Thing

Ben stuggled to control the X-Jet after the wing was hit with a missle. He dropped the X-Jet to the deck using the "Falling Leaf" maneuver and put the X-Jet into a vertical hover. He yelled, "Abandon Plane, except for you Bobby, meet you on top." The Thing grabbed the top of the fusilage and pulled himself on top of the X-Jet. He was joined by Iceman.

"Make me some ice bolders, I want to knock some Sentinels out of the sky." Bobby tossed boulders to the Thing, who hurled them at the remaining Sentinels.

Sentinel

The remaining four sentinels communicated over their wireless system. They had seen two of their numbers at least temporarily knocked out. They still had a number of target, some of which were causing some heavy damage. They decided to turn on their force fields, a modification that these Sentinels had been modified with since Stryker did not know what they would encounter.

Sentinel 6220 could feel some objects impinging on its force field. These were identified as large masses of frozen water. It compensated by increasing the power of its left boot jet to even out its flight. It turned to the source of the attack and changed its attack protocol. A heat laser emerged from its right arm as it sent a large flash of heat at the jet.

Sentinel 6221 used its magnify vision to see where the operator of the laser cannon that had knocked Sentinel 6222 from the air. Its force field shrugged off a few bursts from the laser cannon. The Sentinel opened a small hole in the field as it launched a guided missile at the laser. The missile caught the heat signature off the end of the laser barrel and homed it. An explosion rocked the castle as one of the turrets went down in a shower of aged masonary.

Iceman

Bobby tried to duck behind the Thing as the Sentinel attacked. The great bulk of his new friend helped stave off some of the heat, but enough got through to melt his ice covering. His body was rapidly dehydrated, his legs giving out as he fell down onto the top of the jet.

Sentinel

Sentinel 6223 turned to where two of the defenders were flying through the air. The one with the wings was identified as Wraith. The computer rapidly ran through its options to see what would be the best attack for this entity. The computer came up with a course of action.

It turned its passive ultraviolet scanner towards Wraith. It normally used this to scan in darkened conditions, but its information on this mutant identified this as a weak spot. It ramped up the power with a direct feed from it electrical power source to concentrate the ultraviolet light into a coherent beam a few inches thick. This struck Wraith, knocking him from the sky into the surf breaking on the islands shore.

Sentinel 6224 used this distraction to use its own weapons on Banshee. Creating an opposite sound wave to counter Banshee's sonic scream, the Sentinel broadcast it next to Banshee. His powers briefly flashed before being cancelled out. He awkwardly dove towards the ocean as his ability to fly was taken away.

The team exited the plane and Wolverine turned around when h heard Magma call his name. He smiled when he saw the box in her hands. "You know, I forgot all about this damn thing," he said to her as he took the box. He figured out how to work it and used it to gain info on the Sentinel's position. He led the team in theindicated direction, all the while keeping his senses perked up for any traps.

Temera heard the command to abandon the plane after the jolt so she unbuckled herself and prayed there was a small grassy clearing near the water..... as she pictured such a place she forgot about the erratic flight pattern of the plane and slipped into the fraction of a breath of nothingness as she........

Tony leapt from the back, his boosters going into effect and bringing him up to hover by Thing and Iceman. "There's too many Sentinels to just fight. We're gonna need to rescue the children and just get out of here. Ben, I need you for the rescue. You and Iceman make a good team, so you two go hit it. Me and Temera will stay here and delay the Sentinels for as long as we can. Now move!" he ordered, propelling himself towards a Sentinel, lasers firing rapidly.

Gambit

::He exited the Jet and followed the others. Soon they were within the complex thanks to Logan. once within Gambit pulled the staff from his coat and held it ready. He also took out a few cards holding them just in case as well.::

Now to find a control room or the production room for these things.

Colossus

Peter felt the usual displacement as Magik teleported them back to the X-Jet just before it landed. His body hurt from the damage that he had taken but he was to amped up to feel it much. He stepped off the plane after Logan had put the ramp down. His sister followed close behind him as he turned to armored form. They walked behind Gambit as he entered the complex.

Thing

Ben said to Bobby, "I'll push you off the jet into the water, so you can rehydrate. Then build an ice bridge to the shore, I haven't skated in a while, but it should be a fast ride onto shore."

Ben pushed Bobby off the X-Jet into the water. The Thing tried to dodge shots from the Sentinels while he waited for Bobby to build the ice bridge.

Iceman

Bobby regained consiousness as he body temperature took a downward plunge. The shock to his system brought him fully awake. His system rapidly rehydrated, the salt water a balm to his dry body. He stayed underwater for a minute or so, holding his breath as he luxuriated in the blessed cold.

Swimming back to the surface, Bobby froze the water under his feet. Making an ice ramp up to the jet, he turned it back down towards Muir Island. He watched as the Thing jumped onto his ice bridge. Bobby winced as the bridge barely held up under the Things weight. Bobby quickly made land, ending the ice bridge in the courtyard over the castle walls. He ran up to the security door, putting his hand over the Sensor. He spoke into the monitor. "Bobby Drake codename Iceman. " The door swung open slowly on pneumatic hinges.

Moira Mactaggert

Moira was frantic as she ran room to room checking on her patients. After making sure they were ok, she used one of Jamie's clones to move them to the shelter buried deep under the castle. Thank god for Jamies power, since at this time it was the essenstial thing needed. She was just getting to Styger's room when a Sentinel blast hit the wall beside her. A cascade of plaster and stone fell from the ceiling landing all around her.

Luckily for her, none of the larger ones fell on her. The small ones had little effect on her as her concentration was solely on the wellbeing of her patients. She used her cardkey on Stygers door and entered his room. She could see that he was still safely in his containment field. She turned at a sound at the door. Fearing the worst, she pulled a small handgun out of her doctors jacket. It turned out to be Jubilee.

"Thank god its only you Jubilee. Though with these metal monsters , this handgun would be as effective as spitting at them. Can you please help me check on Styger? I always have an orderly help me, but they are all busy getting the other patients to the shelter. "

Cannonball

Sam scooped Wild Card up in his arms. Flashing his powers out of his feet, he launched towards the mansion. He was amazed to notice that Wild Card's wounds were already starting to heal while they were flying. In a short span of time they arrived at the mansion. Or at least what had once been the mansion.

Sam landed in one of the few spots clear of debris. There was nothing left standing, everything had been destroyed down to the foundation. Sam pushed his foot into the nearest pile, displacing some of the rubble. Realizing it was fruitless, Sam turned back to Wild Card.

"Wild Card , I think this is taken out of our hands. As much as I would love to take the time to dig out the bodies and start the burial, we have no time. The professor would want us to be out helping those in need. I think we should go to NYC and see if anyone can use our help. I do not think they will need our help at Muir Island. They have more than enough firepower. What do you think of the idea? "

Temera sighed with relief as she feel the ground under her feet but the moment didn't last long as she saw and heard the carnage going on around her. She took that moment to freeze time and ran up to a damaged but still operational sentinel that was near the wall of what appeared to be a fortress and proceeded to gut it... at least what she could reach. When she was done she restarted time and moved away from the wall, closer to the water to avoid falling debris and shrapnel that was flying around her in every direction.

Her memory was off, when she had stopped time she thought she knew the trajectory of everything in her area, apparently she was wrong! After feeling like she had been clobbered with a rubber baton came the sensation of searing pain in her neck and shoulder, she screamed out, "DAMN!" before everything went black. Temera collapsed, getting thrown aside slightly from the impact of the guilty piece of metal, some twisted scrap that was a byproduct of one of the sentinels getting shot at.

Jean Grey

Jean watched as the battle heated up. She tried to relay Iron Man's messages mentally to the others. She noticed that one of the Sentinels that had been on the ground suddenly spouted a ton of smoke and sparks. Then she saw that Temera was on the ground, a large piece of metal near her head. Jean flashed a protective field over her to momentarily protect her. "Iron Man, Temera has been hit. She needs your help."

They continued walking down a corridor, trying to find some indication as to where they were, when Wolverine halted the team. From around a corner came sight they hadn't seen before. It was a big robotic suit of armor. In the helmet, they could see the face of a person through the visor. "This is Mandroid 1138, I have spotted intruders," he said as he aimed his laser rifle at them. The team barely had time to react before he opened fire. As they tried to dodge the blasts, more Mandroids started appearing from the other end of the corridor. Soon, they were surrounded by a team of 10 Mandroids. "I hope you guys are in for a fight," Wolverine said to the team as he unsheathed his claws. He ran at one of the Mandroids, barely dodging the fire, and hit him with a flying kick. The Mandroid barely moved from the impact. These suckers are tougher than I thought, he said to himself.

Thing

The Thing followed Bobby in through the doors. As it shut, he started hitting the side of his head with his palm. "Stupid, stupid, stupid. You'd think my head was full of rocks. C'mon Bobby, I've got an idea."

Ben raced upstairs then headed for where one of the gun turrets was still firing. Bobby followed, unsure of what the Thing was up to.

The Thing reached the laser turret and told them to stop firing, he had an idea. "They've got forcefields, see. But they are still launching missles at you. That means they have to let down their fields. OK? And, being robots, they are firing at a set interval. All we have to do is to time the interval and fire at the missle port, just as they are launching it, see?" Ben quickly did all the figuring in his head. "Now, aim at the missle port and I'll tell you when to fire."

"Steady... five... four... three... two... one... FIRE!" The laser cannon fired and the Sentinel imploded with an ear-shattering boom!

"Quick, aim at another one before they figure out our tactics", Ben ordered. Ben did the calculations in his head, they seemed to be using the same interval. "Five... four... three... two... one... FIRE!" Ben watched as the Sentinel...

Gambit

::He had been looking over his shoulder at those in the back of the line when he had heard the Mandroid speak. He turned and just as he faced forwards he saw the energy beam heading toward them.

quickly he ducked and rolled toward the wall yelling 'Watch out' to those behind him. Hitting the button on his staff he extended it to its full length and lept into combat never one to back down.

Gambit used his pole to help vult him over blast after blast and he countered each blast of fire with a charged card, each card exploding when it struck its target.::

Stick and move. Stick and move. Sounds like im boxing....

Sentinel

Sentinel 6221 went down in a heap of electronics and computer chips. The laser had successfully passed through its force field and blasted its main power cell. The impact had caused an explosion inside the chest cavity of the robot. Its inoperable metal body fell out of the air and settled head first into the water a mile away from the island. All that could be seen was the bottom of its boot jets sticking out of the water.

Sentinel 6220 was taking stock of the battle so far. Sentinel 6222 had been knocked from the air and then somehow had been deactivated when it was on the ground. 6220 could get no signal from it at all. Sentinel 6221 had just exploded when its power cell was pierced by a laser blast. Sentinel 6223 and 6224 were still operational and were launching attacks on the castle that was their target. Sentinel 6225 had just regained sensory input and was flying back up from the ocean floor.

Sentinel 6220 was coordinating an attack when a laser blast found a hole through his force field. Luckily, it had been turned in orientation and was not hit in the power cell. Instead, the blast took off its right arm cleanly. The Sentinel turned down its force field for a second, launching a barrage of 5 missiles from its one good arm as it swooped down towards the ground to grab the severed limb.

Colossus

Peter turned around , determined to shield his sister and Magma from the laser blasts of these armored suits. Peter watched helplessly as the two girls leaped by him into battle. He ran after them as fast as his armored body would allow. He arrived in time to see the two girls wreaking some havoc. He grabbed the nearest Mandroid by the arms and held it over his head. Using his immense strength, he hurled it down the cooridor. The armored man smashed into the wall, the wall buckling under the pressure. Only the legs of the armored suit were still in this same corridor.

Magma and Magik

The two girls ran by Colossus on the way to the fight. They were sick of not having much to do so they wanted to get in the first shot, at least at this end of the corridor. Magma quickly changed to her red/orange flame form and sent a magma blast towards the two men in the front of the group. The magma landed at their feet, burning a hole in the metal of the floor. The feet of the men fell the three feet down onto the earthen foundation, but were quickly trying to move back up onto an unruined section of the floor. But Magma tweaked her power and the metal rapidly cooled around them, trapping their legs.

The men frantically tried to free themselves, firing blindly at the approaching heroes. Illyana sidestepped one laser blast and deflected another with her sword. "Lets see what is stronger, my soulsword or your armor. " Illyana took a swipe at one of the trapped men. Her razor sharp sword hit the armor and cut off the right arm. With the lasers connection to his suit severed, the man stopped firing. Instead he unleashed a howl of sheer pain. Swinging her sword back again, Illyana silenced the noise.

Wolverine ran at one of the Mandroids and did a flip over his back. Wolverne landed behnd the Mandroid and, as it turned around to fire at him, Wolverine swiped at the gun with his claws, slicing it in half. He then slashed across the mandroids chest, creating a shower of sparks as the suit malfunctioned. Out of the corner of his eye, Wolverine saw another Mandroid taking aim at him. He moved quickly, putting the incapacitated suit in between him and the aimig Mandroid. Wolverine heard the laser shots hitting the Mandroid. He pushed it forward, watching it hit and topple the one that was shooting. Wolverine pounced, slashing at the chest of that one as well. He then looked around to see how the rest of his team was doing.

Gambit

::After knocking down and dismantling the circuts of the Mandroid he was originally fighting, Gambit vaulted behind one last Mandroid and instead of clubbing it with his pole or charging a card, he simply grabbed the mandroid's gun and charged it allowing it to get charged.

He then vaulted in front of the Mandroid, and smirked as the Mandroid raised the gun to fire at Gambit.::

Looks like youre definatly going to get a charge out of that one.

::The man's eyes within the suit grew to the size of saucers and before he could releave himself of the gun it exploded::

Magma and Magik

The Second trapped mandroid, seeing what happened to his teammate, started to fire blindly at the girls. They could hear the panting of his breath over the exterior speakers of the suit. Illyana fell to the ground fast, avoiding the barrage of laser fire. Magma was not so lucky, she took a couple of hits in the torso. Her fiery state took a lot of the force out of the blasts, but she was still hit pretty hard. She went down in a heap, pulling up her legs to try and banish the pain.

Colossus

Peter saw red as he witnessed his sister and Amara hitting the floor. He was convinced that the two girls had been hit. He ran in front of the man, his armor deflecting the laser blasts. A tinge of red anger actually stained the normal silver shade of his armor. Peter reached out and grabbed the Mandroid. The legs of the armor ,still attached to the mans legs stayed in the lava. The rest of the man, what was left of him and the upper part of the armor came up easily in his super powered grip. Colossus hurled the man like a baseball down the corridor. The body smashed a huge hole in the wall, making a portal around 5 square feet. Peter immediately dropped down to make sure the girls were ok.
