Unexpected Love

Kia had just finished washing her hair when she got a call from Nick she picked up the phone saying hi and he explained he was leaving work early then heading over. She smiled and told him great because she had almost finished cooking and shed chill some wine for them. It was almost time foe their trip to Fiji and she was excited to go.

She dried her hair and finished making her Shrimp Fettuccine for them along with salad and fresh dinner rolls. Shed made enough for the two of them and realized shed enjoy having him there with her.

Nick stopped home and packed a small overnight bag. They were leaving for Fiji soon, and he hadn't even thought about packing for the trip. After he finished throwing stuff in the small bag Nick made sure everything was ok in the apartment.

He went out front and hailed a cab. When he got to Kia's place, he knocked on the door. While he waited for Kia to answer the door, Nick looked around to see if there was anyone around that should not be there. He saw nothing out of order and smiled at Kia when she opened the door.

Kia smiled and hugged him as she open the door her hair was still wrapped in the towel and she had already tidied up and prepared the table for them. She gave him a soft kiss and she saw he had looked around while waiting. " Kev changed the locks before he left... " she said to assure them they were safe.

She closed the door behind him smiling " I know im pretty bruised right now I just hope I dont look too hideous" she joked.

"I am not worried Kia. I was just looking around. I like to know who the regulars are since I am going to be here for a couple of days." He returned her soft kiss and placed a hand on her hip. "You look just fine Kia. You took a shot to the nose. It will be black and blue for a day or two. Come here. Let me make it better." He kissed her lightly on the nose.

Kia giggled and winced slightly" Oww its still sore Nick" she pouted and grinned and kissed him. " Your just saying that cause you like me." She teased and walked with him to sit on the couch. She knew he was being sweet and sat on his lap. " So how was work?"

"Yes, I do like you Kia. I like you a lot." Nick sat down on the sofa and wrapped his arms around Kia when she sat in his lap. "Work was okay. I just had to finish up some paperwork from a few deals from yesterday, and make some phone calls to make sure things are set-up before we leave for Fiji. How was your day Kia?"

Kia smiled " It was fine I guess. I finished up a few conferences via Skype coming up with a lie that I haf an accident to explain my nose. I got a deal with Macys to sell my products which is a huge deal and ive wrapped up most of the things I needed to do before our flight on Sunday" she said " Oh and I cooked so I hope your hungry" she smiled wrapping her arms around his neck looking at him.

"Just okay. That is a great day. You did all of that and your morning was tied up with the other stuff. That is an awesome day, Kia." Nick's hands were on Kia's hips and he pulled her a little closer to him. "I am starving. I worked through lunch so that I could get out at a decent hour."

Kia smiled and kissed him " Well good thing I made extra than huh baby?" She said. She enjoyed Nick holding her like this and felt him pull her closer and grinned.

"I am happy to be here for dinner Kia. Being here let's me know that you are okay and that way I do not have to worry about you. I would hate to think that my efforts in the park would be in vain because of your asshole ex." He returned her kiss as he held her hips firmly in his hands.

Kia giggled and said"I doubt you would let anything happen Nick and your efforts are always appreciated by me" she said and smiled.

Nick kissed Kia on the cheek. "Well, I think we should eat the delicious dinner you prepared. We would not want it to get cold after you slaved over it all day long. Would we?" He slid his hands up and down Kia's sides slowly and kissed her softly.

Kia grinned and nodded " I suppose we should Nick" she said kissing him then slowly and reluctantly climbed off of his lap. She took his hand and lead him to nice dinner she set up and lit a few candles for them turning off the light.

She sat across from him then smirked to herself having an idea in mind.

Nick followed Kia to the table. He watched as she lit some candles. "This looks incredible Kia. You really shouldn't have gone to all of this trouble for me. I would have been happy to pick up some takeout." He sat down at the table and looked across at Kia. He saw her smirk.

Kia smiled "Hey I want to keep you happy. Can't have you running off so quickly and we just met" she giggled. " I enjoy cooking and if its for you all the better ill do it anytime trust me it's no hassle and you can come over for dinner whenever it probably tastes better when I share" she smiled

"Kia, I enjoy your company. The only thing that will have me running off is,if you tell me you don't want me around anymore. You might feel that way by the time we get back from Fiji. Speaking of which, when we get there, don't think you have to just hang with me. If you want to go off and do something without me, just say so." He took,a couple bites of food while maintaining eye contact with Kia. "Zworykin, this is delicious."

Kia smiled and took a bite of her food .Noone has ever been this good to her outside of family. Not even James. She looked at him and blushed " And why do you think I would feel like that Nick? I enjoy being around you in fact... I find myself thinking about you quite a bit during the day" she said blushing more" I like you alot Nick"

"There was no hidden message there Kia. I just don't want you to feel obligated to be with me all of he time if you don't want to be. Nothing more, nothing less. Just letting you know that. If we spend all of our time in Fiji together, I will be very happy, because I spend a lot of time thinking of you."

Kia smiled and nodded. The same goes for you Nick. If you want to spend time doing something different go ahead ok? Don't feel bound to spend all your time with ,me if you dont want to.

He laughed at Kia. "Yea, I don't want to spend time with you. I am going to be practically living here until we leave and then we will be staying in the same suite for two weeks. If I don't want to be with you I sure have a funny way of showing it."

Kia laughed with him and rolled her eyes. " Ok mr Sarcastic I get it" She smirked and ran her hand across his. " So... Remember our phine conversation he other night?" She blushed and grinned.

He looked down at her hand on his. He smiled at her. "Phone conversation? What phone conversation did we have? I am not sure I remember talking to you on the phone." He smiled at her...letting her know he was joking. "Of course I do, Mia. How could I forget it?"

Kia grinned at the name he called her over the phone and said "Mmm I was wondering after dinner if youd like to.... explore my gallery?" She said and grinned more.

He ran their conversation from a couple of nights ago through his mind. The thoughts aroused him. "Well, it would only seem appropriate that after such a fine dining experience that I took a tour of the gallery to check on the fine work of art."

Kia grinned " Mmm well like I said the gallery is only open to vip clients and you sir fortunately make the list. I have a private viewing scheduled but id also like to view the sculpture as well" she smirked
