Unexpected Love

Kia grinned letting hi shlwer for work she knew if she joined things would get heated. She slipped on a robe over her lingerie and headed to her small office down the hall setting things up for her phone and video conferences and getting paperwork together.

Nick finished showering, got dressed, and went in and kissed Kia before heading to the office. He was very happy that his work went smoothly. He was out of the office and back at his place before noon. Nick packed a suitcase and locked everything up. He took the bag downstairs and got a cab. As he got close to Kia's place, he called her to let her know he would be there in a couple minutes.

Kia smiled when he said he was on his way back. She had just showered and slid on a pair of shorts and a tshirt after her morning of meetings and landed her contracts. She smiled cleaning the place a bit and turning on movie watching until he got there she sat in the living room waiting.

Nick got out of the cab in front of Kia's place and walked to the back of the cab. The cabbie came back and opened the trunk so that Nick could get his suitcase and carry-on bag out. Nick paid the guy, gave him a tip and headed toward Kia's door. He knocked, and, as he waited for Kia to answer, he looked around to see if her ex was in the area. He didn't see him. Nick was starting to think they would make it to Fiji without further incident.

Kia heard the knock at her door and knew it was Nick because it was calm. She smiled seeing him and gave a small kiss " Hi Nick" she said moving aside do he could bring his luggage in from outside.

Nick dragged his bags inside and gave Kia a kiss. "Where would you like me to leave these so that they are out of the way?" Nick put the bags in the closet that she directed. "I am really excited for our trip. I can't wait until we leave."

Kia grinned and said " neither can I Nick. My bathing suits came earlier today and I repacked my bags. Can you believe well be on the beautiful fiji beach in 3 days? Its going to be so amazing"

"Oh, you packed them already. So you aren't going to model them for me? I guess it will be a nice surprise when we go out to the beach in Fiji then. I really can't wait. Ever since you mentioned going with you I have been excited to get there. We are going to have a great time."

Kia smiled and nodded " Were going to have an amazing time Nick and yes youll definitely be getting a few surprises while were in Fiji Nick" she giggled. " its going to be so fun. Any ideas in mind once we get there?"

"I don't have anything in mind. I just want to enjoy ourselves and see what happens. I don't have anything I have to do, so, like I said before, whatever you want to do is fine with me." Nick smiled at Kia. He was certain it would be an awesome trip.

Kia smiled and said " Well the hotel has a few things planned for us since they think were on honeymoon . I changed our names though on the room. I tried changing the rooms but I couldn't but the room is huge"

"Well, we will make the best of all of the arrangements. No matter what, we will have a great time." Nick smiled at Kia and kissed her. "Listen, instead of cooking tonight, I think we should just order takeout. So, what are you up for.....my treat."

Kia smiled wrapping her arms around him and kissing him back " Mmmm how does Italian sound? Ive been craving some lasagna for a bit" she said and smiled.

Nick held Kia in his arms. He was getting more and more comfortable around her. "Then, lasagna it is. Where is the best place to get Italian takeout around here? We can order it and have it delivered, because you are not dressed appropriately for us to walk to get it." Nick laughed and kissed her.

Kia laughed and pouted " What's wrong with what im wearing?" She joked and kissed him. '" Hasleys has the best lasagna around here Nick" she said " How about this? I go get dressed and we eat dinner there... Itll be fun then we can hang out by the river."

"I was not criticizing the way you are dressed. If you want to get dressed and eat there, I am fine with it. You are right, it will be nice down by the river." Nick waited while Kia went to her room and changed.

Kia kissed him and smiled heading toward the bedroom and getting dressed in a simple dress and sandals and moving back into the living room " Ok Nick lets go" she smiled

"Ok. Let's do it." He took her hand and led her out the door. He waited to make sure that Kia licked the door and then they headed down the street. It was a beautiful evening. "Do you mind if we walk, or would you rather get a cab?"

"I'd like to walk" Kia said smiling and held his hand as they walked. The night was beautiful and crisp and she couldn't be happier at the moment.

They walked slowly to the restaurant. They talked about the trip to Fiji. Kia talked about everything that she packed. Nick talked about how he just grabbed a few things and threw them in his suitcase. When they got to the restaurant, they were seated right away. They enjoyed a delicious meal, and then decided to walk along the river for a bit.

Kia smiled walking along the river liking the breeze blowing and the relaxing sound of the water. She held Nicks hand and said " Let's sit here for a bit"

"Whatever you want to do Kia." Nick sat down next to Kia. It was a great sight on a beautiful night. He held Kia's hand as they sat there. She was so easy to be with. He enjoyed his time with Kia...even if it was just walking or sitting.

Kia smiled and kissed him softly as she sat down smiled looking out at the moonlight on the river.

Nick looked at Kia. He wondered if there was a problem, because Kia all of a sudden got very quiet. "Is everything okay Kia? You seem distracted all of a sudden." Nick wasn't sure if he had said something wrong. He thought back over the conversation and couldn't figure out what he might have done wrong.
