The thing about Leprechaun gold is that it is fake, illusionary.
It disappears after a few hours.

So inadvertently probably the most relevant image of Trump you have posted, you feckin' eejit.

Well said and II75 will cry lie lie lie! View attachment 2604045View attachment 2604046
I'm not crying anything, just giving actual facts:(along with opinion based on facts)
1. Private companies can have their own code of ethics that may or may not align with the government requirements
2. Anthropic's two red lines are based on current law which prohibits sharing of private citizen information and AI controlling automated weaponry without human involvement
3. The government is allowed to have requirements of their own and may seek software which conforms to those requirements
4. The government should not abuse its power to force companies to go against its ethical boundaries with punishment that would be detrimental to its right to sell its products

I was talking about “radical Islam” in the Arab world, etc as it pertained to the prospect of that group obtaining a nuclear weapon. The Iranian regime qualifies as “radical Islam” in my book. The end.

Facts don’t care about feelings. Hamas (backed by Iran, Russia, China, etc) committed the greatest act of genocide against Jews since the Holocaust.

That ^ was THE flashpoint for EVERYTHING that is now unfolding in the region and that is the end of the matter.

The U.S. does / has done the same.

The U.S. faces existential threats from abroad. The U.S. economy is vulnerable to a whole host of threats. The world shrunk a long time ago. Trump is certainly NOT making America safer ( the opposite is likely true) but America was / is not “safe” (exempt from combating foreign threats).

A Democratic President obviously would have been far superior in 2016 and 2024, and they too would have contended with the threats facing America and the world (A Democratic President wouldn’t have allowed a nuclear armed Iran either, but they sure as hell would have handled things more adroitly).

Now, it is what it is…

🤬

We. Told. Them. So.

Facts may not care about feelings but it seems you don’t care about facts.

Hamas (backed by Iran, Russia, China, etc) committed the greatest act of genocide against Jews since the Holocaust

This is nonsense. The idea that the dominant nation in the region who have de facto control of the Gaza Strip was the subject of an act of genocide is to twist the meaning of the word into a pretzel. You also neglected to point out that Hamas was funded and backed by Israel for the decade leading up to the attack. Israel was subject to a terrorist attack. Yes. An act of genocide. No. As an example of the attacks on Palestinians see the report below. These attacks are commonplace. From the article.

Between 7 October 2023 and 8 March 2026, the UN's humanitarian affairs office, OCHA, said 1,064 Palestinians were killed in the occupied West Bank, including at least 231 children.’

The US has no existential threat. It can be subject to a terrorist attack, but it is the primary superpower both economically and militarily. It has no comparable rival. Ironically, the biggest threat to the US economy is the US President.

Ali Larijani was killed in an airstrike last night. Iran’s head of security has been the country’s de facto leader since Khamenei was killed last month and his son was injured. The younger Khamenei hasn’t been seen since the attack that also killed his father.
We're knocking off the regime one at a time, apparently.

The younger Khameini is reported to be gay. Not that I care, but Islamofascists care a great deal.

And yet, for some reason, the drones and missiles are still flying and the Strait of Hormuz is closed for the foreseeable future.

Keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed for the foreseeable futue hurts our enemies more than it hurts us.
Personally, I'd like to see the world reducing its dependence on fossil fuels, both for the environment and for risk reduction: don't want the Petroleum Princes and Putin and Venezuela to be the ones holding the cards. So, sure, keep the oil bottled up, by all means!

On the other hand, the longer the Strait of Hormuz is blocked, the weaker Donald Trump looks, and not just because it shows he's failed at his war aims (whatever those might be). Oh, sure, the USA will do better (by that, of course, I mean just the USA oil companies!) than other nations in the short run, but in the long run everyone from China to Russia to Nigeria will gain advantages. Russia because the price of fossil fuels goes up and China because they can prove themselves to be a responsible nation instead of the whackjob imperialist-wannabe in decline that is the USA.

That's not really practical, at least in the short term. We just plain don't produce enough other energy to meet the need, especally if we build a lot of data centers ,which will strain the grid severely.

Now, if you want to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, the best option to do so is nuclear.

The world's made a lot of progress with solar, wind, renewables, etc. Saying it's not practical "in the short term" is just an excuse by people who like coal-fired power plants and acid rain and don't want to do anything short- or long-term.

We still don't produce nearly enough to meet the demand. That's a fact. We just plain don't have the technology yet.

That's a reason to put more effort into it, not less. Trump killing the wind farms on the Atlantic coast out of pique is a bit of a contrast to the Chinese investment in clean energy, don't you think?

Ever wonder why the Chinese are starting to look so much smarter than Donald Trump?

The only ones that the Chinese look smarter than is you. Which is saying a whole lot.
Perhaps the Chinese are just waiting for Trump to expend all the air defence missiles and bring lots of ships from the Pacific to the Middle East before launching an assault on Taiwan.

Perhaps the Chinese don't have a defense against the American Military.
