I am not going to say I am rich, or know people that are rich. But to us growing our own food is relaxing. Mindless toil. Plus we get to pick it at its prime, not when it will bring the most $$$ being overgrown to add weight. And, if I had the money and time I would have chickens at least if not steer. Maybe a horse or three while I was at it. A fish pond maybe.

My chickens are egg layers. I don't feed them for human consumption. I prefer they are like pets. Happy chickens. Except for that damn fox. I could shoot it. But I can't make myself shoot a dog. So no cat. No mouse. But a cat and mouse game none the less.

Yeah they lay eggs. I am the beneficiary of friends with them. So, when food prices go up and up because Trump is an idiot who has no policies, I barter or get gifted things. Cucumbers and tomatoes for eggs. It’s not perfect but it’s better than assuming it’ll get better.
