For your readers there is great benefit in this. If I set myself to follow a given author it's because I'm hoping for more of that kind of story. If they bounce around a lot in terms of erotic genres I'm less likely to follow them.Hi all,
I just submitted a new story last night and it had me thinking about how I often go back to the same well of tropes, kinks, and scenarios in my stories. I often have women in tiny bikinis tanning, a shower scene, a dancing scene, and latex outfits. I guess it makes sense since I find those things to be a turn on.
My stuff is also has some very specific themes. The protagonist is going to be female and living nude for one reason or another - whether by choice or situation - and liking this fact. She's almost certainly new to the situation and was not a nudist / naturist / asexual sort - so for her there is a sexual thrill that does not diminish. And for some reason, the environment around her ends up accepting this or does from the start.
From there I might do that in a fantasy, modern world, sci-fi, or other genre.
The stories will be long form. 20k words is an intro section for me. In past I've had single chapters out word count published novels. My sex scenes are not 'mechanically detailed' because describing 'insert tab A into slot B and inject fluid' is not all that interesting to me, so instead I usually have some side plot or comedy routine going on during the sex scene.
