If Trump allows Iran to control the Strait of Hormuz and use it as leverage to constrain global oil supply, as they have repeatedly threatened and are actively doing, he knows he will own the consequences. This isn’t theoretical; roughly 20% of the world’s oil flows through that chokepoint, and disruptions have already sent prices surging and shipping to a near standstill. If that artery of global energy remains under coercive control, the economic fallout, higher fuel prices, inflation, and global instability will be laid squarely at his feet. Because at that point, it won’t be about what Iran did, it will be about what he allowed. It won't convince a world that's already waiting on another false narrative about Trump just so they can say gotcha.
