Universal background checks would require all firearms transactions in the United States to be recorded and go through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

That includes ALL - meaning the gun you give your uncle as a gift and the gun you sell your brother too.

Anyone against? I cannot imagine anyone having a defensible argument against Universal Background Checks.

You do realize that most of the basis for UBC's aren't actually a real thing, right? Nor will they stop the shootings since most mass shooters acquired their guns legally (though some didn't even though the States they got them in require UBC's).

So no, I don't favor UBC's because they don't work, have NEVER worked, and are more of an intrusion into my Constitutional Rights than the Government should be allowed to infringe upon.

No means no. Shall not be infringed still means no.

imo, it should be required that every gun sale should be recorded, a current license in place, fingerprint checks on purchasing, a mental health enquiry with the person's regular physician (and to take a m.h. checkup if it's been longer than - say - 5 years) and a up-to-date record of gun-safety training on a par with a car driving license. if it's a 'first gun' owner, then they should need to pass a safety test on a learner permit. if i were to want to own a gun, i'd be quite happy with all these requisites.

all those nasty little loopholes need closing, and those flouting the sales laws need to have their licenses revoked (both to sell AND to own fire arms).

when a gun changes hands privately, the paperwork needs to be done and checks made... like getting a car tag at the local courthouse. that kind of thing. again, those breaking the law need real punishment, including fines, license revocations and even jail time.

stores like walmart should not be selling firearms nor ammunition.

Why not take it a step further and anyone that voted republican be banned from purchasing a firearm?

That's where they want to take it.

All that crap you listed butters? Is breaking the law.

This is the USA, not the USSSA. The kind of authoritarian garbage you're spouting in the above quote is ILLEGAL, our government is FORBIDDEN from violating the individual rights of its people like that.

I wonder given all though though how much of a problem Butters has with voter ID?

I'm wondering why butters isn't all hot & bothered by the fact that you can go buy flammable liquids in bulk any time, any place, and without a license, permit, or showing ID.

Regular "stores" shouldn't be allowed to sell stuff like that to just anybody.

You just ascribed a position to an entire group based on a meme posted by a Canadian racist.

It's not ascription and the meme is funny because it's accurate.

You yourself supported the idea that the USA is running concentration camps because border security and immigration control are TOTALLY the same thing as Nazism.

Anyone who doesn't support open borders (D) politicians and their call for open borders like luk does? Nazis!!

The poll so far is representing the sanity of the public.

Deplorables can bluster all they'd like but, as we're seeing at this point, they don't even have the guts to vote their honest opinion on this forum poll. :rose:

Check again....

It most certainly is an ascription and you followed it up by ascribing a position to me which I don't hold.

You're either a liar or done not what the words your use mean. Which is it?

Luk just CAN'T be honest ever.....

He was forced into a concentration camp like what's happening now, tubby bitch.

Woooopsie daisy!!

You and I both know there is more, I'm not spending another 20 min linking it all up again though so just keep on pretending it never happened like you pretend not to support open borders/immigration while advocating abolishing ICE and supporting/defending open border leftist pols. :D

I am not a big fan of Walmart, but I don't understand why they shouldn't be allowed to see firearms and ammo. I bought one firearm through them, and they followed all the rules to the letter. And a manager had to double check and confirm everything.

I think there should be a federal registration of felons ( there may be one in existence now ). I think the states should be responsible for their citizens when it comes to issuing a firearm licences. I believe if a person attempts to purchase a weapon across state lines then gun dealers should do a background checks. I think states should legislate what is appropriate for capacity. For me 10 rnd mags are the limit. No one need's a 250 rnd drum, that's insanity.

That quite literally had nothing to do with this conversation. You're a fucking disaster. I really hope you're not home schooling those kids.

What part of "shall not be infringed" don't you understand?

You seem confused.

Perhaps this will help:

No one believes you really stand behind your "for" vote, above.

Why would I lie about THAT?

I've been advocating UBC's and a universal (but shall issue) training/licensing system for a long time.

Clear up a lot of problems and make law enforcement a lot easier I think.

You can try and separate yourself from it all you want Mr.It'sConcentrationCamp!! but you participated in the 'Republicans are NAZIS because they want secure borders and immigration control!" hissyfit that meme is directly referencing....quoted and cited.:kiss::D

How would this system in anyway impair the criminal or the criminally insane?

It doesn't. Social media is the curse. There is no cure for this shit. Being aware of your surroundings in a soft target environment is what we're left with. All our mental health institutions have been rolled up and done away with. Hardening our schools is a step forward ( a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun ). The left's idea that more guns in our schools is a bad idea are on a fools errand.

I'll just leave this here.
