Here in Fairfax Virginia they electric company replaced the meters at the dmark. The new ones sense if you are charging a vehicle at 120 or 240 and you are billed at an increased rate. So far the rates on my bill have not changed in the 12 years I have been here. In the news they keep saying the number of data centers in this county has increased the rates and implied there is an energy shortage. So far neither of that has happened. I suspect my proximity to IAD has something to do with that.
The most cost we endure here are ridiculous taxes. 4% is now added as a food tax when you eat in a restaurant. Resulting in a 10% sales tax on dining out.
The tax on fuel here has driven up food costs before biden's inflation. Looks like Powell is still political with rates. At least he isn't printing money like he did with yellen, biden and his liberal congress.

I spent my childhood learning how to survive by canning food, harvesting food, raising food animals, and vowing I'd never be in a position where I'd have to do it again if I could prevent it.
