I've recently published my first story, it's a multi chapter story and I'm working on the rest of the story, I didn't have any editor to help so I auto edited. I found a great help by listening the story with the narrator feature on Edge browser.

I'm Portuguese and I understand English easily, but writing is much more difficult to me, and listening helped me to detect many errors.

I usually use the same method to "read" stories, I listen to them on the go, driving, working or just relaxing at home.

I'm a professional editor and proofreader, and you'll be pleased to know that it's what I and my colleagues do too. It's best if you can watch the screen as you listen, and follow the highlight as it skips from word to word. You catch typos and inconsistencies, and you hear awkward phrasing.

I use Word's Read Aloud function myself, and the voices are pretty good. They sound pretty natural, except for the occasional homonym. I also adjust the speed, depending how much attention I need to pay.

Didn't know that. I started to use it to listen to the stories, to keep me company during work.

When I decided to write my first story, I noticed the difficulties expressing me in English and listing was a great help to spot typos, gramatical error, etc.

I've found a voice that suits me and adjusted the speed to my liking. If I move forward after ending this series I'll have to find some help proof my writing before uploading it.

Thanks.
