help. But first, they wanted to secure the area. Just as they were about to enter the fray, a shower of energy from Gambit hit the lead one full in the head. The resulting explosion tore the Sentinels head clean off and made it fall into the other two Sentinels.

Moira Mactaggert

Moira was waiting for Jubilee to help her when Styger became scared. He inadvertantly activated his power, a portal yawning in the middle of the room. An hot wind pulled all the loose objects in the room into the portal. The vaccuum being created also pulled in two of the largest pieces of furniture. Moira had grabbed onto Stygers bed, using it as an anchor. She watched in horror as the vacuum pulled Jubilee into the vortex. She tried her best, but her own grip slipped as Moira was also drawn into the portal.

Wolverine watched as the be-headed Sentinel fell into the other two, causing one of them to fall over. Wolverine leapt onto the back of the fallen-over Sentinel and slashed it in the neck. Hydraulic fluid began leaking out the tears, causing it to look as if the Sentinel was bleeding. Wolverine ran as sparks started shooting out from the severed wires. The sparks landed in the pool of hydraulic fluid and ignited it, resulting in an explosion.

Magma and Magik

The resulting explosion sent out a air ram that lifted the girls off their feet. Their lighter weight was easily lofted into the air and they hit the opposite wall hard. Their bodies slid down the wall to land in a heap on the ground. Neither of them moved.

Asteriod M

Magneto cocked his head as he listened to what Beast had to say. After pausing for a moment, Magneto thanked Beast and made a small gesture. A metal container that had been off to the side suddenly flew over towards Beast. His attention had been centered on Magneto so Beast did not have a chance to move as he was cocooned in the container.

Magneto looked into the clear glass window that showed the face of his opponent. "Beast , Beast, you did not think I would just take you into my fold after all these years of Xaviers brainwashing. I will keep you in storage for the moment. If your information proves true, I will let you out of your cage and we will talk some more. " Magneto nodded for two of his men to take the container away.

Magneto sat down at his desk to contemplate his next move. He now knew that Xavier was doing all he could to save the other beings that the Sentinels were trying to kill. This would mean that Xavier would soon have a stronger group than Magneto's own. The only advantage that Magneto had was the fact that the Sentinels had as of yet found a way to get to the asteroid. He turned to Sabertooth and Toad.

"I want you two on a shuttle as fast as you can. I need some information as to how far along they are with the Sentinels to sent out here. Also , take a run by the mansion to see what Charles is up to. Now get out of here. " Magneto watched as his two lackeys left the room. He would get the information back and then decide what he had to do.

Gambit

::The explosion created a cloud of smoke so thick that you could barely see you hand before your face. Gambit stood still waiting for any movement, but as the smoke cleared not a single sentenel stood. They had all fallen victim to Gambit's wild tantrum.

He looked around and saw that only Logan, Colossus, and himself has remained on their feet after the blast. A coser search of their surroundings revieled that the girls in the group had been knocked to a wall and were in fact out cold.

He moved quickly to them and wrapped his cloak around Magik, scooping her into his arms.::

Someone get Magma and we'll get them to the jet, then we can come back and finish this....

Colossus

Peter wiped the debris from his face. As always , his armored body protected him from most harm. He noticed that Illyana and Amara had not been so lucky. He ran towards them as Gambit picked up Illyana. Peter pulled her from his arms. " I will take care of my sister Gambit. You can take Amara. Let us get them out of here. " Peter turned from Gambit as he strode back through the corridors to the surface.

Gambit

::He paused for a moment contemplating what the difference was in who they carried seeing that both girls were out cold, but apperantly Colossus had some reason. Who was he to judge, so he scooped up Magma and followed the other pair from the Stronghold leaving Logan to sort through it all while they saw to the girls::

Wolverine sat against the wall he was thrown into, letting his body heal the wounds from the explosion. Pieces of shrapnel were being popped out of his body. He watched Gambit and Colossus carry off the girls. When he was fully healed, he got up and walked over to the control console for the Sentinels. He began pushing buttons, starting up the self-destruct sequence. He chuckled at the typical government-types who always decided to cover their tracks by blowing up the evidence. When the sequence began, alarms started blaring and lights started flashing. A computerized voice announced the beginning of the 3-minute countdown. Wolverine ran out of the huge room and made his way out of the facility.

Sentinel

The four operational sentinels regrouped above Muir Island. Their wireless communication would have come out as garbled radio garbage. Sentinel 6220 was directing the others when it detected a massive power drain inside the castle. It sent sentinel 6225 to find that drain. Sentinel 6223 and 6224 were sent to sweep the two sides of the castle searching for survivors that were in need of termination. Suddenly, Sentinel 6220 was felled from behind by the attacks of Iron man. Its metal hide reflecting the setting sun as it exploded into shards on the rocky outcropping of the island.

Sentinel 6225 flew rapidly to the source of the drain. Its sensors detected a mutant behind a wall of force. The sentinel tried to fly through this wall, not realizing it was a dimensional portal that it was flying into. The sentinel was gone from sight before it could radio a message.

Sentinel 6224 was flying along the west side when it was blindsided by a blast. Its right side was dented in to a severe degree by an unknown power source. It turned its head in time to see Banshee rising from out of the surf. A scowl of righteous anger was evident on Banshees face as he sent out another blast of power towards the sentinel.

Sentinel 6223 was flying along the east side and spyed some figures moving through some half destroyed corridors. It flew closer to get its bearings. It detected the direction they were going towards. It boosted its rocket jets, arriving ahead of the group. The sentinel dropped its feet down onto the remaining corridor, its body blocking the corridor.

Gambit

::He quickly got Magma into the Xjet, Buckled her in, then jumped up into the cockpit and got the engins to raor to life. His X-men training never forgotten, he quickly remembered how to get the Jet moving.::

Just like riding a bike....Strap in back there, when Logan gets to the jet were heading out of here. Dont want to be near this when it goes up....

::He grabbed the wheel and got the jet ready for a verticle take off as he waited for Logan.::

Moira Mactaggert

Moira slowly got up off of the ground. She wiped the sweat from her face as she looked around her. The heat and humidity was much higher than Muir Island, but she was not sure where she was. She saw that Jubilee was on the ground, rolled up into a ball under a large tree. Moira moved towards her, checking her for any problems. She seemed to be ok, just exhausted. Moira closed her eyes for a moment just to rest her eyes. She heard a large noise overhead as she saw a Sentinel speed overhead and crash into the large stand of trees to her right.

Iceman

Bobby watched as a Sentinel dropped down on top of the corridor that they were going down. He could see that their way was blocked by the massive foot and leg of the robot. He used his power to create a temporary ice shield over the childrens heads. "Kids, get behind me. Go down the corridor further and into the last room we passed. " He watched as the kids did as he instructed. Bobby turned back to see what Mr. Grimm would do.

Brotherhood of Evil

Sabertooth looked out the cockpit as they overflew the Sentinel facility. Toad had used a powerful lens on his digital camera to take pictures of what the site looked like. There was a large gantry set up outside that housed a 25 foot tall Sentinel. With his naturally enhanced vision, Sabertooth could see technicians working like ants over the surface of the Sentinel. Not having the technical knowledge as some of the other brotherhood did, nonetheless Sabertooth was able to identify panels being installed that would shield out ultrviolet radiation. If he had to guess, he figured it would only be a few days before the Sentinel was operational.

Sabertooth was about to use the onboard weapons to attack the Sentinel when his hand was stopped by Toad. "Sabertooth, you know what the boss said. We are to observe. Besides, even if we destroy this one, there are bound to be others ready to blow us from the sky. Lets do that flyby at Xaviers Mansion and then get back to the Asteriod.

Toad piloted the jet/space shuttle for a closer look at the mansion. Or better to say the site of destruction that stood where the mansion had once been located. Toad was appalled by the total annihilation of everything that had once belonged on the property. Not a single building, not even an outhouse, stood above the ground. A pile of rubble that had to measure at least 30 feet thick covered most of the mansion grounds.

Toad gave a salute to a worthy opponent and said a small prayer for himself as he thought of the power of the Sentinels. He turned to Sabertooth. "I have never seen that kind of destruction. Can even Magneto stand up to that ? I pray that he can for all our sakes. Lets go. " Toad set off the aft thrusters, kicking in the afterburner as the jet escaped the earths atmosphere.

Thing

The Thing looked at Bobby after all the kids were through safe. "Good job Iceman. Pull that down so I can reach the robot, it's clobberin' time."

Once Bobby pulled down the ice shield, Ben strutted forward and began beating on the robot's leg with both fists. Ben intended to make a hole big enough to climb in and then tunnel up inside until he reached the power source of the Sentinel.

Sentinel

Sentinel 6223 watched as its laser was deflected by a shield of ice. His cpu was about to convert to a heat laser when the shield was taken down. The sensors on its lower body reported that damage was occuring. It looked down and saw a large orange creature hitting its legs. Pistoning its hydraulic laden legs, the sentinel kicked the creature away from it and back through the stone wall. Its audio sensors detected a splash as the creature landed in the water.

Wolverine left the underground Sentinel factory as he heard explosions going off behind him. He reached the X-Jet and saw Gambit and Collossus helping the girls get settled in. Wolverine got a little worried when he looked at Magma. She did not look like she was in good condition. He got strapped into his seat. "Okay, where to next?"

Colossus

Peter looked up at Logan as he stepped into the plane. "Let's first get out of here. " Peter switched on the ramjet and pulled back the yoke, pushing the plane into the air. After putting a mile of dead air behind them, Peter looked out the window and watched as the factory exploded in a fireball of orange-red smoke.

Peter heard a large beeping coming from the device that Magma had found on the plane. It had helped lead them to this factory. Peter had thought that it would stop beeping now that the factory was toast. But the beeping had changed in tone, but not in urgency. Peter turned back towards Logan.

"Let me put this in the sensor array of this plane. Something is not right here. "

Peter placed it in the compartment in the plane. After a few minutes, a paper came out of the instrument panel. Peter studied it for a minute. " Ummm guys, this paper has explained why this is still beeping. There is still one more factory intact for these Sentinels. The coordinates are here on the paper. Let's get this one destroyed before all of us are killed. " Peter waited to see what Logan had to say about it.

Thing

The Thing felt the Sentinel kick him through the wall and into the water. He sank like a stone. Holding his breath, Ben tried walking back to the shore. The slope was too steep and he slid back down the slime covered mud.

He was starting to get worried when he found a stream-dug channel and stumbled to the surface. Ben collapsed in the shallows, catching his breath.

His strength slowly recovered as he lay in the shallow water. At least he was still alive.

Iceman

Bobby watched as the Thing flew over his head in a graceless arc. He quickly turned and fired a thick layer of ice over the door where the kids had gone into hiding. Bobby grew a ice slide and avoided a sentinel blast as he moved towards the Thing. He arrived just as Mr. Grimm was pulling himself from the surf. Bobby could see how tired Mr. Grimm was. This was a battle he would have to take to the Sentinel on his own. Bobby turned his ice slide and moved back towards the Sentinel.

Iceman

Bobby sent out a prolonged blast of ice towards the Sentinels feet. The robot was held in place, its feet glued to the ground. Bobby send out a group of large ice boulders that hit the Sentinel in the chest. The robot overbalanced and fell over, its legs ripping out of the body. Hydraulic fluid leaked onto the walls of the castle as the rest of the body landed on its back on the beach.

Gambit

::He took the coordinats and started typing them into the computer tracking system. Soon a grid cam up on the screen and a few dots appeared each on a different color and labled as to what the dot corrisponded with.

One dot was marking their position and a second marked where the second sentinel construction somewhere within the paciffic ocean.::

The second sight is somewhere in the pacific ocean, but its not on a land mass....whats the call Logan?

Colossus

Peter was suprised to see that the coordinates led to the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Studying the map, he noticed that it was not on a mapped island. He figured that the factory would have to be in a place easily accessable to get supplies. But in this case maybe the privacy afforded out in the middle of nowhere was more important. He cocked his head towards Logan, waiting for his answer.

Asteriod M

Magneto stared at the floor for a moment as he absorbed the report of his underlings. So the mansion had been destroyed. All the altruistic ideas that Xavier had entertained over the years were all for naught. His passive ways of trying to have humans and mutants live together in peace were buried in a heap of rubble and death. Magneto was saddened to realize that his nemisis of so many years was now food for the worms. It seems that his own ideas of how to deal with humans were right all along. He used his power to pull an intercom receiver from the wall. "Forge, please come to my offices immediately, " he intoned over the speakers.

The scrawny young man presented himself to Magneto within a few minutes. Magneto looked at him with approval. "I wish all my people followed my orders with such alacrity. I want to know the status of the project you have been working on. Is it ready to be used?"

Forge looked at the Master of Magnetism. "Yes my lord it is ready to be used. Are you completely sure this is what you want to do? Once this path is chosen, there is no going back. Do you want me to activate the machine?"

Magneto looked off into space while he made his decision. He was sure this was the only thing that he could do to ensure the survival of the mutants. Well at least the mutants that were with him. He turned back to Forge. "Yes my boy, activate the machine. There is no alternative. " Magneto turned back, searching out the window; looking to the stars for forgiveness of his choice.
