Vampires Abound

Drusilla paused when she saw Raven her eyes shuttered. She had always been attracted to him. Who wouldn't , he was an incredibly handsome man. However she had never allowed herself to care for him more then as a brother. She realized now as she caught his gaze that she had failed. She felt something for Raven but she knew nothing could come of it. He would always love the mortal. Drusilla would have to settle for friendship. She shuttered her gaze and hid those emotions deep within her then she spoke. "It's nice to see you again. Sorry about the abrupt arrival but miss vampire hunter here needs to speak with you."

"You haven't been feeding, have you Raven? Anyway, you and I need to talk privately, where other people's emotions won't get in the way of our planning." I look sideways at Drusilla, and look more obviously at Deavone.

"I will not leave you alone with that vampire!"

"You have no choice in it, I know every secret place in this house, and I could lose you in seconds. Just stay here with Drusilla, while Raven and I talk."

Drusilla ignored her twinge of jelousy more angry at herself for feeling it then anything. She glanced at Deavone smiling mischeiviously on purpose. She so enjoyed playing with mortals.

"Behave!" I warn Deavone, "She won't attack unless you provoke her. Or that's what she told me." I looked at Drusilla and turned to walk to where Raven was leading me.

Raven:

"Hello, my dear Sadie..." Raven said softly as he stepped forward, his bright blue eyes fixed upon her, and only her even as the one known as Deavone blustered. He came to stand beside Drusilla, turning his head to her as he ran the back of his hand along her arm. "Drusilla, my sister of the blood, please do to see that... Deavone's needs are met whilst Sadie and I are away?" Raven's hand went down to collect Drusilla's hand upon which he placed a chaste kiss before releasing it to the heavy, emotion charged air.

He stepped past her, only to stand directly before Sadie. Looking her in the eyes, wordlessly bidding her to follow where he led. Down a corradoor he led, and around a corner, then another great hall reveiled itself before the two of them. All this while, Raven did not speak a word, not did he slow, or stop for Sadie.

Finally, he opened two heavy oak doors to Sadie, motioning for her to enter. It was his great library, his pride and joy. Once Sadie had entered, he slipped in after her, closing and locking the two emmence oak doors. He then turned to face her. "Why have you come, Sadie? To ask for my help in murdering the one known as Hunter? If that is your only reason, I shall tell you now... I will not help you in this matter..." He pushed past her, the expression in his eyes denoting hurt, not anger.

He stood away from her, his back to her, as though he were perrusing the shelf of books before him, when in actuallity, he was endevoring to control the sudden seething emotions within him, brought forth by her very presence... By the scent of her mortality.

"You followed us, didn't you? That doesn't matter. You have not been feeding, have you? You need your strength. Here," I pull my sleeve back to reveal my arm.

"I can not honestly say that is the only reason, I myself don't even know. I do know I do need your help in finding Hunter again. No doubt he knows what we're up to already. As long as we plot here we should be safe. You know as well as I do that Hunter is a danger to both humans and vampires alike. We need to rid him from this world, and not just because he killed my entire family either. He needs to be gotten rid of, and you know it!"

"And I am tiring of Deavone lately, and I don't doubt someone I know has something to do with that, and he tries to protect me too much. Damn it Raven, you know I still love you, I always have, but what pissed me off most was you lying to me and not telling me the truth." why I was saying so much to him, I didn't know, probably because I was used to telling him everything.

Raven:

"I followed, of course I followed." Raven whispered as he turned to face Sadie as she drew a sleeve up. He looked from her face to her offered arm, back to her face. His eyes showed no emotion now, as he slowly strode up to her, taking ahold of her offered arm. He stood there, before her, his grip on her arm tightening, tightening just short of the point of pain. He lifted her arm, pressing it in against her chest. "You must not ask me to drink of your blood, my love... You must know what it would mean to me..." Raven fixed his eyes upon hers, a war was playing within his own, a war of emotions. He let go of her arm and stepped off to her side, once more depriving himself of her beauty, else he might go mad.

He listened as she spoke.

"I can not honestly say that is the only reason, I myself don't even know."

"Yes you do..." Raven whispered under his breath, his head turned away from Sadie.

She then stated her case, reguarding Hunter and Raven's heart sunk. "Must you always be about this... This... Mockery, what you call justice, I call murder." Raven turned to face her, his fine features sharpened into obvious disgust. "Hunter is of no concequence to me, and if you face him, you will surely die, don't you understand? It is pointless..." At the last he trailed off, closing his eyes and setting his jaw, he knew what he had just said had hurt Sadie, long before he endured her reaction.

Slowly, Raven opened his eyes, to find Sadie mute with fury. "Sadie, my beloved, I have lived more than twenty five lifetimes, and in that time... I have killed... Ended more lives than I care to remember. You simply cannot understand, I know, but I can no longer bring myself to murder... The hunt is no more for me..." Turning away again, he continued on, calmly, almost dismissively. "You have my hospitality, my doors are always open to you, and if you must, you may plot against Hunter all you wish, but I will not be a part of those plans." He ran his finger tips along the bindings of the books as he passed a shelf as he spoke.

It was then that Sadie admitted to tiring of Deavone, and at this Raven turned once more, to face her. "I see, you have... Tired of him... And how long until you tire of me as well?" He was being cruel, and he knew it. His cruelty toward Sadie was a facade he had built up over the years since Sadie had turned her back on him, but it was a facade he could feel being stripped away quickly, by her mere presence. "And if you had known was I was from the very begining? What then? Would you not have attacked me outright for being a 'monster' for being against every single one of your beliefs?"

I held my hand to my chest for a moment, letting it sit there realizing Raven was being stubborn.

"Defending my family's honor is pointless? How dare you say something like that. You know how much it hurt me to have done what I did, and for that I want revenge. You think Hunter is so great? Might I remind you of the last time you helped me out? I nearly got rid of him, the only thing that saved him was I had tripped and you saved me from him. So how is it different this time? Why did you help me last time if you think it's so pointless?"

"I have never tired of you. You were the one that let me fall for you knowing my convictions. I was totally innocent in it all, you knew what secret you kept from me. Why should I have stayed with you? That would have meant becoming the very thing I loath. That is the only thing that kept me from being with you. I cannot stand to be what you are. I offer you my blood because I love you. And you know as well as I that you must feed. I can tell by your color you haven't for a while. I know what will happen to you, I've seen it. You know as well as I do that if you don't you'll just become a mound of undead flesh that will not die unless put in the sun, and you need your strength, now take what I offer you, damnit!"

Deavone:

I shifted nervously from foot to foot, watching Drusilla as she looked at me like she was reading my thoughts. I wondered if she too had fallen for Raven as my love had. I wondered if Drusilla could sense the tension between Sadie and I.

Raven:

"You must do what you believe is right, Sadie, just as I must. I will not waver on this, if you go after Hunter, I will not help, but know this, I will not let you perish at his hands either. Just as before, I will be watching." Raven said as he circled around Sadie, passing his fingers through her hair as he passed behind her. "I helped you survive that day, that is all, I left hunter to you, just as I will this time, and every time after this... If it is an oath you need, than hear me now, I will not help you murder, neather shall I let you die." He came back around to look at Sadie with his ice blue eyes.

"You would not have loved me if I revealed to you what I was. When I finally told you, I had hoped that your love for me would have outweighed your convictions, but I was sorely mistaken. One thousand and fifty years ago, I had the sun stolen from me, but with you, I had a taste of that sort of beauty once more... Can you immagine starving for that kind of beauty for a thousand years? Having the sweetest taste of it one day, but only just a taste. Then having it torn once more from you? No, you cannot.." He stepped forward, the desperate ache to grasp her, to embrace her and simply weep was strong, but, on some perverse level he wanted her to pay, he wanted her to feel the sort of emotional anguish she, herself had left him in... He knew it was wrong, and his own convictions were wavering, in fact he felt his hands starting to shake, his knees growing weak, and the blood tears welling up in his eyes.

"Do... Do not tempt me to feed Sadie... I will not be gentle..." Raven breathed between clenched teeth as he clenched her shoulders and held her out to arms length, a single crimson tear streaming down his cheek.

Sadie:

"Can you understand how my loathing for vampires has caused me not to want to be one? If you hated something as much as I hate vampires, could you seriously become it? Could you do it if it were an action? Touch it if it were an object? Think of your love for me as a hatred for somthing else, that strong. Now could you possibly do it?"

Knowing full well that Raven needs his strength, I put my arm to his lips as the tear of blood falls from his eye, holding it there, hoping that my arm being there will be all he needs to urge him to feed.

Raven:

Raven turned his face away from her offered arm, brushing his tear away. "How could you... How could you presume that I had ever, EVER intended to turn you?" He locked eyes with her again, this time the hurt hidden deep within them was aparent. "I can understand your hatred for my kind, but you must understand, I would never curse you with my blood, even if you wished it."

He pulled away, walking to a shelf of books, he slumped up against it, his back to her, obviously from weakness, it was becoming hard for him to even stand. "I love you far to much for that, Sadie..." He breathed, his voice quavering.

Sadie:

"Either feed from me or I will cut myself. Seeing how weak you are, the smell alone will make you want to. If not, I'll wrestle you to the floor and drip the blood into your mouth. You know I'm not as prim and proper as a lady should be. Your choice, Raven. Take it willingly now, or you eventually will. Either that or I get you someone to feed from.

Raven:

Sinking to the floor, his back rested against the book shelf, he looked up at Sadie. "You cannot, must never ask me to drink of you... If I do, I would lose myself... You would have to kill me... Don't you understand?" Turning his head to the side, he looked away, he was growing lethargic. It was obvious he would go into torpor within a days time without blood. "Bring me someone..." He finally relented, and gave into Sadies demands that he feed. "Go." He hissed.

Saide:

"Finally." I walked back into the room that Drusilla and Deavone stood. Neither trusting the other. Relief filled Deavone's eyes as I made my way back.

"I cannot do it, it's going against everything I am so I ask you, Drusilla, to get Raven someone to feed on, he has agreed to, but we need a mortal for him. His strength is almost gone, so I finally got him to want to. Bring them in the back way so we don't see the person. And hurry!"

Drusilla stayed quiet throughout her entire time alone with Deavone. Yet she studied him her eyes taking in everything. Mortals alway intrigued her. It had been so long since she had been turned she no longer remembered what it was like to be one. Sighing softly she glanced away when Sadie reentered. At her request Drusilla nodded happy that Raven would feed. He had been worrying her as of late. Without another word she left the building and quickly headed to the park. She would bring him a homeless person. One who wouldn't be missed, she knew it was cruel to kill ones victim but Raven's control would be slim when he finally tasted human blood again. She found an older man lying on a park bench. He was relatively clean and she smelled no drugs on him. So she sent him a mental command to remain asleep then picked him up. With surpernatural speed she hurried back to Raven's place and entered the back way like Sadie had requested. She located Raven and entered the room almost hesitantly. "I know you don't like to love but I'm glad you are going to feed. Your color and health worry me." She gently layed the man down on the floor. "Do you wish me to leave? or shall I stay?"

William

William watched that house fvery closely he knew that Raven, Drusilla, and the others where in the house, he wondered what was going to happen next.

William loaded his crossbow and wanted to go in but waited for something else, he saw Drusilla grab a homeless man from out side. that was his chance, he moved into the house to see everyone in there. He stoped at the door, his jaw dropped.

He waited...

Raven:

Raven had drawn himself to his feet, leaning against a book shelf as he looked up to find Drusilla enter with the sleeping form of an elderly man. "Drusilla..." He sighed, breathing in the scent of frail mortality clinging to the man's skin. "Set him down... And leave me..." He waited patiently for her to leave the room before he began to stumble, and finally collaps next to the elderly man.

He laughed weakly as he touched his hand to the man's wrinkled and liver spotted cheek. "What a sight we would be, old one..." He sighed as he lowered his head to the man's neck. "One frail with age, the other with hunger..." Stopping, to whisper in the old man's ear. "Your misery ends, and mine begins anew..."

And with that, he fed, fed violently and savagely, like a starved and wild wolf. When it was over, Raven drew himself into a corner, so that he did not have to look at the body he had left behind, the chalk white, sunken, paper thin skinned, savaged throat, corpse. He had used his own clothing to wipe the blood from his lips and his hands and had torn it to shreds, casting it about the room as cloth confetti before anyone dared to check in on him.

Drusilla stood outside the door loath to leave Raven at a time like this. He had always been there for her, she could only do the same. She gave him some time then softly knocked. "Raven may I come in?" she asked not wanting to intrude but wanting to make sure he was alright.

Sadie:

"He won't help me find Hunter, but he will stop me from getting killed. I convinced him to feed, as you heard, he needs his strength."

"William! What are you doing here?"

William was shocked to even see Sadie in the room with these people "Sadie I I I I.......

Sadie:

"Uh, hi. What's up? I was going to talk to you tomorrow, but since you're here now, we might as well talk. I have a favor to ask of you. You can say no if you like. I want to track down the one called Hunter. I need as much help as possible. It will be dangerous, but since you kill them like I do, you know what is involved. He is a dangerous one. He is strong, and has many powers."

Deavone:

"No pressure to join us in this quest, we know you have a family to take care of."

William

William picked his jaw up off the ground and stared at her for a second or two, "You want me to help you adn other vampires hunt down another vampire? What are you out of your mind these people *points tothe other vamps in the room* will betry you the montment they see fit, Sadie."

William looked at her one more time and smiled "what the hell, it would be fun thought...

Ariana

She held a glass of champagne idlely in her long slender fingers, not drinking a drop, just twirling it slowly between her fingers watching the delicate bubbles swirl and dance about in the cool pale liquid.

This party bored her.
She prefered to be the hostess basking in the attention and adoration of her guests.
She sighed and set the full glass down on the table and with a swish of skirts headed out into the gardens.

The sweet scent of honeysuckle and roses filled the air, with a hint of jasmine wafting in the breeze as she walked silently down the stone steps and lingered on the edge of the path gazing out into the forest.

She'd sensed him earlier, Raven. It had been so long since she'd looked upon his face...
She'd sensed others two, mostly mortal and one of her own, and then another...shrouded in darkness had made her shiver.

She followed the scent, her long burgundy dress trailing behind her, missing snags on brambles and such by skill alone.
Her footsteps were silent on the path as she followed their scent.
Something deep inside herself told her that the mortals would lead her to Raven and her heart soared.

But she would wait, she could smell more mortals than her own and she did not want to intrude.......
