Unforgettable (closed for BlondeAmbition4RP)

Jane had tensed at the sudden sound of someone entering into her room while her back was turned, her grip tightening around the pencil in response, but then she'd recognized the voice as Sebastian's and relaxed again as she turned her head towards him and he held out a battered looking leather purse.

”Here you go. I thought it might quicker this way, instead of you waiting for one of the nurses.”

Her eyes lit up with the realization that this must be her purse that he was holding out to her.

"That's what you left for? Oh my god Sebastian, thank you so much!" she replied with a smile as she set the pad of paper and pencil back down by the window and hurried over to him to take the bag.

"They just gave it to you? Just like that?" she asked in confusion as she took it from him and moved over to the bed, not wasting any time in spilling out its contents to examine them.

Not that she was upset. She just couldn't help but think it a little strange that a hospital would release a patient's personal items to someone that wasn't hospital staff, even if that person was supposedly a friend of hers as far as the hospital knew.

He stepped forward as she turned and got up from her seat, his eyes taking a quick glance towards the window to see what she was writing before smiling back at her and handing her the purse. He was slightly surprised that they had not attempted to show her the contents until now. She had just been sitting in her room doing absolutely nothing. It would have driven him insane.

“I did. And you’re welcome. Sorry if I kept you in suspense.”

She had no clue of the influence he and his family had, not only at the hospital, but pretty much all over town. He watched her empty the bag without wasting any time, various items dropping onto the bed. He walked over to the counter and poured himself some coffee from the pot.

”Yep. They just gave it to me. Just like that. Would you rather they hadn’t?”

Sebastian took a sip from the mug and smiled at Jane, recognizing the confusion on her face. He didn’t attempt to clear it though. His attention turned towards the open window while she peered at the contents.

“Does anything look familiar?”

He then looked down at the paper near the window that Jane had in her hand a minute ago and was stunned, grabbing the piece of art and turning to look at her.

”Jane? This is beautiful! Did you just sketch this?”

”Yep. They just gave it to me. Just like that. Would you rather they hadn’t?”

Jane watched Sebastian as he spoke the words, examining his body language and eyes carefully.

"No, it's not that..." she began, but then dropped it as she turned her attention back to the beg and began to examine the contents of the bag again.

She wasn't sure how she knew exactly, but she got the distinct impression that he was keeping something from her, not telling her the whole story; but then again he'd already admitted that they were practically strangers. It wasn't her place to pry, and she was grateful that he had gotten the bag for her regardless of why exactly the staff had trusted him with it.

“Does anything look familiar?”

"No.." she breathed with a sigh of disappointment.

She didn't recognize any of it, and there wasn't much. Had some things fallen out and gotten lost in the crash? Surely there should be more than this.

She spotted the sunglasses and the bag of chocolates that he'd mentioned. There was also a mirror compact, a tube of lipstick, and an EpiPen. There was a billfold as well that she scooped up quickly to look inside. She found some cash but no ID, no receipts, no identifying information of any kind.

”Jane? This is beautiful! Did you just sketch this?”

Dropping the billfold back onto the bed in disappointment and frustration she turned and looked at him.

"What?.. Oh the drawing. Yeah, I drew it while I was waiting on you to get back," she replied with a shrug and a bit of an embarrassed smile, "It's strange, my mind can't remember who I am, but my hands have a mind of their own I guess. They remember what to do just fine."

Sebastian had noticed the contents that were spread out on the bed. No identification cards. No credit cards. Nothing. But she had cash. And it wasn't exactly loose change. Who carried around so much cash in this day and age? He had dismissed the thoughts. It probably wasn't the best time to ask her that, considering she didn't remember a damn thing, even after examining all the items in her purse.

"I'm sorry, Jane. I was hoping it might help bring back a memory."

If only it was that easy.

He had noticed the epipen from her purse as well, but did not comment on it either. He admired her art work for a few moments before turning to smile at her and placed the paper back down near the window.

"Well, don't let me keep you from finishing your sketch. I'll leave you alone now. And don't worry. It will all come back. Have faith. I need to go take care of something else right now. I will see you soon."

Sebastian wondered about the epipen and the missing IDs from her purse as he walked down the hospital corridor. Had some of the contents fallen out? Stolen? But why would anyone steal ID cards and leave all the cash behind. No. It had to be something else. Maybe she preferred using cash. And had just purchased the billfold. He stopped thinking about the possibilities and pulled out his cell phone to dial a number that he had began hating so much. Sometimes he wished it would just keep ringing forever so he didn't have to hear her voice. But then, he would have to call her lawyer, which wasn't exactly a pleasant experience either. When the call went to voicemail, Sebastian turned it off and got into his car, his thoughts circling back to Jane immediately.

Jane quickly thanked Sebastian again for retrieving her purse and said a short goodbye as he left, admittedly sorry to see him go. Even with the knowledge now that they had not actually been friends in her past, he seemed like a kind person and she found that she enjoyed his company. She hoped that he would indeed come see her again soon as he'd said he would.

She turned her attention back to the contents of her bag scattered atop her hospital bed and frowned slightly. Like Sebastian she could not help but note the lack of ID and the abundance of cash and think it strange. There weren't many reasons that she could think of this day and age for a person to be walking around with no ID and so much cash, and the ones that came to mind she didn't really care for. Was she some kind of criminal? She eyed the quality of the sunglasses and compact, the leather of the bag. A call girl?

Picking up the golden compact she turned it over in her hand, looking it over for some kind of clue, an engraving perhaps, but found none. Opening it she just found the mirror inside, her own reflection staring back at her. With a sigh she set it back down upon the bed, absentmindedly picking up the tube of lipstick next. Rolling it over in her hand as she stared at the other items on the bed, her thumb ran over a small indention on the bottom of the tube and instinctively pressed inward. There was a small click sound, drawing her attention and making her look downward in surprise as she noticed a small red light.

A laser pointer in a tube of lipstick?

Hearing a knock at the door she quickly clicked off the red light again, and whirled around.

"Yes?!" she called out, trying to keep her tone calm despite the alarm she could feel welling up inside.

"Ready for your lunch, Jane?" the nurse called.

"Oh! Yes, sorry, just one moment," she called back, quickly picking up the items from her bed and shoving them back inside the bag before turning back towards the door again, "Come on in."

Sebastian stared at the food on his plate as he thought about Jane and the events of the past few days. Walter Blake noticed that something was bothering his son as they ate dinner together at his favorite restaurant after a long time. Either that or the boy was thinking about someone special. A girl? Could it be the same girl he had gotten flowers for the other day? He resisted the urge to ask him about her. He just hoped it was not the other woman who had come into his life and made both their lives miserable in the past few weeks.

"How's the lobster, Seb? You have been very quiet this evening. Is something wrong? If it is about that woman you married, then just forget about it. I told you I will take care of everything like you asked me to."

Sebastian looked up at his father and flashed a weak smile. He wasn't sure if he should tell him everything he knew so far and how much he had been thinking about the girl with the blonde hair, blue eyes, and the warmest smile who he hadn't been able to get out of his head ever since they met in the cab.

"No, Dad. Everything's fine. She's the last thing on my mind right now. I was just thinking about the accident and how thankful I am to survive. And that I can remember..."

Sebastian didn't complete the sentence. He wasn't thinking about the accident, even though he was thankful he was alive, and could remember everything. He was thinking about Jane. He wanted to see her again, even though it had only been a few hours since they had last spoken. He just smiled at Walter, took a sip from the wine glass, and tried to change the subject.

"How's the steak? I thought you were trying to avoid eating red meat."

And now he was thinking about his father's health as well, although he had commented only to tease him about his often unhealthy eating habits. His old man's health had deteriorated considerably in the past few years, although he argued that he was healthy as a horse. He was still the face of the company he had founded years ago. His friends and enemies, both noticed even if he sneezed.

Father and son parted ways after dinner. Sebastian went back to his penthouse on the top floor of the building that he called home with only one thought on his mind. How long should he wait before going back to the hospital. He wanted to know everything about Jane. About the contents of her purse. About how she could sketch so incredibly well and not remember anything else. What did she do for a living? When was her birthday? Everything. The trouble was, there was nobody who could tell him anything about this mysterious woman. Including the woman herself.

Jane had forced herself to remain calm as she'd gone and opened the door for the nurse, putting a smile on her face for the woman as she carried in Jane's lunch tray despite the anxiousness she felt inside for the woman to leave so that she could continue her examination of the lipstick tube. There was no way it was just a laser pointer she realized. Why on earth would anyone put a laser pointer in the bottom of an otherwise completely normal tube of lipstick. She made a bit of small talk with the nurse as usual so that nothing would seem amiss, and then quickly turned back towards the bag as soon as she was gone, completely disregarding the food that had been brought in.

Jerking open the bag and digging through its contents, she quickly found the tube of lipstick again. Examining it a bit further she found that her initial observation had been correct. Looks wise it was no different than any other tube of lipstick, when she opened it she even found that it had actual usable makeup inside: a nice shade of red lipstick that she actually liked and looked like it would be flattering with her skin tone. So what was with the light?

Clicking it on again she pointed it at the wall.

"Holy shit..." she breathed beneath her breath.

There, scrolling across the wall in red glowing letters... was an address.

It had been less than seventy two hours since he had last seen Jane. He had tried to engross himself in work for the past couple of days but his mind kept going back to the lady in the hospital who had lost her memory. He wanted to see her again. Sebastian called his secretary into the office that morning and much to her astonishment, requested her to get some supplies for him that seemed really out of the ordinary, along with some books and fresh flowers. He sat at his desk for the next thirty minutes doing nothing but thinking of Jane before he had to rush to a board meeting.

When the meeting was over, he had his chauffeur drive him to the hospital. He was walking through the corridor, still several feet away from where Jane's room would be when he saw a suspicious looking man in a dark suit and a hat with one hand on the door knob. It seemed as if he was exiting the room and closing the door. Could it be the one where Jane was? The man glanced around, not noticing Sebastian who was carrying a big box in his hands, and turned and walked away in the other direction. By the time Sebastian was outside Jane's room, he wasn't sure if the man had been standing in front of the same door or an adjacent one. He almost vanished into thin air. He could always find out by asking Jane if someone had visited her. Maybe someone who knew her? That would be wonderful, wouldn't it? He just hoped it was not a husband or a boyfriend. Or...

Sebastian shook all the thoughts out of his mind. He knocked on the door three times and waited patiently for her to open it. Whatever, or whoever that was, if he had indeed visited her, Sebastian would soon find out.

The lights in her room off, and her body stretched out beneath the sheet of her hospital bed, Jane stirred at the knock on her door. She stretched and immediately looked at the digital clock on the wall near her bed, surprised by how much time had passed since she'd laid down.

She wasn't usually a napper, or at least she thought she wasn't, at least she hadn't been since she'd awoken after the accident; but ever since she'd made the strange discovery about the tube of lipstick in her bag she'd been restless, having trouble sleeping at night as she racked her brain wondering what it might mean. Finally, she'd just crashed, turning off the lights and laying down for a nap.

Moving over to the door she opened it, a little surprised but definitely not disappointed when she saw that it was Sebastian who had come to see her and not one of the nurses or doctors as she'd initially assumed.

"Oh hi Sebastian," she said offering him a smile, her eyes still a little groggy from napping too long as she looked up at him.

Suddenly self-conscious of her appearance as she looked upon him in his nicely pressed suit, she gave her sleep wrinkled robe a little tug and ran her fingers through her mussed hair.

"It's good to see you. Please, come on in," she told him as she opened the door wider for him and flipped on the light.

It was dark inside the room when Jane's bright face appeared between the edge of the door and the column.

"Oh no. I'm sorry. Did I wake you up?" He smiled apologetically when she requested him to enter, trying to smooth the fabric. Even with the slightly tangled hair, she looked as beautiful as ever, her eyes trying to awaken from sleep.

Sebastian stepped inside and walked straight towards the table when she turned on the light. He placed the box down, turned around and handed her the bouquet of flowers.

"Now that I have disturbed your sleep," he said grinning at her, then opening the box and pulling out a few books "Here are a few books. And I have some other stuff in here that I thought you might like." He grabbed the art supplies he had ordered including some paints, brushes, sketch pens, pencils and lots of paper along with canvases in case she liked to paint, and set it all out on the table. "You can take a look yourself and see what you like. Or not. I just got whatever I could. If you need anything else, let me know. I am a dummy when it comes to art. But hopefully this should help you pass the time."

Sebastian was wondering if he should ask her about the gentleman that he saw in the hallway earlier. She was obviously sleeping, so it couldn't have been her room that he was exiting. He hesitated for a moment and just watched her expressions as she looked at all the things he had brought with him.

Still slightly groggy from her nap, Jane had blinked down at the bouquet of flowers with surprise as Sebastian had handed them to her. More flowers? She still had the ones that he had brought her when he'd come to see her just a couple days before. She'd put them in a vase and placed them on the stand right next to her bed.

"They're beautiful, thank you Sebastian," she commented with a smile to him, wondering about the box that he'd also brought with him, "You shouldn't have."

For a moment she wondered as well if she should tell him about the strange light and hidden message she had discovered in the bottom of the lipstick within her purse after he'd left that day. So far she hadn't told anyone about it, not certain what exactly it might mean and who she could trust with it.

Her thoughts soon became distracted though when he gave her that grin and began pulling out all sorts of books and art supplies from within the box, all of which he explained he'd brought as a gift to her to help her pass her time at the hospital. She looked at him with surprise as she moved over to the table, setting down the flowers and running her fingers over the books and art supplies with an excited smile.

"Oh my gosh Sebastian... you really shouldn't have," she commented in amazement.

She looked up at him with another smile, her eyes meeting his. She couldn't believe how thoughtful he was, doing all of this for her.

"You're welcome." Sebastian replied as she thanked him for the flowers. It seemed as if she wanted to say something more when he started pulling out the rest of the gifts. He figured she would tell him if there was something on her mind and if it was important enough. After all, who else could she tell it to? Maybe the guy he had seen outside the door? He couldn't have visited her though. Unless...! A scary thought crossed Sebastian's mind before his thoughts turned back to the pretty woman standing in front of him.

Sebastian was pleased to notice the excitement on her face as her eyes smiled at the stuff he had brought for her. Their eyes met and locked as she looked up at him. He reached his arm out to gently touch her shoulder with his hand.

"You're welcome, once again. It was no trouble at all. I had my secretary deliver them this morning. It wasn't like I went to the store and spent hours picking out the items. "He admitted jokingly." I wouldn't know what to pick when it comes to art! Except for the books. I selected them myself."

His mind wandered back to the possibility that the man he had seen in the corridor could have been there to maybe harm Jane in some way. And that he might have been trying to break into her room while she was sleeping? But why? Maybe it was a result of reading too many suspense novels, Sebastian thought. He didn't know anything about her past though. Anything was possible. He could be her husband. Or boyfriend. Maybe that's what she wanted to tell him when he distracted her with all the gifts. He decided to test his theory, one step at a time. He walked towards the table and poured himself a glass of water.

"So, seems like you had another visitor today." He smiled, took a sip from the glass and watched her face. "Was he a friend? Did you remember anything? Is it all coming back slowly?"

Sebastian might have been quick to dismiss his gift as 'no trouble at all', but Jane did not. Whether he had hand picked out the items himself or not, she was still touched that he'd thought to get them for her at all. Not to mention the money that it must have cost, though she was beginning to catch on by now that money never seemed a concern for Sebastian.

Her interest was caught when he mentioned that he'd selected the books himself for her, wondering which ones he'd chosen. Leaving the art supplies for the time being, she looked over the books and began to pick them up one by one, starting to read the back cover of one as he poured himself a glass of water. At his mention of another visitor coming to see her that day however she stopped, looking at him in confusion.

"He?... He who?" she replied, wondering why he would think someone else had come, "You're the only visitor I've had since the accident, Sebastian."

He watched as she began to go over the books one at a time. Jane's reply brought relief to Sebastian's face. So it was likely that she didn't have a husband, or a boyfriend. Well, that thought made him comfortable anyway. He was however slightly uncomfortable with the thought of the person he had seen outside the door a few minutes ago. If he was the only visitor she had had since the accident, who was that guy? And what had he been doing in her room? He thought he should tell her. There was no point in hiding it. He placed the glass down and looked directly into her beautiful eyes.

"Jane, just a few minutes ago, as I was walking through the hallway towards your room , I saw somebody outside that door." He said, pointing to the door behind her. "I mean, I thought it was your room. He might have been visiting your neighbor. He was wearing a dark suit and a hat. I couldn't even see his face. He was very quick and vanished instantly right before my eyes as I approached your room. I thought he might be a friend or relative of yours."

Sebastian paused, watching her face closely. He didn't want to scare her unnecessarily. She was going through enough already.

"I'm sorry, Jane. I wish I could help you remember..."

He cut himself off mid sentence and smiled, a hint of concern still in the back of his mind.

"You know what, I may be wrong. He must have been visiting the adjacent room, like I said earlier."

The concern he had was now two-fold. He was not sure how Jane would regain her memory when nobody had bothered to visit her for weeks now, and nobody had any idea who she was and where she came from. To add to that, there might be somebody, a guy, who was trying to get close to her, but obviously didn't want her or anyone else to know about it. If that was true, it scared him more than anything else. He tried to dismiss it from his thoughts once again, attributing it to his wild imagination. It was probably nothing.

Jane could feel the hairs on the back of her neck rise when Sebastian explained that the reason he'd though she'd had a visitor was because he'd seen a man in a dark suit and hat outside her door, how the man had vanished as Sebastian had approached. Had the man been inside the room with her while she was sleeping?!

Her eyes began to search around, looking to see if anything seemed out of place.

"You know what, I may be wrong. He must have been visiting the adjacent room, like I said earlier."

"Right, yeah, I'm sure that's it..." she agreed, but then her eyes focused in on her purse.

Hadn't she zipped it up before? It now looked as if it was unzipped. Remembering the lipstick case with the hidden address inside, she immediately hurried over to check and see if the case was still there, not stopping to think that Sebastian was still watching her and might think it odd.

He had caused her to panic. It was evident from the way her eyes darted around the room. Damn it! Why did he have to mention the guy. She was not in a state to be anxious about strangers visiting her, especially when she was sleeping. And right now, everyone in this world was a stranger for her. Scary!

“Jane, are you alright? I’m...” Sebastian started talking as her eyes settled on the purse he had retrieved for her the other day. “I didn’t mean to cause you more headaches.” He looked at her quizzically as she frantically searched the contents. She was obviously looking for something. But why? Why now suddenly? She was definitely suspicious and worried about something. Did she think the guy might have stolen something from her purse? “Jane, are you okay?” Sebastian asked again. There was nothing valuable in that purse. What could he possibly want from it? “What are you looking for?” He walked towards her, glancing around the room before standing by her side.

Upon reaching her purse Jane could see that it was definitely unzipped now when she distinctly remembered that she'd left it zipped up before. In her mind's eye she could see it just as she'd left it last, zipped and resting in a chair over by the window. Her mind focused and ignoring Sebastian's comments she quickly reached into the bag and began to frantically search its contents, looking for the strange tube of lipstick she'd discovered the other day.

Had the man Sebastian had seen known that she had it? Is that why he'd come? Did he know what the address was for? She could see that the billfold full of cash was still there. Why else would he have been looking in her purse?

Suddenly she felt her hand wrap around the tube of lipstick and she breathed a sigh of relief, that is until she sensed Sebastian standing beside her making her realize how incredibly strange her actions must have seemed.

"I uh.. sorry, it's just.." she began, struggling with what she should say, if she could trust him enough to say anything at all about the address she had found before.

The tube of lipstick remained gripped tightly in her hand.

"I know I'd left it zipped up before."

Sebastian stood quietly next to her. He sensed as if she wanted to tell him something but wasn’t sure what to say. He could understand the state she was in. No one could blame her.

“No need to be sorry. I’m the one who should be apologizing. I had no right to scare you and set alarms in your head like that.”

If she remembered zipping up her purse, Sebastian had no reason to believe she was lying. Even though she had retrograde amnesia, only her past memories had been impacted. Her memories after the accident were perfect as far as he could tell. The doctors believed that as well. He considered the entire situation for a few minutes, walking over to and looking out the window. Finally, he turned to face her.

“Jane, I don’t mean to cause more panic. But would it be okay with you if I put...” Sebastian paused for a moment and then continued. “...if there’s a security guard outside your door?” He watched her carefully as he spoke. “Just to make sure something like this doesn’t happen. If it did indeed happen. At least it will provide you with peace of mind that someone can’t enter your room without permission and unzip your purse.”

Something was definitely out of place. He wanted to find out what it was. The purse, the cash, no identifying documents, no family or friends, the suspicious visitor. He wondered if he ever would know what was really going on until Jane could remember everything, but he didn’t want to risk leaving her unguarded, especially when he had the power and resources to do it. He smiled and walked over to her, placing his hand over her arm gently.

”There’s no pressure. You can think about it and let me know tomorrow. I’ll make arrangements to secure this room. Okay?”

He withdrew his hand and pulled out the phone from his pocket.

“Now, let’s forget about all that. I don’t know about you, but I’m starving. What would you like to eat? I’ll order something for both of us. I’m sure you must be bored with the hospital food by now.”

"Yeah, that'd be nice, thank you Sebastian," Jane agreed in response to his suggestion of ordering some food for the two of them, "Just order whatever sound good to you."

She wasn't sure what she would like, and honestly she'd probably love anything other than hospital food at this point.

Despite his encouragement to forget about the man he'd seen in the hall for now, she just couldn't. She was certain that he'd been in her room while she was sleeping, but why he hadn't woken her and why he'd been looking in her purse but not taken anything she still had no idea. Had he been looking for the hidden address? What was the address for exactly? What exactly had she been involved in before she'd lost her memory?

She had so many questions and right now the only lead to answering any of them was grasped in her palm. She needed to look up this address. Her eyes went to the cellphone grasped in Sebastians' hand. Should she ask him to look it up for her? Could she trust him?

He was not going to press her any further about placing security guards outside her room. She was probably just as hungry as he was. Either that or was surely wanting to taste something other than the food she was being served daily.

Sebastian smiled at her and started tapping on the tiny screen in his hand. As he was scrolling down the menu, a thought occurred to him. "Are you allergic to anything?" He paused and looked up at her. "I mean, do you remember if there's any kind of food you are allergic to?" She was staring at the phone in his hand. He quickly noticed that her hand was still clenched into a fist as she stood there thinking about something. "Jane?" He was not sure if she would have any memory of it. He had not inquired what information related to food allergies she had provided the hospital, if any. He still had to ask just in case she recalled any sort of details. It could even trigger something else and make her remember other events or past history. Sebastian was too optimistic sometimes.

He couldn't help but wonder what she had on her mind. It seemed as if she wanted to ask him a question. She also looked a tiny bit scared, or anxious. And what was she holding, rather hiding in her palm? Or was it just an empty clenched fist?

"Jane?"

Looking up from his phone and noticing him watching her and looking down at her hand, the hand holding the lipstick case with the hidden address that she wasn't certain if she wanted to show him or not, Jane at once instinctively shifted into a more casual stance, placing her hands behind her back as if she was giving her back a little stretch, the movement making her chest stick outwards and upwards a bit and placing her nicely shaped breasts on display as they pressed against the fabric of her hospital gown. At the same time she bit her bottom lip as if in thought, intrinsically knowing that both actions would play into his attractions to her and help to distract him from the item in question.

Whoa! Where had that some from?

She blinked, taking a little step back.

"Uh no, no food allergies," she told him, moving over to her bag again, reaching in and dropping the lipstick case back in as she picked up the EpiPen at almost the same time, hoping he wouldn't notice the quick exchange.

She held it up for him to see.

"I'd let the staff know that I'd found this in my bag and they were concerned about that as well, so they ran an allergy test, at least for the ones that are most common, but so far nothing has come up," she explained giving a little shrug, "Like I said, just order whatever sounds good to you. Worst case scenario I have a reaction, but I have the pen and I'm in the middle of a hospital."

She smirked at him.

"So what's the worse that could happen?"

Sebastian was distracted from his thoughts by the strategic movement of Jane's body. Although he was quite sure from what he remembered of their first meeting in the cab, that hospital gown hadn't done justice to her lovely figure. Until now. When Jane stretched, Sebastian couldn't help but stare at her ample bosom, the gown being the only barrier between them and his eyes. When he realized he might have been gazing at her breasts just for a second or two longer than most would consider appropriate, his eyes moved away from them, only to watch her bottom lip against her teeth. So seductive. He felt something stir inside him. What was happening? He had never lied to himself about the fact that he was somehow attracted to this beauty. Why else had he been coming to see her in the hospital? But was she trying to flirt with him? Surely not. He must have mistaken her gestures for something else. He had completely forgotten what he had been thinking about only a minute or two ago. All he could think of at that moment was how sexy this woman looked in her hospital gown.

He watched in silence, slightly embarrassed as she stepped back, although she didn't seem to mind the staring apparently. Maybe he was just being silly and over thinking it. She probably had more important things on her mind. Like trying to remember who the hell she was! Why else would a woman who had lost her memory try to seduce a man one moment, and appear casual as if nothing had happened the next moment?

Sebastian observed as she pulled out the epipen from her bag and held it up for him to see. He didn't notice the lipstick case hidden in her grasp that had fluently disappeared into the bag while she had expertly confused him. He attempted a weak smile, listening intently, trying to regain his composure as she told him about the allergy test. There was something amiss about what had just happened, but he couldn't put a finger on what it was.

"So what's the worse that could happen?"

He grinned back at her as she smirked. She couldn't have appeared cuter. And she was right. What else could go wrong?

"I guess you're right." He took a few minutes to order the food before turning his attention to Jane once again. Putting his cell phone down on the table, he placed his hand gently on her arm.

"Jane, is it just me or is something bothering you? Is it about the man I saw outside your door? Don't worry about that. I already told you I will make sure no one gets close to your room again. But I feel like you need to say something, but are either afraid or confused. And I completely understand why you might feel that way. I guess what I'm trying to say is, you can talk to me about whatever it is that's on your mind. I'll try to help or answer any of your questions to the best of my ability."

As Sebastian had ordered the food, Jane had gone ahead and returned the EpiPen to her bag before moving back towards him again. She was surprised at how easy it had been to distract him, but felt guilty for what she’d done. She’d seen the look in his eyes as he’d watched her before, his gaze focusing on first her bosom and then her lips as she’d bit them. She’d known the moment her movements had worked, his attraction suddenly so obvious to her. Why would she think to do something like that? She should not have played with his emotions like that just to distract him.

Her eyes moved to look at his phone again as he’d set it down, once more wondering if she should just go ahead and ask him about the address, ask him if he would look it up for her. When he immediately placed his hand upon her arm, for a moment she was worried. Had he caught her looking? Was he going to comment on the way she’d acted before?

Instead she found a look of concern on his face, his following words surprising her and making her feel even more badly about trying to deceive him. Here he was so sincerely just wanting to help her, and she had to be honest, she desperately needed his help right now.

“It’s partially about that, but there’s also…” she hesitated, not sure how to explain, “I need you to look up an address for me.”

Sebastian had been clueless about the sweet distraction Jane had inflicted upon him, but he had noticed her glancing at his phone with a curious look in her eyes, for a second time that day. He had dismissed it at first, since there was no reason to be suspicious about someone looking at your mobile phone. Especially Jane in the condition she was in. When he spoke to her with his hand on her arm, he was concerned. When she hesitated before finally telling him what it was that she wanted, there was a slight surprise on his face.

"An address? Uh...sure. I'd be happy to." Sebastian was confused for a few seconds. This woman had no memory of anything that had happened before the crash. Had she suddenly remembered where she lived? What was going on? Where had she suddenly gotten this address from?

"Did you remember something?" There was excitement and hope on Sebastian's face as he eyed her. But maybe it was not what he was thinking. It could be any address. Maybe she found it in one of the magazines in the hospital room. An art gallery, or perhaps some shop she wanted to visit. Or perhaps, she remembered some address and didn't even know it was her own. She had all the reason to be cautious. Even from him.

Sebastian reached for his phone with one hand while his eyes remained fixated on the pretty woman standing next to him. As he grabbed the mobile, he wondered if that was the reason she was looking at his phone earlier. It made smile him inwardly as he swiped a finger on the screen.

"What's the address? Is it in this city?"

"I think so, but I'm not certain. It's just a street address and unit number, no state or zip code," she explained, "Could you look it up and see if there's an address in the city that matches?..."

She rattled off the address to him exactly as it had appeared to her before, too excited now about the idea of finding out where exactly the address was to dwell on the fact that she didn't have to look at the address again to remember it. It was perfectly preserved within her brain now, like a picture. All she had to do was think back to it and she could see it exactly as it had been when she'd shined the laser up against the wall and read it for the first time.

She intentionally ignored his question about if she'd remembered something, at least for the time being. She had no idea where the address was and what kind of place it might be, especially considering how she had discovered it. Was it an apartment, a business, a meth lab? Why had it been so hidden?
