University fun(closed for katalynn)

She couldn't comprehend why such a simple touch would affect her so intensely, but it did. It took all her effort to keep from giving off too many signals. Such as the little gasps of breath as she felt her nipples harden, keeping her gaze on his fingers so he couldn't see the lust burning in them. Even her toes were curling to keep still in the seat.

"Well, tonight is a full moon is it not? Perhaps you.. you will get that chance."

She gave a weak smile with the strongest flush she's had so far. But when he proceeded to pull his hand away, Kaylila frowned slightly. Though didn't stop him either as it would be one of those signals she is trying to prevent.

"No need to apologize. I am just not used to being touched is all. Where I am from.. others are not so kind to those like me. But I do like what you were doing. I-it... felt... good."

She quickly turned her face away from his so he couldn't see the embarrassment of her confession.

Seeing her turn away from him and not reach out made his heart sink in his chest. Fearing the worst he pulled over to the side of the road. He reached out with a shaking hand and drew a finger up under her chin and then turned her head so she was facing him. He looked deeply into her eyes, tears starting to threaten his.

"I am really sorry if I offended you or made you uncomfortable. You are so beautiful and its rare that I get to interact with someone of your race...and I just got caught up in the moment. If its okay I'd still like to take you to dinner, but if not I'd understand. Please, if I did cross a line, I want you to let me know and we'll take the proper steps to remedy it."

((I know she isn't upset but he doesn't and he wants to make sure her reaction isn't uncomfort...he's trying to show her he cares))

Kaylia felt him guiding her face towards him and at first she couldn't meet with his gaze. Also, he gave her little choice and she could divert her eyes for only so long before meeting his. Her heart pounded while listening to what he had to say, almost fearing that she had upset him somehow. Then his words caught up and she realize he feared the same thing! Her heart practically stopped right there, skipping a few beats and she felt an urge like never before. Though, she refrained from giving into that urge, it was too soon for giving into the primal instincts.

"No... no... you did nothing of the kind. I-I... I..."

She didn't know how to explain how she felt, right now she wanted to kiss him and couldn't stop from glancing at his lips every so often. Quickly gathering her senses and knowing he needed a real answer instead of this lusty glazed look she gave him.

"I am just not used to people being nice. Most guys pretend to be nice and I fall into some prank as everyone laughs. You didn't over step, if you did, I would have stopped you."

It was then she gave him a quick and simple kiss, yes it was one of many signals she wanted to avoid, yet it felt like the right thing to do in that moment.

"I am starving, lets go get that dinner you promised me."

Ben is a little surprised by the kiss but doesn't pull back and finds his eyes close automatically as she kisses him. He starts to feel something stir in his lap and he quickly throws an arm in his lap to hide it from her. "Good I'm starving to." I say as I pull back onto the road. "So other than art what do you like to do in your spare time?"

There wasn't any denying that she felt a spark with the kiss. However, she didn't want to trust it or these other feelings that were creeping up. Truth is, she didn't trust very many people and she barely met this one. On the other hand, she can also tell when someone is playing her and he didn't give off that vibe.

His question brought her out of those thoughts and back on him. It did kind of catch off guard since no one has asked her that sincerely like he just did. Half the time when asked, the person asking never really lets her answer before moving on.

"Well... lets see.... Back home I did a lot of hiking and had a few good trails that I loved. Even did a few overnight hiking trips and hid from the world for a while."

Now that she thought about it, she isn't quite sure how she is going to do that around here. Making a mental note to add to her list of things... Find out where the trails are around here!

"I like being outdoors more than indoors... It's easier to hide outdoors..."

She glanced over at him and smiled before turning her attention back to her tail as a distraction.

"Yeah I like being outdoors as well. I enjoy fishing and boating and hiking. There is a beautiful nature trail on campus that leads to a lake that we can fish in...maybe I could take you some time."

He pulls up outside the restaurant as they talk. "Stay here I'll get the door for you" he says as he parks and then jumps out. He opens her door for her and then helps her down from his truck. He then takes her hand in his and leads her to the door.

Kaylia smiled and took his hand, once again felt that surging spark as her fingers entwined with his. For a second she bit her lower lip as the shyness kicked in again. For the first time, her gut twisted and that butterfly feeling crept in out of no where.

"I thought you said you spend all your free time playing around with math mate?"

She teased and followed him inside. The wait wasn't long and soon they were sitting in a booth seat. She did take a moment to look around and admire the place. Though, she never did let go of his hand, even sitting across from him, she held his hand on the table. Whether she was aware of this or not is the question as she watched the other people around them.

"I haven't been fishing before. Not sure I have the patience for sitting around waiting for a fish to bite."

As he slid into the booth he accidently stepped on her tail, quickly lifting his foot once he realized it. "Oh I'm so sorry...do you need me to rub it better for you?" "And I do play with math in my spare time but fishing allows me a time to turn my mind off and just sit and watch nature or a while it helps me decompress when things get to...stressful"

She pretended like the step on her tail didn't bother her. It was an accident after all and she knew it, though it did throb afterwards. Before she could answer him, the menus came and she used that moment of distraction to place her tail on his lap.

When the waiter asked if they wanted anything to drink, Kaylia ordered a long island tea to start with. As the waiter left she let go of his hand to look over the menu.

"That is why I like going for hikes, helps me to do the same thing. Camping works just as well too, especially when I can't sleep."

Sam jumped a little as he felt her tail in his lap, a brief look of surprise crossing his face. He really hoped he hadn't hurt her and he reached down to stroke her tail from tip all the day down as far as he could reach to make sure nothing was broken. His hand shook a little with nevers and a very slight smile crossed his face as he felt her fur run against the skin of his hands. He shifted in his seat as he noticed he was starting to get excited and he didn't want her to find out. 'She's a student under your care...you are not to give into these urges' he says to himself as he drinks in the sensation of her tail against his hand. Once its drawn down as far as it goes he starts to slowly run his hand back up towards the tip smoothing any fur he might have messed up.

Once the waiter came he ordered a rum and coke on ice. As Kaylia let his hand go he pulled the menu closer with his new free hand, the other one still slowly working its way up to the tip of her tail. Once he reached the tip he smiled "There nothing seems broken" he said and brought his hand above the table.

He looked her in the eyes and smiled "So any idea what you are having? I know you said you had a taste for steak but they have other options. I'm not sure what..." he paused a look of concern flashing across his face.

"What do members of your race call themselves...I have heard terms thrown around but, as you mentioned before, they might have been slurs and I don't want to offend."

((probably to much to work with but i hope this is more what you were looking for))

It took some effort to not show the effects his petting did, though she did squirm ever so slightly in her seat. She wasn't quite sure as to why she allowed him to touch her like this, only that it felt good. The best part is, she didn't feel threatened by him like she normally would with other 'boys'.

She smiled when he announced that nothing felt broken and surprising herself by not removing her tail from his lap. Kaylia seemed pretty content to leave it right where it was without much thought to it.

"That's good to hear... It would be a bad thing to have a kink in my tail.. As for what I am.. well.. umm. It is tricky."

Pausing for a moment to take a sip of her drink and thought about how to answer the question. Most others were obvious, either foxes, wolves, cats.. whatever. With her, she did fit in the cat category of things, just uncertain of what type of cat.

"People call us many things, half breeds mostly. The term the researchers used with me though was called Neko. It is clear that I have some kind of cat gene. They just can't figure out what cat. Me in particular... Well.. the researchers say I am extremely rare. They found some ancient race of elves of the far north, yet they couldn't pronounce the name."

She laughed after hearing herself say all that, it must of sounded crazy to him that she didn't know what she is. Looking down at the menu and smiled when seeing all the selections from a simple salad and appetizers up to the really expensive, all out dinners.

"As to what I like to eat. That's easy... it is pretty much anything really. I am not picky. Though, I am not a fan of seafood or strange named things. Oh and not a fan of cheese either.. I like some of it, just not the strong stuff."

She glanced at the dinner salads that had quite a bit to them, more than she would be willing to eat and beamed a smile when one looked good.

"With that said, I think i will get this peppercorn steak salad."

"So if I referred to you as Neko that would be okay?" He asked and then paused for a moment, a look of deep contemplation crossing his face. 'Why don't i just refer to her by her name...what difference does it make what race/species she is...especially if it's unknown, that might be triggering for her.'

Pulling himself out of his head he speaks in a reassuring charming tone "Oh how about just use your name? I think that would be better since everyone is 100% sure of what that is. Whatever lies in your genetic past my dear I assure you they must have been very lovely to have created you." He just now noticed her tail was still in his lap and it made an intimate part of him twitch slightly at the warmth it gave off. He hoped she hadn't noticed or he hadn't offended her by getting aroused around her.

As she made her dinner selection he nodded "You know what that sounds very good I think I'll have the same. Do you want any appetizers or is the salad going to be enough? Oh and everything is my treat...I kind of know the owner so it will be no charge so get whatever you would like."

With their meals decided he reaches back out for her hand and takes it tentatively. "I liked holding your hand if you don't mind holding mine...it isn't every day I get to dine with someone as exotic and alluring as you." Almost as if on cue a strolling violinist came over and started playing softly in the background and it helped cut the din of the other conversations around them.

Her ears did lower some when he asked about referring to that name and for a split moment he did sound like all the others. It did trigger quite a few emotions and she instantly started to slowly retreat into herself, almost pulling her tail away in the process. She did look up to see him thinking over his own words and then he spoke before she could distance too far.

"Yes, my actual name is more preferred and appreciated."

Kaylia left things with that and didn't want to go into much detail. Not only that, he cut her thoughts off when he reach for her hand again. That brought the smile back and her ears relaxed more after hearing that he enjoyed holding her hand. The entire situation left her speechless and more so when the violin started playing near their table.

"I don't mind at all.... I must admit something though..."

She bit her lip at the thought and debated with herself if she should honestly tell him or not. Most males that she knew preyed on such information, jumping in to be the 'first' to tag. Although, that hasn't been her case. But she did start and may as well finish her thought. Although, she didn't have to delve in too much information.

"This is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. I haven't been treated to a nice dinner like this before. Well, outside of family that is."

He ran his thumb unconsciously over the back of her hand and he smiled as she spoke.

"Don't worry about it, and we can come back anytime you want"

He paused for a moment, an idea coming to him. He signaled to the violinist and then reached into his pocket and pulled out a 20 dollar bill. When the violinist came over he seemed a little taken aback by what he saw. Ben shoot him a sharp look and got up out of the booth to talk with him privately. Ben came back with the 20 in hand and sat back down.

"Sorry about that...I requested a song I hope you like it. He was a little reluctant to play it without any sort of...encouragement but I told him he lost that opportunity for looking sideways at you."

A moment later the most unusual sound started filling the room as the violinist started playing this. Many of the diners around them looked over at the violinist in surprise. It's not every day that something so lively gets played in a restaurant like this. Ben reaches out and takes her hand again, secretly hoping she puts her tail back in his lap.

"Unusual for a restaurant like this I know...but its one of my favourites and I wanted you to hear it and possibly give your opinion on it?"

Her ears lowered when he left to go speak with the violinist and almost considered leaving. It wasn't that she was upset with Ben or the Violinist, but more with herself in thinking that things would be different here. She felt the shift in Bens' vibe when the man looked at her. That told her right then that things are no different here and she is already causing problems.

However, she remained seated and waited for Ben to return, curious to see how this will play out considering she hasn't had anyone come to her defense. Granted it wasn't anything bad, it wasn't like the man insulted her or brought harm. The thought of Ben defending her all the same was the shock.

Kaylia did what she could to pretend like it was nothing, sipping at her drink and lost in thought until he came back apologizing.

"It's ok really. I get looks like that all the time. But.... Thank you... for that..."

The next few seconds happened all too quickly as the music started and his hand returned to hers. It suddenly became too much to hold back the overwhelming emotions. She tried, she really did try, though his actions and kindness made it nearly impossible. While she listened to the music, transfixed on how well he played it she couldn't stop the tear that eventually escaped.

"It's beautiful...."

She all but whispered as her tail unconsciously laid back on his lap while being mesmerized by the violinist.

A slight smile danced across his lips as he felt her tail return to his lap. He could get used to it if not careful.

"Yeah it's not to fast paced, is it? I hope you like classical music...I grew up playing in an orchestra so I learned from an early age to have a taste for it. If you wanted to come over to my room some time maybe I could play for you though it's been ages since I've played."

The waiter came by, interrupting his talking, and Be ordered for the both of them, seeing no harm in it since they were getting the same thing.

The waiter left and Ben looked into Katelyn's eyes, wondering what shew as thinking. 'I hope I'm not laying it on too thick...there is just something about her...I want her to like spending time with me...I don't want this evening to end.' His thoughts ran together in his head and as he was lost in thought he started stroking the back of her hand again absentmindedly.

"No, it isn't too fast paced. I do like classical and I love the talent that goes into playing the music. I do like other kinds of music too, mostly celtic type stuff."

Kaylia took a moment to regain her composure and drank the rest of her tea rather quickly. Before the waiter left, she ordered another drink, telling herself to baby this one. She isn't here to get drunk, though that did sound like a very good option right about now.

"I recently taken up the piano out of boredom and have been considering learning bass guitar. Haven't decided yet though."

Her fingers slowly responded to his light caressing and started caress his hand in return. Though she was conscious about it and for a moment watched her very own fingers move on their own with his. This seemed to nice to be real, things that she would only dream of, dreams that weren't meant to come true. Some small part of her kept waiting for the prank part of things to pop out and humiliate her.

"I would be willing to come over sometime and listen to you play. Though, if you haven't played for so long, you may want to practice a little first."

She teased and finally looked up to meet his gaze, which oddly enough sent strange sparks flying this time and she had to look away. It wasn't easy for her to believe that she is falling for someone she just barely met a few hours ago. Truth is, she didn't even know if dating someone in his position is allowed. But, she had to trust him considering he knew the rules far better than she did.

"You're right, I should practice first," He said coming out of his revery.

"So you seem to be lost in thought, what's on your mind there? You have actually looked lost in thought a few times tonight. I hope I haven't confused or overwhelmed you with my kindness. I'm just...well honestly overtaken by you and wanting to spend as much time with you as possible. I know we just met so this might seem a little forward of me, and for that I appologize, but I wanted, to be honest with you. You are unlike anyone I've met before and there is something about you..." he pauses for a moment trying to find a way to describe what he's feeling though nothing fitting comes to mind.

"...I don't know...is any of this making any sense or am I off base here?"

((sorry for the short post but there isn't much to interject here...he's just running off the top of his head for the most part.))

Her ears lowered a little as he spoke. She had hoped that she wasn't making herself too obvious, yet here he is putting forth 'a penny for your thoughts' type situation. Kaylia didn't answer right away and looked down at their hands while her tail swayed a little on his lap.

"I apologize if my hesitation is ruining things for you. Yes, all of this is a bit on the overwhelming side. Men do not normally do things like this with me..... at least not without some humiliating agenda. I-I have...."

She sighed and took a sip of the fresh drink while considering her words carefully. Sadly, at this point in time, there really isn't hiding it anymore and she may as well spill it out.

"I come from a very wealthy bloodline, oddly enough none in my family look like me, yet my parents are who they are. Where I was raised is mostly human based with a handful of Nekos like me. However, I was the one that everyone decided to..... quite literally... push to the side."

She smirked and shook her head in thought, unable to believe that she is telling someone she barely met her lifes story... this part of it anyway.

"You would think I'd be like those cheerlearders over there."

She nodded in the direction of a group of cheerleaders with college boys drooling all over them, laughing up a storm with flirty jokes.

"Instead, I found a world that I can hide into. Which, sadly led me to be a bit too guarded at times."

Finally she came to meet his gaze and smiled weakly, unsure of how he would react towards this information. Considering she practically just told him she's still a virgin and more than likely hasn't even had a real kiss before. Among other things, missing out on all the fun someone her age should be having while she hides from the world.

"However, I can tell you are not like them. You do not carry the same vibe as those back home do. And I would.... like to spend more time... with you in return. It is just... I have a difficult time trusting is all."

Ben looked into her eyes as she spoke, tears coming to his briefly as she described her life at home. When she was he sat in silence for a second thinking what to say.

"I'm not sure what to say...other than I'm sorry things were so rough back home. I hope you feel more accepted and I will take things slow as I understand how trust can be an issue for you. Would it be to much to ask to hug you after sharing that with me? I think you need some comfort right now."

(sorry for the short post but I figure I'd get something up while wife was in the shower)

She smiled softly and shaking her head lightly towards his words.

"I will have to take a rain-check on the hug. Our food will be here shortly and besides, it would mean we would have to get up."

She lifted his hand up and kissed the top of his fingers while her tail gave a light squeeze on his lap, reassuring that she is fine. Shortly afterwards the food came and she waited until the waiter left before speaking again.

"Also, there isn't much that can be said. It is what it is and I have learned to move forward instead of looking backwards. I have no doubts that life will be different here. I will be fine in a few days once I get settled in. For now, lets just enjoy this dinner."

Ben nodded when she turned down his hug. 'Stupid...you overstepped...she's obviously not ready for that.' Looking over at her he smiled and continued stroking her hand with his. His free hand going down to her tail and scratching the tip of it to what it would do to her. The waiter came and he let go of her hand to start eating but continued to scratch the tip of her tail.

"I understand. I to have put the past in the past and try to live in the here and now. I hope you are able to adjust well here...some students find the adjustment more than they bargained for and end up dropping out. I'd hate to see that in your case because I think the University has so much it could offer you."

He looked down at their plates and smiled.

"Looks good, doesn't it? What I'm doing to your tail isn't too distracting, is it? I could feed you if you wanted..." as he spoke he peered down to the tail in his lap, finding one of her spots, and then started to rub it.

She had forgotten about how sensitive her tail was until he began petting it again. That spark shot right up her tail and sent all other nerves on a wild chase. It only intensified when he found a spot to tease and this time it would be more difficult to hide the effects it causes. Especially after having the fairly strong drink coursing through her system.

"You want to Feed me?"

She glanced down at the food and then back up at him with an intrigued look. The idea did pique her curiosity and decided to humor him a little. After all, what harm could come from a simple act and he had been kind since meeting him.

"Yes, it is a bit distracting and I can use some assistance with my food..."

She smiled while watching his reaction and took another sip of her drink before slowly accepting the first bite of food.

Been took a fork full of salad and made sure it had a piece of steak on it and popped it into her mouth. The steak was tender with just a hint of spice and had a hit of honey mustard mixed in from the salad dressing.

As he fed her he started to press and rub the spot on her tail, massaging it like he would her back. Once he had done that with one spot he moved to any other spots on her tail.

The song the violinist was playing at Bens request ended, having almost been forgotten, and he started playing another song.

Ben watched as Kaylia chewed up the salad and then took a bite of his salad letting out a groan of satisfaction as the flavors exploded in his mouth. He took a sip from his drink and then took another few bites before feeding her another.

"I hope you like it. I'd hate to bring you to somewhere where you don't like the food."
