Hey, y'all - sure as hell not trying to flame, but I lived through the "AIDS genesis", and I surely remember it being presented as a "gay disease"....
As my fragmented memory recalls, it first cropped up out West (San Fran?) and they later tracked it to a bi-Canadian flight attendant... The original casualties were pretty much all gay guys.
Fixing blame is pretty stupid at this point - nobody knew what the f**k was going on at the time...And why the hell would gay people need to use prophylactics, anyway?
It now seems to be a disease that kills Africans and Americans that aren't rich enough to afford the ridiculously priced medicines.
So what the f**k are we gonna do about that?

hey, hanns, i have no idea where you got this stereotype. not all gays are promiscuous, any more than all heteros are promiscuous. i've seen plenty of promiscuous heteros.
i, myself, have only slept with a few men, and never more than one at a time. i have also never slept with someone i knew to be promiscuous.
and about the irresponsible part, i see plenty of heteros catching stds all the time.
personally, i use condoms, or i make sure, without a doubt, my partner is clean.
i noted what someone else said bout gays not bein able to get pregnant, but not using condoms doesn't just happen with gays. i've also seen plenty of girls who got knocked up or caught somethin because they didn't feel like usin condoms.
And so, before you decide to start insulting another group, do some research, instead of spouting off the same old bigoted stereotypes and homophobic propaganda.
it's because of people like you that gays in many areas still run the chance of being beaten or killed for being who they are. we get blamed for many things which are in truth not our fault.
